If you want we could probably inform the Saudi authorities and get this site blocked if it’s not already. Or a mod could check is IP address.
Sister Amy is doing exactly what is written in our Quran:
Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers,…
(Quran 03:151).

This is a really silly claim, Sam, and I would expect more from you. It’s kind of like a strawman.

Sister Amy is doing exactly what is written in our Quran:
“…and feel themselves subdued”
(Quran 09:29).

Vickie to Sister Amy:
You never tire of deception, do you?? As I’ve pointed out before, you’ve called America a vulgar country!
Sister Amy to Vickie:
I NEVER SAID SUCH A THING, EVER.

And you think I’m lying. Everyone should be able to see now who is the liar.

My answer to my question:

By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:16).

Thank you Jesus for letting me know why we Muslims behave like that.

I hope most Christians appreciate that I don’t judge them on the behaviour of people like you. Is this the example Christ gave? The least you could do is stop calling yourself a Muslim.

No, i think he is doing a good job of pointing out how lying is used in Islam. 😉

He hasn’t shown that anyone deliberately lied, nevermind that they did so to further a plot by the Elders of Mecca to take over the world.

Did you not read this in the first post?

I think this is a perfect example of where SisterAmy DID lie.

The whole “lying about calling the US vulgar” thing can easily be explained by her forgetting that she said it, but I’m most disturbed by Sister Amy wanting to somehow alert the Saudi authorities to the fact that Sam is accessing this site. That’s twisted. 😦

No it’s not a perfect example of Muslim lying, as she says she forgot about making that comment. That really should have been the end of it. Creating an entire new thread solely for the purpose of attacking someone’s character was totally unnecessary and, in this non-Catholic’s opinion, uncharitable.

I’m pretty sure she was being ironic, ibkc.

I hope so, but it still seems like a weird thing to joke about. I understand there are questions about really being in SA, but what if he’s telling the truth?

I don’t think that given the state of affairs with religion and world politics, having a muslim call America vulgar isn’t ironic at all. I think it is her honest opinion. And as far as “forgetting” what she said goes, that is not acceptable. Does that mean one can lambast and insult everyone and then try to use the defense of “I don’t remember saying that” and be exonerated? Everyone should be responsible for what they say, especially when it can be easily construed as hate speech.

I meant she was probably being ironic when she said we could inform the Saudi authorities that they’d forgotten to block this site.

I’m not arguing that saying ‘I forgot I said that’ gets you off the hook for making objectionable and/or offensive comments, and I find it perfectly understandable why you would consider these as such. But the accusation is not that she said such things, but rather that she said them and then six weeks later deliberately lied when she denied saying that and then lied again when she apologised and said she’d forgotten she’d said that; and then we start with the whole Muslims are taught to lie so they can take over our countries nonsense.

I know Amy. She may make some objectionable comments every now and then, but she is definitely not a liar. Nobody deserves to be called a liar like this with no proof at all

For the record, I have no intention of alerting Saudi Censorship to anything, and wouldn’t find it prudent or useful to do. I made a mistake, for which I apologized. If you have any other problems with my behavior, address me directly. And that goes for anyone.

Taking four or five words out of the Qur’an, from verses over 30 words long is hardly a way to demonstrate knowledge of the teachings of Islam.

Sam, you have managed to impress me in only one regard, and that is how you have managed to convince anyone here that you are a Muslim. You clearly know Christianity better, and if you feel that your faith leads you in that direction, then go ahead and embrace it–admit it.

Admit to partners besides God. You cannot harm me, nor any other Muslim, nor Islam.

Admit to partners besides God.
Sister Amy,

Christianity does not admit partners besides God, because that is polytheism, and polytheism is a heresy. There is only One Triune God: Father, Word, and Holy Spirit. There are not three gods. We do not believe in tritheism.

If you don’t want Islam misrepresented on this board, then please don’t misrepresent Christianity.

God bless,

Rony

I know that you don’t understand Islam, or the meaning of worship in Islam, or what I mean by saying admitting partners. In the “Old Testament” nobody worshiped Jesus. But in the “New Testament,” people do. This we call admiting a partner to God, because Muslims don’t believe Jesus is part of God or in any sense divine. Has nothing to do with tritheism, simply that Muslims don’t believe Jesus is at all divine, nor deserving of worship, by which I mean prayer, reliance, love, etc.

Moreover, Muslims believe that only God can make things allowed or forbidden–only God, through His messengers. So allowing scholars or priests or popes to make things allowed or forbidden or mandatory, in Islam that is considered a kind of worship of something other than God. 🤷

whether you believe Jesus is divine or not is your business but saying because he is divine he must be a partner of God is another quranic misrepresenation. Tell me Amy, beside what to eat and how to dress, did you study some theological elements in Islam, for example, the belief that Allah’s word is eternal and uncreated, present with the dhat of Allah since the beginning? did you? if yes, then can you still say that Allah’s word is a partner to Allah?if not, then read it…only then will you understand the theological meaning of Christianity that is not found in the Quran.

does Allah makes fatwas or is it your sheikh of Al-Azhar?

I have thought about this, and not arrived at your proposed conclusion. Would you say that the Qur’an = God? I wouldn’t say that. Is the Qur’an uncreated? Sure. Does that make it God? No.

A fatwa is an interpretation or conclusion based on Shari’ah, and Shari’ah is based on the Qur’an and Sunnah. It is actually forbidden, in Islam, to make something allowed which Allah has forbidden (like pork) or something forbidden which Allah has allowed (like marriage.)

On the other hand, a fatwa just takes into account all the information regarding a situation, to determine what Allah has said on the matter. I.e., if a person is starving with no means of food but comes across a pig can he eat it? And the answer is yes. Not because Allah has not forbidden pork, but because Allah also said that is allowed if there is no other way.

Now, the way I understand Catholicism in particular is that the Pope can make things allowed or forbidden, by claiming divine authority and perfect interpretation of the Bible and whatnot. I would rather not start getting into examples in the Catholic tradition because people might get angry at me.

LOL!!

If the OP really, really wants to know what Islam teaches, I suspect they’d learn.

Why the flaming?

Nope that is a misunderstanding, however this thread is not the place to go into detail on the pope, the authority of the Church etc. If you’d like to start another thread detailing these examples I think it would be a good oppurtunity for everyone to learn something.

And to Damneeda, the OP allegedly is a former Muslim, at 33, living in KSA I think he’d have a firm grasp of at least a few Islamic principles.

I’m not 33… a sad, mere, 24. And I’m a former Christian living in the USA. But clearly, I haven’t grasped “at least a few Christian principles.” Just because the people around me believe stuff doesn’t mean I understand it at all. (And as the other part of your post showed, I clearly don’t understand it all.)

Sorry Sister, not you, I was referring to the OP=original poster (Sam_777)
