It is a myth that a majority of muslims espouse violence.

Where do you think that the terrorists get their inspiration to commit atrocities from? Some special terrorism manual not available to the ordinary Muslim? Though these manuals probably exist, they get their first indoctrination from the Quran, the book that Muslims all over the world consider the word of God. How can anyone having such a hate filled book drilled into them be a peaceful person? Just because most Muslims may not resort to violence does not mean that they do not support or condone it since their false god exhorts them to it.

Anybobdy who believes Islam is a peaceful loving religion is deceived. A sound bite or two condemning Islamic jihadist doesn’t reflect the true heart of Islam. There are millions of Islamic radicals worldwide and jihadism is driven by the Imams, clerics, etc.and the Koran itself. Every place on earth where there is war, civil war, genocide, suicide bombers, assasinations, beheadings, honor killings, the blowing up of mosque by suicide bombers, the degredation of women, Christians and Jews, …and so on and so on…not to mention the American Hiroshima where jihadist want to kill 5 million Americans and want 2 million of them to be children…All of it is cause by the hands of Muslim’s.

All I can say is that I believe Islam will authenticate itself as the religion of the beasts’ sometime around the November election.

And I also believe they will commit horrific attacks at the China Olympics.

Too many christians have pity on peacefull Muslim’s. Why sympathize with them when it is their religion, their leaders, and their books that support jihad and who drive these radicals?
America will soon wake up to the true Islam and should ban Islam from America after the next attack which will be even more of an abomination and far outdo Sept 11.

I am not impressed with an English language edition of an Al-Jazeera publication, particularly when virtually every person cited as condemning the London bombings is a political, not a religious personality.

There are a great number of highly-regarded Imams, Mullahs, Ayatollahs, scholars and Muftis in Islam. Some have a lot of influence. As I said, when they get on Al Jazeera’s televised broadcasts, and in their language (not something written for Western consumption only) and say the things I mentioned, I will believe Islamic religious leaders really do see their religion as one of peace. Until then, I will judge them by their silence, and their religion by the actions of its devotees.

I don’t expect them to do it on street corners. I’m sure security at Al-Jazeera is tight. Essentially every other television station in the Middle East is state-controlled, and I am sure the states involved can provide security for more local telecasts.

That’s not bias. That’s just common sense, based on observation.

My point remains - many Muslim organizations condemn terrorism and support efforts to defeat terrorism. I am not defending Islam, saying terrorism does not exist, or any other misdirection you try to apply to this thread.

There are many examples of Muslims, Christians, Catholics, and Jews who commit acts of sin, terror, murder and worse.

Barbara J. Stock thinks all Muslims are evil, Pope Benedict, our President, and many other authorities do not.

I have not defended Islam, I am a Catholic because that is what I believe. But unlike you I do not hate those who do not believe what I do, our Church and Bible all teach that EVERYONE is made in the image and likeness of God, they are God’s creatures, and we are to love our neighbor as God. That is not defending Islam, that is defending the innocent people who believe in Islam that are not terrorists.

You can choose to read and believe people like Barbara J. Stock (and her credentials are …?), or you can read and believe our own Pope and others. I should ask you, if you are Catholic, why DON’T you follow our Holy Father?

In the past christians of ever denomination have made many claims like Protestantism is the beast, the Reformation is the beest, or the pope is the beast, then the secular state is the beast, then communism is the beast or China is the beast. Islam is now the latest fad to be the beast.

Well it’s not rubbish if you don’t know what I’m talking about. It does help to know the universally accepted Protestant view of prophecy. One that I’m not in agreement with.

This is not the place for me to back anything up because it’s off topic and we are off topic enough… As time goes on I will express my views but not here and not today. I apologize that my response is off topic. I can’t keep up with the replies as it is.

I use to believe the main Protestant theory for over 20 years. It didn’t take much research to see that it was a far stretch of the imagination. You know the scenario… A rapture hurls the world into a seven year tribulation led by a European global dictator/antichrist and the Pope is the false prophet who unites the world’s religions. Then this antichrist signs a seven year peace treaty with Israel and lets them resume animal sacrifices in the temple only to have them cease in the middle of the 7 year period. etc.

And of course those who do not relinquish their will to this demonic duo will be not be able to buy or sell. Some say that none can be save during this period unless they are beheaded.

It has been a while since I’ve dealt with historicism and preterism. I know I threw out those theories in the early seventies when I was studying for the ministry.

It’s difficult to prove anything to a christian because they approach everything with preconcieved ideas. They already have their mind made up about things and are quite unwilling to consider other views of prophecy. The bible say’s that prophecy is of no private interpretation.

God also say’s that He would make known the end from the biginning.

I am God and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.” (Isaiah 46:9,10)

This verse works against the idea that God would chose not to disclose the events of the end which are quite dramatic. His second advent is one of wrath and one of power and dominion. It is one of great glory and one the saints and martyrs in purgatory or paradise anxiously wait for they know the ressurection is near.
It is one where he destroys them who destroy the earth.

Rev 11:18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

And nations…

Hab 1:5 ¶ Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for * will work a work in your days, [which] ye will not believe, though it be told [you].

His prophets of old prophecied His spectacular return and some of the events that surrounded it. God tells us more about the end than you can imagine.

This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, their tongues will rot in their mouths. On that day men will be stricken by the Lord with great panic.” (Zech. 14:12,13)

“I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat and will plead with them there…” (Joel 3:2 KJV)
The New American Bible reads “I will enter into judgment with them there.”

All I can tell you is that people are beginning to smarten up and some are getting away from pretribulationism and the revived Roman empire theory.

In reply to some of your other comments.

It’s obvious that the koran promisses women and virgins in paradise from the verses I read. I’m not sure how many virgins they are rewarded with, but it appears to be dependent upon the intensity of the abomination. You know, the more dead infidels will likely result in more virgins.

Much of those teachings are up to the clerics in Shia Islam whereas Sunni Islam goes more by the koran. But radical Islam is driven by both as well as the actions of infidel nations.

Someday, all christians will see the light on this entire prophecy thing. And I would rather be sitting on the branch that I am on than anyone elses.

So (it will be). And We shall marry them to Hoor (fair females) with wide lovely eyes (al-Dhukhaan 44:54)

They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Hoor (fair females) with wide lovely eyes (al-Toor 52:20)

Al-hoor al-‘iyn are extremely beautiful

Therein (Gardens) will be Khayraatun‑Hisaan [fair (wives) good and beautiful];

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny?

Hoor (beautiful, fair females) guarded in pavilions;

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny?

With whom no man or jinni has had Tamth [opening their hymens with sexual intercourse] before them.

Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny?

Reclining on green cushions and rich beautiful mattresses.”

(al-Rahmaan 55:70-76)

And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allaah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him}, (Soorah an-Nisaa, Aayah 93)

Indeed, whoever (intentionally) kills himself, then certainly he will be punished in the Fire of Hell, wherein he shall dwell forever", Bukhaaree (5778) and Muslim (109 and 110)
