Whatever!
Jesus is not supposed to look like He came from Jupiter, or from another galaxy!!!

I just read the last few pages of posts, and agree that I wouldn’t mind them in a museum (although they would still be, in my opinion, HIDEOUS). I, along with many others in this thread, just don’t deem them appropriate in a church. I don’t even think they’re appropriate on a Catholic website.
To whatevergirl, I’ve never liked any artwork with portrays Jesus - Baby, Child or Man - as a blue-eyed blond, although I can understand that artists down through the ages have portrayed Him in a way most identifiable with the audience who would view the artwork.
But, I just don’t think He should be portrayed as Voltron from the planet Zardook. :bigyikes:
agreed!!
“I wish that my heart could beat, that I could live and breathe only for Jesus, I wish that my tongue could utter no other name than that of Jesus; that my eye could see only Jesus; that my pen could write only about Jesus, and that my thoughts could soar to nothing but Jesus. I have often wondered where on earth there might be something on which I could center my love. But neither on earth nor in heaven do I find any such thing but only my beloved Jesus… I am the fruit of your passion, Jesus, born of your wounds. O Jesus, seek me in love; I no longer possess anything; you have stolen my heart…” - St. Gemma Galgani
Most of the artwork that I see depicts Jesus brown-haired and brown-eyed. I have seen pictures of the blue-eyed, blonde Jesus, most of these are pictures of him as an infant/toddler and, to me, they just don’t look quite right. To whatevergirl, I’ve never liked any artwork with portrays Jesus - Baby, Child or Man - as a blue-eyed blond, although I can understand that artists down through the ages have portrayed Him in a way most identifiable with the audience who would view the artwork.
Maybe they were trying to make Jesus look like He did at the crucifixion: bloody, horrible, like a worm.http://bp1.blogger.com/_qCdb88Y3Uz8/R405MnKcLuI/AAAAAAAAA1E/KTHjjyQQx5c/s400/alien_Christ.jpg
Is it an extra-terrestrial being floating down from it’s spaceship? Could it be the latest gore-covered monster from the mind of horror film-maker Wes Craven? Is it a nightmare version of a decaying dead body?

I think the Urantians think jesus is a alien from another planet sent here to help us grow.http://bp1.blogger.com/_qCdb88Y3Uz8/R405MnKcLuI/AAAAAAAAA1E/KTHjjyQQx5c/s400/alien_Christ.jpg
