Islam - an insulting request.

I know **Christians have done horrible things **but it is not condoned in the Gospel or by Jesus.

Something you may not understand is that killing ordered by GOD in the Old Testament is people, place and time specific. The ordered killings were of people that were doing horrific things, really disgusting things.

The Quran allah’s supposed final message for man is for all times - all non-muslims are not innocent, Islam is to reigfn supreme under all costs. Yes they were good muslims. Their Quran, Mohammad and Islam condone such actions.

In fact
Don’t be a lazy believer!!
4.95 Not equal are those believers who sit and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit. Unto all Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit by a special reward,-

The only sure way a Muslim can reach paradise:
9.111 Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.
You are not a Muslim. Your interpretation of Muslim scripture (and a translation at that) is liable to be faulty.

Neither am I, and to suggest that just because there are stories of killing in the Hebrew Scripture it means that Christians believe that it is OK to go around killing people is either very serious ignorance of the facts or a very serious intentional distortion of the truth. I will assume the former.
Some Christians have used those texts to justify killing, for example witch burnings. How are we to tell which are the “True Christians” and which are misinterpreting the Bible? Similarly how are we to tell which are the “True Muslims” and which are misinterpreting the Qur’an?

All religions have examples of violence being done in their name. It is pointless to single out Islam.

We know when we live by the Light of Christ…when our natures are conformed to the image of His Son…when the world looks at how we behave and face adversity…when they see Jesus in us. Our belief and rituals and creeds are of no import when the world cannot see Christ in our lives…and when the precepts of this world overshadow the clear words of Jesus on how we are to treat others.

As Christians we have to take the higher road. Love those who hate you, charity and mercy is given to all not just other Christians.
Our actions are what define us. As people both in the secular sense as well as in the Religious sense. How we handle difficulties, persecution, hate and violence we must follow in the foot steps of our Saviour and be and example as he was.
What we have in the end is the TRUTH. Our examples will help others see.

I hope they don’t get this mosque built so close the 9-11 site but if it happens so be it.
With God on our side who can stand against us?

Muslim extreemists may have been responsible for 9-11…BUT these Muslims who wish to build a house of worship WERE NOT. It is a broad brush to paint the over 1 billion Muslims responsible for a few terrorists who happened to be Muslim that destroyed the WTC.
So they weren’t the same people or even type of people but they are of the same religion and the act was so horrendous and so recent that those wishing to build a mosque must either be extremely thoughtless or they ARE making a point. I believe the latter may well be the case, it is unlikely that any group of people is that stupid. Either way this should be resisted and it is perfectly reasonable to do so.

Do we make decisions based on fear of others? Do we let the evil of a few men damage our perception of a host of others who do not share the procivities for violence?

We are making assumptions…based on speculation of what these people want to do…we have no facts…we are wrong…plain and simple…when we make our decisions based on how others treat us instead of on how we are to treat others…we’ve lost anything of value to offer this world.

We can assume goodwill (if you wish) but we can still point out emphatically that this is unreasonable if only from the point of view of the bereaved, in case they forgot to take this into account. I would certainly have voted against this proposal with an absolutely clear conscience.

“Placed by the World Trade Center”…I thought it was two blocks away? They must be very small “blocks” if it’s “placed by the WTC”…do we now cast our words with “half-truths” and “fear based” accusations?

Whom do we trust in? The “arm of man” or the “Arm of God” in our midst? Can we see the face of Christ in the faces of our Muslim citizens?
The face of Christ is in all of us should we choose to see it. Obviously, muslims do not choose to see Jesus for who He is, whether their choice is through ignorance, fear or lack of faith. This is against God’s Plan; we should Trust in Him but that doesn’t mean we have to lie like sitting ducks and wait for another disaster to hit in order to be politically correct. Just recently there was a failed attempt to bomb Times Square.

blogs.wsj.com/metropolis/2010/05/18/failed-times-square-bomber-reportedly-planned-other-attacks/

These terroists are attacking and it is Jihad and justified in their minds and it is so for many more muslims. In the meantime christians should show charity to those in need.

Peace

The mosque is not like a small chapel…or like the Catholic Franciscan church shaped like a tear in Jerusalem that represents the tears shed by Christ because Jerusalem rejected Him and His words.

The mosque will be 13 stories high, be an event center…there are those on its council who have a most questionable background with ties to jihad.
Sounds fine to me, the Manhattan skyline could use some more interesting and attractive buildings. Can you provide me the names of these people on the council with ties to violent radicalism?
The vote should have been done by the citizens and not a small, left wing faction that is normally anti-Christian.
I’ve never heard of having a vote (other than by city council members) before approving zoning for a place of worship. I’ve never heard of a city council not made up of citizens. In any case, why have special rules for Islamic worship centers that don’t apply to Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Hindu, or Buddhist ones?
The mosque will be quite large and be used to promote Islam. There are many Muslims who do not wear ancient dress. They tell me the ones who are political and who are working to promote Islam are those who wear foreign clothes, sue, and impose.

Too much too soon. Better to be prudent and wait. We are in the middle of war and terrorists are already coming through the borders.
The size of the mosque, and the mode of dress of its attendees are irrelevant. This is not my war, and I will follow Christ’s teachings as best I understand them in dealing with whatever aspects of your war or the actions of people who mistakenly think I am their enemy impact my life.
But love ye your enemies, and do good…

Insensitivity here to suffering of people, of America and its grief, our soldiers who have died, and the rest of the world that also stood in horror of this great atrocity of the downing of the World Trade Center.

This is no time while we are at war to support such a mosque.

First of all, the name. Any one know of Spain’s history? Islam overran Spain for 700 years, plundering, killing. Cordoba is the name militants often invoke when they recall the glory of the Muslim occupation of Spain. There is talk that now after 9/11 that they want the mosque in Cordoba back.

During the year following 9/11, there was a great generation of talk among Muslims in America that it was Muslims who discovered America…more notes to draw on to justify the entitlement to the world.

The Cordoba House is 13 stories tall, costing $100 million dollars that will have a community center and sponsor Islam propaganda as it has been doing throughout America at the hundreds of mosques nationwide…Anybody ever wonder how and why after 9/11, the Muslims are now appearing all over the country to make their voice known? The media does not portray Islam having much love for our country or Christianity…but here they are.

It was 29 to 1 the Board there approved of the mosque, and it wasn’t for feeling good or tolerant but it was to get the money.

Where is the money coming from? Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Iran all problematic countries funding inordinate amount of money into such sites.

Finally, who is Imam Feisal Abdul Raif??

There is a glaring lapse of information of who this man is, and for this alone, you cannot believe he is a moderate. One of the men standing in the picture with him is tied to one of the umbrella groups of the Muslim Brotherhood.

It is always the stand of the Christian to turn the other cheek…and it is also in the history of Christianity and its ongoing need to defend itself from extermination by hostile forces.

People do not know the history of Islam and its conquests, its staking and claiming new frontiers through slaughter.

There were reports of Palestinians and other Muslims rejoicing in New Jersey when the Towers went down.

IF people want to turn the cheek, feel good about being righteous as a Christian, my salute to you. But the public is only now finding out, the sale is looking like a sell out for the NY international financiers/globalists to get the money…

Insensitive and now a sell out for some shekels.

True … but you would think that they would be able to see the insensitivity of doing that, eh? I’m sure some would … might be good if they speak up. It then wouldn’t matter whether it got built or not.

Not speaking up makes it look like they are totally oblivious to the insensitivity of it all.
