What is it in the teachings of the Islamic religion that justifies the violence that we are seeing toward the Danish?
Granted, a Danish newspaper printed an offensive cartoon of the prophet Mohammed, but is the burning of the Danish and Norweign embassies justified?
In light of the events taking place concerning the publishing on a Danish newspaper and eventually other European papers too, of blasphemous cartoons of the prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him), in the name of freedom of Expression, I feel it is only too right, in the name of freedom of expression, to put pen to paper and communicate with the readers over this issue.
It seems that some people take the term freedom of expression, and freedom of the press, a notch too far - that for them, freedom of the press means insulting and offending others and their beliefs in the process.
Freedom of speech was created so that people could speak out and criticize their corrupt governments, not for people to offend others. Those newspaper editors who, in the name of Freedom of Expression, decided to include blasphemous cartoons of the prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) could, in the name of freedom of expression, have published naked photos of their mothers, sisters, wives and daughters; they are free to do that and I would not put it past those immoral and evil people.
In the name of freedom of speech and expression, why not write and unveil their corrupt leaders, who lie and cheat their way to power? Why not draw their homosexual and lesbian leaders in full action? Why not write against all the fornication and adultery that goes on in the West, and all of the alcohol and drug abuse that is killing their people and their economy?
Maybe that will help them sell some more papers in the name of freedom of expression. Or are they happy with all of that corruption and the way their corrupt leaders are running the world, killing innocent Muslims in the name of freedom. Maybe they too are part and parcel of these lies and corruption, hiding under the banner of freedom of expression. Maybe they too are as corrupt as those who rule them.
This has been an ongoing war against Islam and the media is part and parcel of this too; and as usual they hide under a banner in order not to show their true colours.
In the name of Freedom of Expression, Muslims around the world have chosen to boycott the products of those countries that are so intent on blaspheming the name of the prophet (peace be upon him). And rightly so, as that too is freedom of expression, the freedom to choose what to buy, and what not to buy. It’s a means of expressing unhappiness. Muslims too have this freedom to boycott another country’s products in the name of freedom of Expression, and can exercise it. This has actually strengthened the resolve of the Muslims, as scholars have called for a world-wide ban on Danish products, and it seems it has started working on their economy already. Many shops and supermarkets in Muslim countries have pulled Danish products off the shelves and on the individual basis Muslims have woken up and have joined together.
Islam the religion of over 1.2 billion people all around the world. It is not a ball game, or a pack of cards, or a toy that one can play around with when one feels like and expect 1.2 billion Muslims to remain silent about it.
Islam is not just the religion brought about by the prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) - it is a way of life that was established long before Mohamed (peace be upon him). It was established in different styles under different names by different prophets. The final form of this way of life was brought about and finalized by the prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him).
Muslims live their lives emulating the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and any insult geared towards him is not taken lightly by Muslims. Islam not being a religion of lip service, any depiction of the prophet (peace be upon him) in any way whatsoever is strictly forbidden, let alone offensive ones done in the name of so-called freedom of expression.
