Isa, the fusha word is muhallil. The first husband is the muhallal lahu. Not all Muslims accept it, so as usual you’ll hear “this is not Islam”.

yes there is one, and i wanted to reply to you as soon as you asked about it previously, but i was reluctant since the word used here is maybe a Lebanese dialect rather than a fusha word. Anyway the word is “mhallal”…is it the same in Egyptian dialect?
ahoo! huwwa da!

And for fuSHa

haad hiya dhii! haa huwa dhaa!

THAT’S IT!

Shukran!

muhallil: he who makes permissible/lawful, who unties the not, who sanctions, who justifies, who absovles, who discharges (!), who exonerates, who exulcaptes, who resovles, who dissolves: analyst.

Btw. more sordid details I don’t want to sully this forum with.
answering-islam.org/Index/M/muhallil.html

Btw, this is utterly against the OT, although the NT would favor remarriage (treating it as never been dissolved in the first place. Btw in Illiniois at least, a remarriage of the parties nullified any divorce. The case law is less clear now: some decisions say it doesn’t nullify the divorce decree only renders it void).

As I say, JesusYahweh must have been having some pretty harsh words with himself about his own laws.
Blimey! Thats a harsh law,me. Why the dickens did i do that? The next time I make a genocidal rape law, Im going to really get angry with myself
My, my. I think we’ve stumbled on a chip. Did that come off your shoulder?

“These men. Their imagination of their heart is evil from his youth. They mean evil, but I shall mean good to bring them to My Day. The inquity of the Canaanites is complete, they cause Israel to forsake my covenant and play the harlot: but I will save those who can be salvaged…[Then a thousand years later] time to come down and make all things new, and bring them back to My origianl plan.” (Genesis. 8:21; 50:20; 15:16; Numbers 31:16, Mat. 19:4; Rev. 21;5)
It’s almost as if God himself was slowly falling into line with human values 😃
(Human values of AD 100 anyway)
So there’s no God. Now who do you blame?

I’m going to go out and a limb and guess that you’re a believer in “progress” (it went up in smoke up the chimney at Auschwitz, btrw). Perhaps you prefer the family values of today’s rap artists to the Church, or even “human” values of 100 AD. Or even c. 1400 BC?

First paragraph:Sorry; havnt got a scooby what you mean. Is that some sort of justification for genocide? Or was it a generalised attack on atheism? Eitherway, its better explained out of the scriptual gobbledegook.

Who do I blame for the genocide? The Jews on the occasions of massacreing the tribes of Canan. Well actually not “the jews”, but their religious leaders who killed in the name of their special god.

Yup, I beleive in progress.(stay in the mid 300’s AD yourself if you like)
What has auschwitz got to do with progress. Thats the result of a catholic raised austrian bloke creating a religion based with him as a deity. New symbols, new scripture, bigger mass prayer meetings, but otherwise the standard religious fare.

Human values will always be on a scale of hidiousness to wonderful enlightened values. From Rappers to Peacemakers.

Throw religion out of the mix and progress is possible.

Yes, Uncle Joe Stalin certainly thought so.

Your paragraph on human values is incomprehensible.

Auschwitz. Weimar Germany was the most liberal, the most democratic, the most sophisticated, the most progressive society on the planet at the time. That’s where it led.

Hitler was quite the humanist. He had no use for God, or God’s Church. Haven’t read what he says on the church in “Mein Kampf,” have you? Have you read “Mit brennender Sorge?” Probably not.
  1. No, I’m in 2008. I’m just not foolish enough to think that the passage of time means, “every day, in every way, we’re getting better and better.” The 20th century inflincted more carnage and misery than the 300s or the Dark Ages could imagine. And both Hitler and Stalin were atheists (Mussolini was not baptised by his antireligious, socialist father), so sorry, don’t get to blame religion for this one (not that I think it’s going to stop you from trying).
Have any idea about the Canaanites? Human sacrifice, temple prostetution, ritual blood letting and mutilation…they had it all. I’m going to bet you’re an animal lover: they also ritually tortured animals (one of the reason for the strict butcher rules for Kosher).

Your first paragarph is also incomprehensible.

General attack on atheism? Oblige me with specifics, and I’ll be more specific.

“Not A Scooby” means not a clue why you quoted that scripture.

Rudolph Hess 1920: “I know Herr Hitler very well…is religious…a good catholic”
Goering :“Only such a catholic could unite Germany”
Hitler 1922:“My feeling as a christian points me to my lord & saviour as a fighter…in boundless love as a christian…as a christian i have a duty to fight…as a christian…a duty to my people”
There is of course much much more, even the Nazi Belt Buckles reading “God with Us”
Hitler 1933:“People need & require this faith,we have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement”
Hitler 1941: " I shall remain a catholic for ever" (To Engels)
Etc Etc.
But hey, thats ok. I beleive he was originally a christian catholic who wanted to be a messiah for Germany. He made National Socialism into a religion worthy of the Inquisition.
Lets ignore all that and call him an atheist.

The slaughter carried out by these “Atheists” was done in the name of atheism following atheist scripture.No-god Ackbar! No?

Oh.

Thats because Atheism isnt a doctrine, has no scripture, dosnt tell people to kill, dosnt tell people they are special or superior or that others are dirty for cutting the wrong end of the egg.

Evil can be done by anyone, but never so happily or with such conviction as those with “faith”.

Speaking of not a clue…what are you getting at, Tommiatkins? Your profile says “monotheist”, a rather odd self-designation for someone who is apparently so repulsed by religious ideas.

Also, according to the Wikipedia article on him, Hitler stopped attending mass after leaving home, so he would be a lapsed Catholic at best. He certainly did not follow the principles of the faith, at any rate.

As a matter of fact, it turns out that he would have rather abandoned Christian trappings in favor of something else:

"According to one confidant, Hitler stated in private, “The Mohammedan religion too would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness…” (Quoted in Speer, A. (2003). Inside the Third Reich. Weidenfeld & Nicolson History, 96ff.)

How about lets cite a source? Because I’ve read plenty of Hitler, and no, he wasn’t a good Catholic boy.

Wrong again, to say there is no God, is as much a creedal statement as there is no God but God (to go with your cheap shot Muslim theme).
has no scripture,
many religions don’t either.
dosnt tell people to kill,
oh, those under communism (ooops, Scientific Materialism. The Oxford English Dictionary published for the Soviet Union so defined it as at the demand of the politburo, the publishers abdicating their freedom and responsibility for some pounds) willl be glad to hear that, especially in the Former Soviet Union and Cambodia.

ditto.

Just simply citing the simple fact that atheism and systems founded on it or adopting it as a principle (Nazism falls here I believe) have killed more that the Wars of Religion, Inquisition, etc. combined. I think the Khmer rouge far outdid the Spanish Inquisition. at least 10 to 1.

Been to Tibet lately? The Dalai Lama (btw, many forms of Budhdhsim are atheist) hasn’t, but Chicom has.

Don’t confuse us with sources and facts.

You had no sensible reply to my post. Only blames and counter blames. I did not start this thread of investigation about sex. Then you absolve yourself from the bad deeds of the christians that they are not christians.
Not so easy for you to disown and getaway. Please do not be ignorant about what is going on in the christian dominated countries. For your information, marriage is null and void. They do not marry any more. Are you not responsible for that? You are as a preacher to the whole world about Jesus teachings, it is your first responsibility to look after your own people first. Thanks. I only wanted to tell you that I was not really impressed by your replies.
Planten, the point that you are not willing to recognize is that both of our religions have members doing things that even you consider disdainful, but the Catholic condemns it, while Islam condones it.

to: Planten:

Not once in the Whole bible does it condole or even promote the behaviors of David, or anyone who used multiple wives. In fact it teaches the opposite. In many casses it gives much Consequences to these mulitple partner relations.

However make no mistake that GOD our Everlasting Father can take those mistakes and still fulfilly his will.

**The bible does not promote the behaviour of David. Does it say anything good or bad about it? I am more interested in anything said by Jesus that man should take only one wife and no more.

The Quran advises us that in necessity we may take upto four wives. But it immediately says that one wife is the best. I feel that nothing could be better than that. The bible does not say that man should take only one wife.So why are the christians trying to enforce something which was not commanded by Jesus. They are making their own laws.

That is not allowed. Please come by your book only and prove your point. Otherwise you are making up things which are not there in your religion. Even the father of Jesus had two wives. What do you say about that please?**

Again:
Planten, Jesus said “the two shall become one flesh”. One plus one equals two.
And never in the Bible is there any mention of Joseph having two wives. Is this some concotion the Koran cooked up?

Communism is as much of a religion as national socialism or Islam or Christianity.
Mao’s little red bible
The Red star not the cross
Song of national unity in place of hymns
Red square parades, =pomp and dogma
Deity worship, a picture of Stalin on every fireplace
Creeds, The party is the sheild of the state…etc.

David was a king and he made mistakes. God rebuked his bad behavior when David committed adultery with Bathsheba and implied that marrying several women would cause problems.

Apart from David, the Bible says Moses, the giver of the Law, had one wife. Abraham, the father of Jews, eventually had one wife. What more examples do you need from the Bible to see that God would rather men adhered to monogamy?

This is simply your personal interpretation. The Koran never says that monogamy is better than ploygamy or advisable. Likewise, the Koran does not talk about necessities when it allows men to have four women. The God of the Koran never asks men to take Adam as their model for marriage.
Even the father of Jesus had two wives. What do you say about that please?
Where did you read that? Please cite your sources. 🤷

WOW !! You couldnt be more wrong, and your accusing me of making things up?. AND one WIFE would be best!!? Whatever !

Jesus’ father had more than one father !!? I dont think so. Jesus’ father was the GOD Almighty !! And his Guardian was Joseph. Now he did have 1/2 Brothers and Sisters. That you can claim.

Look at the very beginning of scripture where “I am” states that man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his “WIFE” Singular. NOT PLURAL. All over the new testament it states that a man who leaves his WIFE (again NOT PLURAL) and beds with another is ADULTERY !! ADULTERY !! Many condemnations are made against both Solomon and many others including David for their actions. This is why David lost many good men and why the Kingdom of Israel was all but wiped out…

You have got to be kidding me seriously… You cant be that serious.

Since I doubt Planten can, and I don’t want error to be spread:
  1. Jesus’ Father never had a wife, because God the Father, His Father, is Spirit.
  2. Jesus’ step-father, according to the Protoevengelium of James, the (step-)Brother-of-God, first patriarch of Jerusalem, the Panerion of Ephiphanious (of Salamis, but from Palestine: the pertinent parts are from his letters to the Christians of Arabia), etc. was a widower, i.e. his wife DIED. He would have remained so, having had children (who are the ones mentioned in the Gospel) but he was chosen to be the support of the Holy Theotokos (marrying a girl off was how she was provided for in those days). St. Joseph had only two wives, he had only one and was faithful to her until her death, and was faithful and chaste to his second wife, the Holy Theotokos.
Btw, I just so happened to come across a Muslim catechism today, which asks “How many wives did the prophet have?”(12) “How many concubines did he have?” And then a discussion about his Jaryah Maryam, and then about how to number the wives since there is uncertainty about which were married and which were concubines etc. Quite edifying reading for the Muslim youth.
