Jermin Savory --- Post 60:
In the name of Allah

The Eurasian: Do you know where God is?

Jermin Savory:

Surah QAF 50:16

"It was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein. "

The Eurasian: Do you know where God is?
Jermin Savory

Actually, unlike most Christians and Catholics here, I used to live in a dormitory with a couple of Muslims. Several times a day, there in front of me, I’d see them get their small carpets and put them on the floor towards Mecca. There in the very same room where I was, they would pray. That’s why I was asking you because I was wondering if they were praying or worshiping. And they did this many many times in front of me and I tolerated it without a single complaint. To me we are all created by the same one God and we are all decendants of Abraham. I try to understand the decendants of Hagar and as I have told you, Muslims have prayed their way many many times in the same room where I rested.

I was wondering whether you would answer Mecca. But you didn’t

At anyrate, we Christians believe that God is everywhere.

In your answer to me, why is the pronoun in your answer PLURAL FOR CREATOR? It says “It was WE who created man…”

Do you know where God is?
Excuse me for interrupting:

God (Allah) is above His Throne.

Proof:

" He who created the heavens and the earth and what’s in between them in six days. Then established Himself above the Throne… " The Noble Qur’an 25:59

God is near His creation through His knowledge. He is The All-Knowing, All-Aware.

peace,
deen

Alhamdulillah Deen, very good answer.

Jermin Savory: ** In Arabic, when Allah refers to Himself in the Qur’an, He often uses Arabic word ‘Nahnu’ meaning ‘We’. It does not indicate plural of number but plural of respect.

The ONE GOD in the Koran sometimes uses PLURAL when addressing HIMSELF.

The ONE GOD in the Genesis CREATION ACCOUNT also sometimes uses PLURAL when addressing to HIMSELF.

SO???

FuzzyBunny116: Actually, I’d like to see a thread on that. Sounds very interesting. I finished “The Case for Christ” and the evidence that he did die and there was no time for myth seems pretty compelling, I’d like to the other side.

Jermin Savory: Evidence that he did die? Someone has shown you evidence that he did died? Sounds good, I would love to see your evidence of the “death” of Christ. (P) Why don’t you start a thread, titled “Case for Christ.”? Then we’ll examine the evidence.
Code:
                        ** Surah AN-NISA 4:157**
"And their saying: Surely we have killed the Messiah, Isa son of Marium, the apostle of Allah; and they did not kill him nor did they crucify him, but it appeared to them so (like Isa) and most surely those who differ therein are only in a doubt about it; they have no knowledge respecting it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for sure. "

Someone beat me to it. I think its called “Islam and the Crucifixion.”

Fuzzbunny: Someone beat me to it. I think its called “Islam and the Crucifixion.”

Jermin Savory: Islam has nothing to do with the crucifixion. Islam means submission to the will of God. Submitting to Gods will doesn’t have anything to do with the crucifixion.

I meant its a post on whether or not Jesus was really crucified, or if the Muslim belief is true.

Fr Ambrose:
An account wonderfully worth reading of ther recent miracle which the Mother of God gave to a Muslim and his family!

This is from the Abbot Father Ignatios of the Holy Monastery of the Shepherds, Bet Ahur-Bethlehem, in which a miracle of the Mother of God took place during Holy & Great Lent, March 2005 in Syria.

This is "The Miracle in Syria"
Further to the Syrian miracle of the Mother of God…here is a web site that features the Saidnaya monastery: saidnaya.com/

Also, a note from Matushka Thekla Hatfield at St. Herman’s Seminary in Kodiak, AK who spent some time at the monastery:

I have been to the Saidnaya monastery in Syria. The miraculous icon is one of the icons painted by St. Luke. There is a most beautiful fragrance that fills the small room where it is kept.

I didn’t find it, but is there a link to that story and perhaps others on the site?
