Italian priest charged with molesting youngsters

Sure all priests are human, all priests fail. Just as you & i fail daily!

When i can do 1% of the good done by our priests, then i will be able to criticize their failures!

Jesus taught us; “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; 38 give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.”** (LK 6:37-38)

Jesus went on to say; "Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but every one when he is fully taught will be like his teacher. 41 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? (LK 6:39-41).

i would argue that we are the “blind leading the blind” & we are falling into the pit together!**

Even if there was one guilty priest in the world Zatzat would find him.I believe that in Zatzat’s mind even one incidence of perfidious sin condemns the whol;e Church.

To take HIS logic further all heterosexuals should be condemned because 4-5% are heterosexual and homosexual,pedophiles and hebephiliacs vs. the 1.2% of Catholic Priests who are hebephiliacs.We are rooting out ours,the ones that hide in families,boy scouts,sports associations,TEACHING,will never be rooted out because of the world’s (and some people’s on these fora I could name) irrational hatred of anything Catholic or even Deist

Once we have a pristine priesthood again which in reality we do anyway since 98.8% of priests are innocent of this particular sin,then the world will have to face its own stinking hypocracy.By the way each priest,Bishop,Cardinal,and the Pope is a sinner as is each member of other religious orders and ALL the laiety-except athiests and mirror worshippers of course as its all just a nightmarish Fairy Tale to them

That is a job for the Police.

I simply look for published news stories, from reputable news sources and then post them in the appropriate section of this forum.

People like Zatzat are ignorant of things called facts. The facts are the incident rate of pedphilia in the Catholic Church is the same or lower than all the others. The highest rate is in the home followed by school. You won’t see people like this protesting those institutions though.

There is absolutely no question that the largest number of sexual assaults against children occur in the home.

That horrific fact, I do not deny.

However, this is a Catholics News section and I posted a Catholic news story.

They’re not all negative. On the 12 June 2010, I posted this very positive story about a lone Catholic Priest. Not one single forum member posted a reply, which rather surprised me, as it was a most uplifting story.

I post a negative story and I’m set upon like I’m a rabbit being devoured by a hungry pack of wolves. 🤷

Yes, that is a good question, Zatzat. Three stories to the Catholic news section today, and every one of them is about a priest (or in the case of one, a former priest) accused of molestation.

Out of all the Catholic news stories out there, those (one of which was a year old at least) were all that you cared to bring ‘to the table’ for discussion?

When on another thread you started you’re all upset about the Church NOT excommunicating a rapist?

And then after that suddenly it’s ‘priest abuse story 1, 2, 3’ and counting. . .

I’m not a mind reader but unless you get all your sources for Catholic News from the Jack Chick News Channel, the fact that you start a thread about your ‘concern’ over excommunication of the mother agreeing to an abortion for her child, but NOT the excommunication of the rapist. . .followed by threads on "this Catholic priest has been abused of sexually abusing minors’ might just possibly be viewed by people as part of a strategy to paint the Church as a corrupt and evil institution full of evil pedophiles who prey on the minds of credulous people but who only go after ‘certain people’ or sins and coverup or ignore other things. . .when they themselves are far ‘guiltier’ than the poor downtrodden people they ‘excommunicate’. . . Not that I am saying you are doing any such thing, of course. . .as I said, I’m not a mind reader.

I’m sure you have an excellent reason for posting those priest abuse–and only those–stories in the Catholic news section, And naturally we’d be very interested in hearing it. I’m always interested in why people choose to do the things that they do.

I’m rather puzzled at the anger being directed at me and all for posting a factual news story about an accused criminal.

This doesn’t make any sense.
 
And thank you for that positive story. I don’t know how it was missed the first time. Of course, I’ve had the occasional ‘thread killer’ posts and even ‘thread-killer’ threads in the last few years; sometimes it just happens that either people are not on and the thread gets ‘missed’, or sometimes there is a really HEATED discussion going on a couple of other threads and new threads just ‘sink’ without being seen because so many people are otherwise occupied.

Of course, I usually tend to think that in the case of my pearls of wisdom not getting a response that it’s not because people are deliberately trying to ignore me or that it is ‘strange’ that they don’t come and back me up everytime I ‘hit a home run’ and really NAIL a great story, but rather that it is due to things like the above–people being busy elsewhere or just not being around to comment.
