Ah, so it’s about pride, not representing the military facts of the conflict.But the overall gist of what I said still stands. Us Americans are routinely tempted to fall into a kind of Americentrism - forgetting the fact that America barely contains 350,000,000 of the worlds 7,500,000,000 homo sapiens.
I stand by my comments on the Iraqi conflict but agree with your sentiments about how most Americans view the world.
In Iraq, I think most of those other Coalition troops left the area several years ago, when Obama had declared victory. The recent ISIS battles were driven by local Syrian and Iraqi fighters, with strategic help from Russia and the US. Logistics, materials, air power and associated intelligence (satellites) that only we can provide made all the difference to troops on the ground.
