Hurray!! Good on ya Italian Court!!! If it was in Florida it would probably have lost!
 
Grazie Dio! I hope this old fool takes the hint and gives it up - and that the EU court he say’s he’s appealing to has better things to do.
 
Actually, Mr. Cascioli is the one who ought to be facing charges of “conning the public” for writing a book no doubt filled with misinformation and outright lies about what we can and cannot know about Jesus of Nazareth and the Christian faith. People who want to bring lawsuits ought to consider that the criteria they set up to try to bring down others might very well bring them down instead. As the Psalmist wrote: “The pit they dug for the righteous man, they have fallen into themselves.”
 
I just saw this. It seems that maybe, just maybe, sometimes common sense prevails.

The article I read (on CNN) had something that the judge suggested that the atheist should be brought up on charges for slander.

In it, there are two telling paragraphs. On the slander quote:
Judge Gaetano Mautone said in his decision that prosecutors should investigate Cascioli for possible slander.

And the next step for the plaintiff:
“This is not surprising but it doesn’t mean it all ends here,” he said, adding that he’s considering taking the case to the European Court of Human Rights.

Opps. I did not catch it.:o I was responding to the poster on a specific question and also to emphasize that his ultimate goal was always to bring this to the European Court of Human Rights.
