Islam under attack? Or under a debate?

Sorry it was Sixtus who claimed poverty was a factor in terrorism. Post #19.

PS: committing suicide is haram in Islam, but not shahadat.
Even what Sixtus says must be understood with his context. In post #19 he said:
Terrorist and Religion are in the main mutually exclusive.
Most terrorism is based not on religion but politics. I have never heard of a terrorist who was motivated by religion. They are happy to ‘use’ religion as an excuse, but they are usually not religious.

Terrorism in the main is also the consequence of a problem not its cause. Poverty, in justice, racial hatred and desperation are usually the ingredients which make a very good terrorist.

This thread poses an interesting question. I would suggest the answer is that Islam is under attack.
Rodrigo, See? how disgracefully you misqouted Sixtus?

Sixtus is not just talking about poverty but injustice, racial hatred and desperation as well which can make a normal peaceful man a very good terrorist. Just like if you are a nasty drunkard Christian husband who gives hard time to your own peaceful non-alcoholic wife on constant basis for years and years, then one day your such nasty behaviour can turn your own wife into a killer and she may even kill herself after killing you.

By the way have you heard a recent incident of a woman who killed his priest husband (in the West)?

And this makes sense. Otherwise show me where in other parts of the world where Muslims are in full power are killing non-Muslims with suicidal attacks? Why it is happening only in Iraq, Afghanistan and in occupied Palestine? By the way, there is no way to know whether all these acts reported in media are indeed suicidal or people whose names are Muslims are being framed by the enemies of Islam in order to give Islam a bad name and to divert peoples’ attention from:
  • the atrocities committed by the Zionists in Palestine for more than half a century and
-from the War which is actually for Oil and not for giving freedom to people of Iraq or Afghanistan. Otherwise West would never have supported tyrants like Saddam, Zia in the past and Mubarak, Pervez and other Kings for decades upon decades.
When O.J. Simpson was convicted of murdering just two people, do you know how long his case ran in a U.S court of law? Did anyone claim that Mr. Simpson should be punished just based on prosecution’s claims, before court process/jury’s verdict is out?

But 9.11 is about the deaths of thousands of innocent people among them there were Muslims too, and this incident happened in the most advanced country yet you think some “muslims” from backward country(ies) were good enough to carry out such acts with such precision without any problem simultaneously? Wow…you are giving too much credit to those supposed “Muslims” for deceiving the most sophisticated system of the most advanced country–the only Super Power of the World–the USA. Only a fool believes in this theory and especially when this is not proven beyond a shadow of doubt in any court of law.

Why do you think now a great number of Americans (in them there are University Professors, Engineers, learned and intelligent people) are challenging the accuracy/trufullness of official theory? Are these Americans too ignorant and out of mind?

Is it not possible that official theory could be wrong (or perhaps sincerely wrong) just like how prosecution case was wrong againt Mr. O.J Simpson or even how a verdict of guilty was totally false about a Black American–Mr. Rodney King? Or how the case against Iraq to go after the whole Iraq and Saddam, presented in the UNO was false and this falsehood not only was later admitted by Mr. Powell but he regrets too.

Lastly, if it is proven that some supposed “Muslims” or some people whose names sound like Muslims, from backward stone-aged country(ies) were indeed the culprits, even then what actions of these individuals have to do with Islam and the rest of the billions of peace-loving Muslims around the world?

But the very God of Christianity, as portrayed by most Christians, was ready to die by being totally defenseless and helpless. Why he hated so much his own life? Is it not a prime example of committing suicide? The whole structure of todays Christianity stand upon a suicidal death of Christian God.

…Why he chose to die at the very young age of merely 33? Could he not have lived more atleast upto the age of 60 or 70 and by performing more miracles save more Jewish people from dying and healing atleast millions of sick Jewish people if not gentiles? How a Christian can follow such suicidal behaviour in order to be called a follower of Christ?
I’m sure the “razor episode” will be showing up soon, eh Beconvinced? How long will it take for this ID - Peace - to be banned?

Sixtus:

Peace,
Sixtus listed several factors he thought contributed to making a terrorist. I pointed out that poverty isn’t one of them. How is that misquoting him?

What makes you think I have to prove/disprove everything he said? I was only making the point about poverty and terrorism. What you are asserting is nothing more than a straw man.

indeed, when will you quote to us about God shaving our hair? 🙂
Are you talking about Levitcus 14:9-10, which says:

9 And on the seventh day he shall shave the hair of his head, and his beard and his eyebrows, and the hair of all his body. And having washed again his clothes, and his body,
10 On the eighth day he shall take two lambs without blemish, and an ewe of a year old without blemish, and three tenths of flour tempered with oil for a sacrifice, and a sextary of oil apart(Douay Rheims Bible)

These verses are not about your God shaving your hair unless if you have a different version of the Bible coming from different source.

You are a guilty of misqouting Sixtus because you are commenting on his statement which is taken by you out of conetxt by forgetting the other ingrediants which he mentioned alongwith poverty.

Just re-read what Sixtus said with full context and stop fooling around. You cannot fool knowledgeable people.

Nope, that’s not it. Something to do with a preoccupation with Assyrian barbers by alwaqt.

Seeds of Suicide
India’s desperate farmers
July 26, 2005
Suicide by pesticide: It’s an epidemic in India, where farmers try to keep up with the latest pest-resistant seeds only to find themselves trapped in a vicious cycle of pesticides that don’t work, drought and debt. Since 1997, more than 25,000 farmers have committed suicide, many drinking the chemical that was supposed to make their crops more, not less, productive.
This week on Rough Cut, you’ll join FRONTLINE/World correspondent Chad Heeter in verdant Andhra Pradesh, an agricultural state in eastern India where last summer an average of seven farmers killed themselves every day. **In this part of the world, machinery, chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and hybrid seeds – all of which originated in the West – often spell disaster rather than prosperity. “This is the other side of globalization,” **says Heeter, a student at U.C. Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism.

And here is another most recent report:
One suicide every 8 hours
Jaideep Hardikar Saturday, August 26, 2006
Vidarbha remains a grim statistic. One suicide in every eight hours. More than half of those who committed suicide were between 20 and 45, their most productive years. The Maharashtra government [of India] says as many as 1920 farmers committed suicide between January 1, 2001 and August 19, 2006. Nearly 2.8 million of the 3.2 million cotton farmers are defaulters, reports Jaideep Hardikar

In an another state of same India-Kerala:
`35 farmers had committed suicide in Palakkad district’

PALAKKAD : District Collector K. Ajayakumar has said that 35 farmers had committed suicide in the district due to debt.

And according to an American Newspaper NYTimes:
On India’s Despairing Farms, a Plague of Suicide
By SOMINI SENGUPTA
India’ s economy may be soaring, but the agricultural industry remains its Achilles’ heel. In 2003, 17,107 farmers committed suicide.

And don’t forgot Reverand Jim Jones:

And don’t forgot Reverand Jim Jones:
Jones orchestrated the mass suicide of 912 followers
"An influential Indianapolis preacher since the 1950s, Jones formed the People’s Temple (1955), which he eventually moved to Ukiah, Calif. (1967) and then San Francisco (1971). After Jones became the subject of criminal investigations, particularly regarding his alleged diversion of cult members’ donations for his personal use, he and about 1,000 followers relocated to Jonestown, Guyana (1977). In Nov., 1978, U.S. Congressman Leo J. Ryan was killed by cult members as he attempted to leave after an investigatory visit. The following day, Jones orchestrated the mass suicide of 912 followers, who were compelled to drink cyanide-laced punch. Jones died the same day of a bullet wound in his head.

And David Koresh:
On Feb. 28, 1993, a deadly shootout near Waco between federal officers and Branch Davidians, a Christian religious cult headed by David Koresh, led to a 51-day siege that ended in a blaze that killed 83 people. (among them there were children too)
The Suicide Capital Of America
Every year desperate men and women make the pilgrimage to the gambling capital to kill themselves. More than once a month, a visitor commits suicide here, according to Clark County Coroner records dating to October 1998.
By comparison, Atlantic City, N.J., had about one-third as many nonresidents take their lives during that period. In the same six years, no one committed suicide at Disney World.
“They pick Las Vegas and kill themselves,” former Clark County Coroner Ron Flud said. “It’s a fact.”
As a footnote here is an eye opening report about:
Why Vegas is America’s suicide capital
THE American gambling meccas of Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Reno all suffer significantly higher suicide rates than comparable cities that outlaw gaming. A new study suggests that cities pay a price in public mental health when they cash in on gambling profits.

This reminds me why the Holy Quranic says:

O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan’s handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper. - (The Holy Quran - Surah Ma’idah 5:90)

O ye who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves in vanities: But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily Allah hath been to you Most Merciful!
If any do that in rancour and injustice,- soon shall We cast them into the Fire: And easy it is for Allah.
- ( The Holy Quran - Surah An Nisaa 4:29-30 )

Nope, that’s not it. Something to do with a preoccupation with Assyrian barbers by alwaqt.
Are you referring to this Biblical verse in which your God says:

5 Woe to the Assyrian, he is the rod and the staff of my anger, and my indignation is in their hands.

But Assyrians are not barbers. The Assyrian shall be a rod for punishing Israel: but for their pride they shall be destroyed: and a remnant of Israel saved, acording to Douay Rheims Bible.

From where did you get the idea of Assyrian being barbers? Please qoute your Bible and tell me the name of your Bible because there are so many different contradictory versions of the Bibles which talk different things.

Don’t be ridiculous. You’re merely constructing a straw man in your weak attempt at ad hominem.

Oh… and don’t forget the shaving between the legs question.

Is that the same guy??
He’s persistent, you gotta give him that! :yup:
Though I’ve only been posting here for little while I’ve seen at least two IDs of his get banned. Here’s a funny bit of information: he got banned a dozen times or so on an Islamic website - Whyslam. But his arguments are so repetitive and his style so obvious that he is quickly found out. 👍

That’s funny!:rotfl: He never changes his style and seems obsessed by that bit about shaving, it’s always a complete giveaway! We’ll just have to wait with bated breath to see what new name he comes up with to surprise us. Unless he changes his MO though, he’ll be out on his ear again!😃
