Adherents of the Catholic Church are not, per se, non-Christian.
Specific practices, dogmas, rituals, and beliefs are declared to be either Anti-Christian, or Non-Christian, or both Anti-Christian and Non-Christian. These items are not necessarily confined to things found in Catholic Christianity.
As a general rule of thumb, the specifics are related to when, and why the Tradition of the specific denomination rejected the specific Traditional Catholic practice, dogma, ritual, or belief.

Most denominations tend to draw a very fine line here.I have been unaware that there are any Protestant denominations that do so. Do you know which ones?
