I am trying to understand the social teaching of the US Conference of Catholic Bishop. In particular, I am sent a copy of the Archdiocesan newspaper of Los Angeles called The Tidings.
Archbishop Gomez has an essay in virtually every issue promoting immigration reform in the United States. ONE ISSUE that he raises is that the US immigration policy is “broke
.”
Can somebody explain to me what is “broken” about the U.S. Immigration Policy?
(I don’t want to get into the whole statement of the bishops, just this one issue. I think I can only handle one issue at a time relating to immigration.)
