Here is what the Koran says about Jews:

The most vehement of mankind in hostility [are] the Jews and the idolators.[Surah V, v. 82]

Eucharisted, That is true but needs correction. Quran says that the worst people for the Muslims are the Jews and the idolators… The better people are the christians… Please see the verse 5:82 below:

[5:82] Thou shalt certainly find the Jews and those who associate partners with Allah to be the most vehement of men in enmity against the believers. And thou shalt assuredly find those who say, ‘We are Christians,’ to be the nearest of them in friendship to the believers. That is because among them are savants and monks and because they are not arrogant

[5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people

Please rearrange the translation as follows. Replace the word “Friends” by the words “Allies” or “Supporters”. The word used in Arabic is Wali which means an ally or supporter or a guardian.

The Arabic word for friend is “Khaleel” not “Wali”.

[5.51] O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies; they are allies of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for an ally (supporter), then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

[2.113] And the Jews say: The Christians do not follow anything (good) and the Christians say: The Jews do not follow anything (good) while they recite the (same) Book. Even thus say those who have no knowledge, like to what they say; so Allah shall judge between them on the day of resurrection in what they differ.

I hope it is still true.

[2.120] And the Jews will not be pleased with you, nor the Christians until you follow their religion. Say: Surely Allah’s guidance, that is the (true) guidance. And if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you shall have no guardian from Allah, nor any helper

Pismopal, that is even worse. Had you said that the venom is against Muslims, it would have been better. It is the present day Muslims who may be at fault, not Islam. But anyhow, it would still be much better for the followers of Jesus if there was no venom at all. What do you say?

Muslims are people, some good… some bad. islam is the root problem. It is not just “present day” muslims who are the problem. What were they doing in Tours, France in 732? By the way, Charles Martel “The Hammer” was also a follower of Jesus.
I agree that it would be better if there were no venom and I’m certain I could get even a few people in Mumbai to agree.
Since muslims consider me a “kuffur”…don’t you think it would be helpful for you to lecture muslims about the venom issue?

Pismopal, you are a non-believer in Muhammad. You are not a kafir by any account of Quran unless you abuse or fight to downplay (harm) Islam. I am sure that is not the case. So you are not Kafir.

If you are a Jew or a christian or a Hindu or a Budhist etc, you are still not a kafir. because Quran calls such people as the people of the books. Unless you are an atheist, even then no harm. Your matter rests with God. You are not required to give any report of your good religious health to any one. Nobody should hurt you for being an atheist too.

I am talking from the Islamic (Quranic) point of view. As long as you are peaceful innocent person, you need not worry. I have addressed you as an example. It applies to every one of us of every faith. Even applies to Muslims too. If they are not peaceful and not doing good deeds, they will suffer (See verse 2:62 of Quran).

Doing good deed is not killing any one in the name of God.

All that is certianly true and I’m sure many muslims share your belief. HOwever, it is also true that the more fanatical forms of Islam are being preached throughout the world and the many mosques are funded with money from those who wish to teach that jihad against America and the west is proper.

So that we have a situation where more and more moderate muslims are attending mosques where fundamentalist forms of Islam are being preached and affecting the views of more and more moderate muslims.
