I personally think that the “grilled cheese” comment was quite funny when it first appeared in this thread.
Over and above that, if I think I can see some holy image in a grilled cheese sandwich and it turns my life completely to Christ…God is not going to say “Sorry mate, yer got it wrong”.:bounce:

Blessings - Barb:)

George Carlin says it best… to paraphrase…

“God isn’t going to show his face on a sticky bun or a cheese sandwich, a God worth his weight will show up on live TV, during the halftime show of the superbowl game with the Radio City Rockettes performing and Elvis and Sinatra singing backup vocals, floating on a cloud with lightning and comets for special effects… he’s got the budget”

People have a way of overspirtualizing things.
Looks like a fire to me that just happens to resemble JPII. I don’t really need further proof that heaven exists, or that life is good.
Let me get this straight:
  1. There is a fire that, at one instant of time, resembles JPII.
  2. Therefore, there is a heaven.
I’m thinking there’s got to be a suppressed premise in there somewhere. Joe

He showed up at my Church in person again this morning. A show that has had a 2,000 year run-more than even “Cats”!

I’m slow this morning… here is the train of thought i just had…

“wow, George Carlin goes to Bob’s church… i thought George was an atheist, didn’t Carlin live in Vegas, no, that was last year… he’s back in L.A. now…wierd that Carlin is in Colorado, maybe on vacation… So, Carlins a Catholic again…wow, thats amazing how people change when…what’s Bob mean by 2000 years?..is that a Carlin skit i haven’t seen?.. oh… wait… oohhhhhhh.”

i need to run and make some coffee to defog my brain now.

Gee, thanks a lot. I went to good 'ol Jack’s website to see if that pic was really there and my head almost exploded…
:doh2:
Is this guy anti-everything or just against Catholics?

Hey I’m all in favor of a theology that says eating brings ones closer to God. Bette Better yet proving that eating sweets brings you even closer!

I have to admi tI did have one meal this morningi that did bring me very close to God-I had communion at Mass. Which brings me to a serious point. Why are people always trying to find visions of God or see God manifested in strange ways when they can go to Mass and hold him in the their hands?
So true…actually i think Catholics need to move away from trying to ’ find proof ’ of our Lord in all manner of images ; photographs ; YOU NAME IT ! My protestant friends would [rightly] wince if they read this thread.👍 Look no further than the Eucharist to find our God !

This fiery figure is being hailed as Pope John Paul II making an appearance beyond the grave.
The image, said by believers to show the Holy Father with his right hand raised in blessing, was spotted during a ceremony in Poland to mark the second anniversary of his death.
Details appeared on the Vatican News Service, a TV station in Rome which specialises in religious news broadcasts.

It’s probably just simply the patterns of the flame but it’s a nice thought anyway!

The miracle is not the event itself but what it causes in the heart and soul of a person. If this event, or even a grilled cheese sammich for that matter, brings someone closer to God, then THAT is the miracle.

God works in mysterious ways - if it happens in a bonfire for someone, hey, who am I to question God’s motives. 🤷

Liza,

It’s just a bond fire nothing more. Not John Paul II the Great.

If they bring it up ask them about the Prayer of Jabazz…

If God allowed John Paul II to make an appearance, do you really think it would be in a bonfire? (oh, oh, I just thought of a few who would say “yes”

And I think he would have more to say than just
“Hey!”😃

Rather a bonfire, than a grilled cheese sandwich:D Perhaps if in a bonfire the message might be that Pope John Paul is alive with the fire of love of God…ahhhhh perpective:D

Over and above that I would rather not have any sort of vision, my psychiatrist would have a near heart attack and grab for her thickest prescription pad.😃

Over and above that I dont think God is all that concerned about the rules and regulations we may place on Him.👍

Blessings and with God’s Peace and His Joy…Barb:)

Isn’t that sister Joan Chittister?? Sure looks like her ectoplasm.😃

Ahhhhh p e r s p e c t i v e…

Every event is like a diamond - many different ways of perceiving, many interpretations…and often all of them valid…“everyone has the right to experience reality from their own ground of being”…

Goodness! “ectoplasm” you sent me running for my dictionary…Sister Joan…mmmm interesting lady…
