Israel launches air strikes on Syria after thwarted border attack​

Jerusalem (AFP) - Israel launched air strikes on Syrian military targets in southern Syria late Monday, after thwarting an attack near the Israeli-occupied sector of the Golan Heights.

In Damascus, the state-run news agency Sana said Israeli helicopters rocketed Syrian army
positions near Quneitra in the south but caused only material damage. It also said air defences had gone into action near the Syrian capital.

The Israeli army said its fighters jets, attack helicopters and other warplanes struck Syrian army positions in retaliation for the attempt to lay explosives in the Golan Heights.

This is probably a bit more serious than usual but it would not surprise me if the rage dies down and no major conflict though, Israel appears ready. They saw the latest possible incursion as being very alarming.

In fact, reports are that today, more bombings have occurred.
 
How dare Israel defend itself against outside aggression the way any other country would!
 
I suppose it’s better than the US, which defends itself by bombing civilians on an entirely different continent.
 
The worst thing is that innocent citizens are most often the victims in Syria.
I remember the testimonies of war surgeon - David Nott about the injuries of innocent children after the bombing in Palestine and Syria, its even traumatic to read.
Such horrors are not shown on the news.
The news may report about successful attacks on enemy, and so on, but in reality, often the entire families there with women and children die in terrible tortures or or live in agony, in the throes of a disabled people till the end of their lives.

Sometimes during shelling, perhaps this is a dirty tactic to strike from schools and hospitals, but it is also true that civilian people hide in areas of hospitals.
In Syria, for example, after hospitals were bombed and medical personnel began to be killed , in some places there was a disaster, that is, patients whose lives could be saved by surgery were dying from lack of untimely stopping
of bleeding, lack of blood transfusion, lack of timely amputation.
I’m not talking about the fact that many could have gone to the next world just easier thanks to morphine.
Because the surgeons, anasthesiologists, whose coleagues were bombed and shot began to leave with their families.
