These types seem unable to see beyond their own wants and demands. Most Catholics would humbly accept the North Italian Bishops measure that’s meant to protect the elderly and vulnerable among us. I personally don’t fear coronavirus as much, as my family is fairly robust healthwise but I recently read that death by coronavirus is like drowning. It’s a dreadful death that needs to be managed very palliatively.

These people don’t seem to give a toss about anyone but themselves it seems to me.

And why cant the remedy be as simple as exempting the vulnerable, or anyone in fear for that matter, from obligation to attend?

I’m confused… I thought that what the “clandestine Masses” were trying to do, and you are against?

You’re being sucked in by the tabloid muckrackers. Last week on Ash Wednesday the Bishops distributed ashes and said Mass for small groups who requested them. Why would Priest offering Masses in the same spirit be “clandestine”. They have just suspended crowd Masses for the time being to prevent the spread among the vulnerable. Why do people continue to read this tabloid fodder?

And, of course, look who wrote it: Mr. you-know-it-all-who. Well I don’t see Mr. Vortex’s love for those who will contract the virus and die. In fact, why doesn’t he step up and take one for the team? Right.

If God were this petty, we would all be in flames.

Well, I didn’t… i looked at the headline, saw your reply and asked a question based on the assumption that you were giving in to the “fodder.” Nonetheless, point taken!

Good for those priests. That’s a great point that was made about priests in England under King Henry VIII who defied their bishops that capitulated.

Not enough priests to serve my 1100 household parish in “small group masses”.

In Northern Italy, the little Masses are being offered for groups requesting them. Not for everyone and just in small groups. I personally think that is a beautiful way of carrying each other especially those who are most vulnerable to the disease.
