Islam says that Jesus did not die. So, again --Islam has proven to be false; because Muhammad claimed the Gospel is true, and all 4 Gospels testify that Jesus died and rose from the dead. God does have a begotten Son (not made, but one with the Father), which Islam denies. The Jewish Torah / Taurat (Tawrat) clearly indicated this over 1000 years before Muhammad and Islam. In addition their are collateral 1st century sources that testify that Jesus was put to death. In the “Annals” written by Roman historian Tacitus, in Book XV, Chapter 44 we read “Christus, the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius.” Roman historian Josephus also wrote about the death and Resurrection of Jesus. Even Satan says that Jesus died on the cross. Also, the Roman Historian Seutonius wrote in his work “Life of the Emperor Claudius” the following about Christians: “and deny the gods of Greece, and worship the crucified sage, and live after his laws.” The Roman historian Pliny wrote about Jesus’ death in Book X of his Epistles. Julius Africanus, quoting Thallus another Roman historian, who wrote in about 52 A.D. about the miraculas happenings the day the Son of God was killed. He wrote: “On the whole world there pressed a most fearful darkness; and the rocks were rent by an earthquake, and many places in Judea and other districts were thrown down”. Like Muhammad, Satan also cringes in fear at the sight of the cross.

of course it is false, because it denies the divinity of Jesus Christ. It really doesn’t need to be anymore complicated than that.
 
Islam is false for many reasons. For one, Mohammad isn’t a prophet. Here’s why:

Begging the Question Fallacy - When someone says something is true because it’s assumed true.
  • Example: Mohammed’s prophethood. He claims to be a prophet because Allah has chosen him, yet he himself gave the revelation in which Allah says Mohammed is a prophet.
  1. Mohammed claims to receive revelations.
  2. Revelations claim God appoints him to be a prophet.
  3. Therefore, Mohammed is a prophet.
Appeal to Authority Fallacy - When someone claims to be an authority on a subject, and therefore, his claim is true.
  • Example: Mohammed on the prophets. He claims to know who the prophets of the Bible are based on supposed revelations, but he isn’t a true prophet (see above fallacy).
  1. Mohammed claims to be a prophet.
  2. Mohammed says this and that about the prophets of the Bible.
  3. Therefore, his claim about the prophets is true.

Because it’s not for the same reason. The jews believe the messiah is yet to come even though he did! All jews are obligated to convert to catholicism as jesus was the messiah promised to them. Obviously many jews did convert and realised that Jesus was the messiah, the new testament is the fulfillment of the old testament.

Where the Koran has absolutely no corrospondence with the promised messiah or Jesus the old testament or the old. it teaches a completely different faith with different doctrines.
 
I think we should present some meaningful explanations to our Muslim members of why we do not believe it to be the true religion of God. 🙂

First, let us review one important fact of Islam: it was begun when Mohammad was visited by a supposed angel

Narrated 'Aisha:
He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family…The angel came to him and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, “I do not know how to read.”

The Prophet added, “The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, ‘I do not know how to read.’ Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, ‘I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?’ Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.” Then Allah’s Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, “Cover me! Cover me!” They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, “I fear that something may happen to me.” [Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3]

An angel physically attacks Mohammad, barks orders, terrifies him (all of which no angel has ever done), and gives him a revelation that, over time, becomes the Koran. What does this revelation teach?
  • Christ is not divine (S. 5:116)
  • Christ was not crucified, let alone died on the cross or was resurrected (S. 4:157)
  • The Trinity is a lie (S. 5:73)
All of these contradict the Gospels specifically and the New Testament in general. This presents several problems

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. [John 1:1-3, 14]

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. [Galatians 1:6-8]

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. [2 Corinthians 11:13-14]

For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. [2 John 1:7]

So Islam is begun by a message that presents a new gospel that does not come from the Church, and one that preaches against what is taught in the New Testament. To Christians this is a major sign that the Koran is not of God. Yes, it came from a supposed angel, but as Paul warns, even demons can appear as “angels of light” to deceive mankind. If you read about early monastics, there are many recorded examples of this.

I will perhaps add to this later, but this is, God willing, a starting point.

One notable trait of the New Testament is that it continually quotes the Old Testament. For example, in Acts 2 alone you find Joel 2:28-32, Psalm 16:8-11, and Psalm 110:1 quoted. Move on to Acts 3 and you’ll find Deuteronomy 18:15,18-19 quoted along with Genesis 22:18 and 26:4. Moving away from Acts, Romans 9 has twelve Old Testament citations from five different books. It goes on and on from here. Find a copy of the UBS Greek New Testament, which has Old Testament citations in bold print, and you’ll find every other page lit up.

The point is, the early apostles, right or wrong, knew their Old Testament scripture. Furthermore, they used that scripture to confirm the teachings of Christ. They did not argue that the Jews had corrupted their scripture, hid scripture, or tarnished it in any way. Rather, they argued with the scripture and kept it intact. The Old Testament confirmed the New Testament, rather than the New Testament confirming the Old Testament.

Now I recognize that it is common for Muslims on this forum and in Islamic apologetics in general to immediately jump to the argument that the Bible was tarnished. Nevertheless, the Koran itself states that the Torat and Injil were the books sent down to God’s people.

It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong). [S. 3:3]

And yet we find something very different in the Koran than we do in the New Testament: no direct citations or quotes. Instead, what we have are name-dropping of prophets and vague references to certain events like the flood. Nowhere in the Koran is the Old Testament or the New Testament directly cited. The question is…if Allah did indeed send down the Torat and Injil, why couldn’t He quote it at least once? If Mohammad really is foretold in the Old and New Testaments as the Koran claims (S. 7:157), why couldn’t the Koran cite relevant passages like the apostles did in the New Testament to confirm the coming of Christ?

What we have here, then, is not only a revelation that contradicts what came before it, but seems to completely ignore it. It cites the Jewish and Christian scripture as books sent from God, but refuses to quote it. It cites that the Jewish and Christian scriptures confirm Islam and Mohammad, but can’t even quote one passage to prove their point. The question that Christians therefore have is: why did God change His method of revelation? Why must we suddenly abandon what we knew and believed in simply because a man 600 years later claims prophethood without engaging in meaningful exegesis?

It is very ironic that the devil, when tempting Christ, quoted scripture more often than the Koran did.

If you were to receive a message from god, you would i think be only too happy to receive it as Our lady did. Not be terrified like mohhamed was, apparently he had to be convinced by his then wife the messages he was receiving was from god.

If a message comes from god, i think you will know it’s him.

People did feel fear per say, however, it was not like Mohammad felt. No one coming into contact with God or an angel felt like they were going to die, and were so terrified they went and hid themselves.

Rather, they realized they were in the presence of a great holiness they never believed could be possible, and that made them realize all their faults. One analogy could be when we hear a police siren or see a police car with the lights on zooming down the highway behind us - our immediate reaction is to think on what we’ve done, and if it’s us who is in trouble.

As I said, the fear was one of our own sinfulness before the Almighty. Two notable examples of this:
  • The prophet Isaiah came into contact with God, seeing His glory with the Seraphim flying about praising and worshiping the Lord. His first reaction was to cry out, “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty” (Isaiah 6:5). Here was a prophet of God worried about his sin, not because he was evil but because such holiness humbles us.
  • Saint Peter, seeing the miracle of the fish nets, realized that Christ had used him to perform a miracle even after he had been so rude to Him before. Falling before Christ, Peter cried out, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!” (Luke 5:8) Peter recognized what he had seen and who he was with - and he reacted out of humility, as any of us should.

It is a sin to make a man into a God. Otherwise Jesus could be a divine person i.e. beloved of God. If the Jews admit that Jesus was divine and he was God then we Muslims could be guilty of ignorance. Otherwise the Catholics are the odds one out in this matter. So Islam is not false but it is the present day beliefs of the christians which are false.

Once again you’ve got it backwards. Christians have not made a man into God. God became Man. You just don’t wish to recognize Him.

Since when is truth decided by a vote? If we used your method of determining truth, Islam would be false. As of the early 21st century, Christianity has between 1.5 billion and 2.1 billion believers, representing about a quarter to a third of the world’s population and is the world’s largest religion; with 1.3 billion to 1.8 billion Muslims, Islam is the second-largest religion in the world. Therefore Islam is false based solely on numbers.

But the main reason Islam is false is that it uses corrupted books to prove itself. How do I know the books are corrupted? Mohammed said so.
