What makes that so sinister? Sorry, but that’s an overreaction. Next people will avoid longhorn cattle because the horns resemble that of Satan.

You have to ask yourself, what is behind the image and the motivation? Is it promoting Satan in any way? Having recourse to demons? Encouraging others to deny God?
I think not.
This picture is satanic without a doubt! You keep giving excuses and trying to say it isn’t but the reality is…it is an evil image.

Therese, you should really reconsider your so called certainity on what is satanic and what is not.
You started a thread where you called Beyonce “satanic” with the only supporting argument being the ramblings of a nutty conspirancy theorist.
Looks can be deceiving. Don’t just point your finger at things without reasoning about it.

That said, is a purely fictional symbol. No satanist group uses it, and given the context it’s hardly used for demon worship. It’s not even a goat - these are a bull’s horns.

So you can’t tell the difference ?
The synbol was likely inspired by the RAM’s - the game’s developers simply made it look cool for a villainous squad.

Pheraps it is you’re the one unable to tell the difference between an innocuous fictional symbol with no ties to the occult - both in-game and the real life - and a real satanic symbol.

So there is a difference, and people in the occult don’t believe in Devil and Hell anyway.

Of course there is - but ominous and edgy doesen’t automatically mean satanic. If there is no worship intent behind, I think it’s fine

Wait…I tought it was the church of satan who considered the devil just an example to follow and not a real being
As far as I know, occultists do believe in Hell and demons - after all, they’ve made it their job to uncover its (and other entities’)secrets.
I may be wrong, I do not know much about “real” sorcerers like Crowley or Lévi)

This is all slippery slope madness. Did anyone read my details about someone I know who denies lambs because they look too similar to goats…which goats look like Baphomet…and Baphomet is the Devil!

This same person I mention, had a simple five point gold star on their Christmas tree. Guess what? When I saw it the star had crooked some and looked like a classic, pentagram. Naturally he took the star off the tree in an instant! It was in the trash bin…quick.

Some on this thread I believe suffer from scruples. Satan will get you morality-wise and not through such obvious pictures.

LiquidMan said…“kind of looks like a demonic alien goat skull” and I agreed.

I said “kind of looks”, not “it is”.
I’m not God, you know - I can be wrong about this, and honestly hope I’m reading way too much into it.
I agree with who says that just because something looks edgy it does not mean it is satanic.

If it can put your friend at ease, I found out that neither the Baphomet or the pentagram are “real” satanic symbols: the baphomet was a made-up pagan god used to accuse Templars of idolatrism and sacrilege, later made a symbol of religion by occultists and at last taken by satanists through the (flawed) logic “it’s pagan, therefore is satan”.
The pentagram was a pagan symbol of knowledge, later Christians (!) adopted it to symbolize the five wounds of Christ and at the end went through the whole “pagan is demonic” process too

I attempted to convey very similar information. He is a Protestant, and is all about looking out for Satan in everything. Again, such micromanaging/scruples are more harmful than using a Satanic image for an avatar in a video game.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the game. I don’t think the game is some gateway to the occult. But I think the comparison to the Dodge Ram logo is naive. Clearly the designer drew inspiration from very common imagery associated with Baphomet. This doesn’t mean the game is satanic. It doesn’t mean the villains are even occultists themselves. But villainous groups in games, books, and movies, or “bad boy” (can’t believe I wrote that) in real life, use this type of “dangerous” imagery to make them look “badder.” They might not be occultists, or worshipping demons, or magical, of course, but they intend to associate themselves with that type of badness, and that just seems to obviously be the case here. Even if there was no thought of Baphomet, the group is intending to get that sinister imagery (and it has sinister connotations precisely because that type of design is associated with sinister things, like the occult). The demonic goat head is a pervasive image in western culture (not that it’s everywhere, but in any story about the demonic or occult it’s there, not that Titan fall is about the demonic or the occult itself).

That doesn’t mean the game is satanic, or endorsing Baphomet, or anything like that. I think the decal is no reason to question the game. You can have stories where this type of stuff is there but not endorsed.

The complete dismissal that the designer could be drawing on certain connotations the image has in western culture just seems to be a defensive overreaction.

I agree with what you said, however it’s a different thing between the artist actually drawing a demon logo and having inspiration from the image of a demon, ending up with something else

I would say it kind of looks like a demonic alien goat skull… how about that.😉
