Is yoga demonic or no?

No.

I am saying that if you are engaging in those activities with the intent of getting knowledge from spirits, then it is very very harmful.

If you are simply turning cards over and seeing what comes up, with the idea that this is all pretend, then go for it.
That’s saying the same thing. It’s okay for some people, and wrong for others.

That’s saying the same thing. It’s okay for some people, and wrong for others.
It’s ok for some people, if they don’t think it’s real.

There’s nothing inherently evil about turning over cards, right?

And it’s harmful for those who are seeking knowledge through the cards.

That’s saying the same thing. It’s okay for some people, and wrong for others.
Here’s an analogy:

Let’s say you are wondering if shooting heroin into your veins is harmful.

I say: yes it is.

You say: but don’t some people shoot chemicals into their veins and it’s not harmful?

I say: sure.

You say: therefore “it’s ok for some people to shoot chemicals into their veins and harmful for others, right?”

Sure.

It depends upon the action and the intent.

There is nothing inherently evil about putting a needle into one’s veins. 🤷

So, since there is NO SUCH THING as “centers of energy”, according to the Catholic Faith, how can one stimulate such a thing that doesn’t exist?
All Yoga gurus say that there is an occult energy which they look for. Yoga alters your state of conscience. The gurus says that goal of many types of yoga is to awake the serpent that you have inside. In such altered condition you cannot control your thoughts and it is when the evil and occult forces take advantage to enter in your body.

All Yoga gurus say that there is an occult energy which they look for.
But here’s the #1 point, comecome.

Is this true, or is it a lie what the Yoga gurus are teaching?

The Catholic answer is: it is a lie. The Yoga gurus are not professing a truth.

Occult energy ?

You mean the life energy that exist in human beings is not from God, but from the devil ?

No wonder’s people who consider Catholicism and visit this forum run fast and far after reading the psychotic nonsense presented here.

Is there a parallel here from 1 Corinthians we can learn from? There the issue is meat sacrificed to idols.

1 Corinthians 8
1Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that “We all possess knowledge.” But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. 2 Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know. 3 But whoever loves God is known by God.

4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: **We know that “An idol is nothing **at all in the world” and that “There is no God but one.” 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

7 But not everyone possesses this knowledge. **Some people are still so accustomed to idols **that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. 8 But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.

9 Be careful, however, that the **exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block **to the weak. 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol’s temple, won’t that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols? 11 So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. 12 When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.

and

1 Corinthjians 10
25 Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, 26 for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.”

27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience. 29 I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience? 30 If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for?

31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— 33 even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

For the sake of others perhaps those Christians who do yoga should **exercise their right **in private and keep it private so as not to become a stumbling block to others.

Here’s the thing…

There is something inherently evil with dabbling with the occult. It doesn’t matter what, or even lack of the intent is. The danger exists regardless on whether you “see” or “realize”, and despite what your intentions are. The spirit realm is real, and while a person may be ignorant or oblivious to the ways and means, it doesn’t mean that the danger simply doesn’t exist. The Church is rightfully firm on this. When I was a kid, I looked at Tarot cards and Ouija boards as nothing more sinister than a Magic 8 ball or a pretend magic wand. Does that mean that since that was my thought and intent toward the occult, that I was immune from spiritual danger that the practices could have wrought? Many priests have told me otherwise. (I was stubborn)

Here are a few of the reservations concerning yoga from the Vatican:

Please do not mix. The Yoga gurus are wrong when they say they are chakras, but they are true when they state that yoga generates an altered state of consciousness. Even scientists have confirmed it. Also experience, as you can see in the videos I linked, shows that Yoga generate occult powers.

The Catholic church does not accept occult powers affecting your body! So a Catholic cannot accept Yoga

Please, read all the articles I linked before. They all support my arguments!

At the end you do not believe in the power of the occult forces, you don’t believe in devil or in devil’s power. You can open the door to these forces just altering your mind or conscience. Just open your mind to the Holy Spirit!

Please read: The Occult And The Destructive Power Of Darkness

Do not forget, there is a spiritual world, a nether world! and a light world. Please choose the light! Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life!

In the end, you’re attempting to tell me what I believe, and just like Yoga and Tai Chi with respect to Christianity, you don’t have a clue.

I don’t need to read books about the devil, I already know enough and don’t care to give him more time.

Now you’re telling me to chose Jesus, as if I haven’t long ago. You have no clue about my relationship with Jesus Christ.

Fact is, because I know Jesus, I can see the good in others, without judgement.

Do I wish they become Christian, sure and I tell them about Jesus in a loving compassionate way, but then they come to this forum then they run fast and far.

Faith comes from Jesus Christ, not from what we do.

Everything I have, was given to me from God, not something I acquired because of my own doing.

There are those who believe what they have is of their own doing and it puffs up their ego and pride. They end up doing more harm in bringing others to Christ than what the devil could ever do.

You say that you are not judgmental, and yet who is your last statement directed toward?
In an earlier statement you stated:

“No wonder’s people who consider Catholicism and visit this forum run fast and far after reading the psychotic nonsense presented here.”

That’s hardly talk that would draw others to Christ either, no?

I’m assuming you mean us…your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

I stand by what I said. The post in this forum border psychotic. So many threads about scrupulosity, the devil and sin, it’s hardly the sign of people being filled with peace and joy in knowing Jesus Christ.
I’m assuming you mean us…your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Fellow brother and sisters in Christ ?

That’s for you to decide.

Jim

God is the strongest force. It is sad that my fellow Catholics think God is weak. They don’t praise God, but choose to talk about the devil and put other spiritual practices down. There is one infinite, God the Father, but Catholics here try to make up other Gods, but this does not make God the Father better it makes Catholics look ignorant.

You can open the door to these forces just altering your mind or conscience.
An even better way to open the door to these forces is to see the devil in everything. That type of paranoia gives the devil a free pass to possession.
At the end you do not believe in the power of the occult forces, you don’t believe in devil or in devil’s power.
I’ve been saying that all along. I don’t believe stretching or body positions equals demonic possession. If it did, every Catholic that put their hands in a prayer position, which is also a mudra, would be possessed.

I don’t see how turning cards over is going to open someone to spiritual danger.

That smacks of superstition to me.

There is no power in any inanimate object.

The Catholic church does not accept occult powers affecting your body!
This is correct.
So a Catholic cannot accept Yoga
If one is doing Yoga as exercise and stretches, there is nothing wrong with that.

And there is nothing inherently evil about certain body positions.

One cannot be worshipping a Hindu deity without intending to worship a Hindu deity.

That is simply absurd to think that one could be doing this unintentionally.

You say,“I’m not the one telling people in here what they believe, as in the post I replied to.”

I think you are confusing people having an opposite stance than you do on an issue as “telling people in here what to believe”. People are no more telling people what to believe than the proponents are. It’s good and healthy to debate an issue. Usually when a person has no other points to present, they commonly resort to mud-slinging and personal attacks. For the sake of the thread, let’s stick to the topic and exhibit charity as expressed in the rules of CAF.

There is nothing wrong with a person sharing their beliefs. If you disagree…fine. You don’t have to agree. If you take offense over people telling people about their beliefs in general, I don’t know what else to say than that’s life. If no one ever shared their beliefs the Gospel would have died out long ago.

You said, "I stand by what I said. The post in this forum border psychotic. So many threads about scrupulosity, the devil and sin, it’s hardly the sign of people being filled with peace and joy in knowing Jesus Christ. "

That’s great that you stand up for your beliefs! 👍

However, if a post brings up feelings of such strong animosity toward others, it might be of better use to skip the particular offending thread in question. It’s difficult for others to respond to your legitimate call for peace and joy if on the other hand, they feel attacked by you. It sends the opposite message that I think you intend to send.

You said, "Fellow brother and sisters in Christ ?

That’s for you to decide."

What’s to decide upon? So we’re only brothers and sisters in Christ if what? If we agree with you? I’m confused as to what you mean by that. I thought we were all brothers and sisters in Christ because we all believe in Christ who redeemed us. You don’t agree?
🤷

Peace!

Jim
