I’m actually divorced now 😦 It’s been a year and a half since I filed, but I’m much more upset about it that I thought that I would be! I need much strength right now as I start the annulment process and wait to see if I will live the rest of my life alone.

You are mourning the official end of your marriage and some of the dreams you once had. Perhaps you are also mourning the person you thought you had been married to, but discovered he wasn’t that person at all.

Divorce is rarely a time of celebration for most people because it marks a failure in life. But life does get better, even though annulment proceedings are glacially slow.

I was divorced in April of last year, and am still waiting to hear from the Tribunal. I am okay with that, because it takes the pressure off dating, and has allowed me to heal. Looking around, I see plenty of people who are single yet lead fulfilling lives, and I think that won’t be so bad after all, if the Tribunal rules that my marriage can’t be annulled.

I’ll keep you and Ailina in my prayers.

Honey, my heart is with you in prayer. When my civil divorce was over, I took my family to our local shrine and ended up praying the rosary with the Schoenstatt Sisters, It was so beautiful and healing, I really cried for the first time. It was so healing…
Fast forward 5 months, yesterday I assisted as Eucharistic Minister at a funeral mass for a parishoner that I did not know. It was the most beautiful spiritual experience for me, from the readings about the faith of leaning on Him, to the glory of suffering (which I am recently deeply understanding), to the honor of offering the precious Blood to dear people in mourning who needed Him so much. As I was cleaning up, I realized that this was not just a funeral celebrating the life of a dear woman ( I now wish I HAD known her, after meeting the family) , this was also a spiritual closure for what I had thought was my marriage. I have no idea when my annulment will be done, but my grief is over. My spiritual Lent is done, My Easter is here.

My reason for telling you all this, is that so many told me it would hurt forever, it would never get better. I am here to tell you Have Hope. When you are ready, Jesus will bring you a spiritual closure, a spiritual healing. You know the readings from Ecl. There is a time for everything, a time to cry a time to laugh. I pray that the Lord gives you the strength to submitt to the time of tears and perseverance to reach the time to laugh again. Know that you and your children are in our prayers…my daughter started praying every night for healing for all families and children who have to adjust to life after divorce. It gets easier if you willingly submit to HIS will. ❤️

I know your pain, feel it and get through it, but don’t let it overtake you. Every day gets easier, although their will be backslides. That is normal, but don’t allow depression to overtake your life. It’s a new beginning for you, take heart in that.

We’ll be praying for you.

Thanks to all for your kind words. I am giving everything up to the Lord right now. I recently lost my job and now can’t afford the home that we still own together. It’s been for sale but you know the economy  Anyway, fortunately I have money in the bank to get me through a couple more months. It’s hard making it on your own, in more way than one.

Bayoubutterfly, I’ll pray about selling the house successfuly and for a happy new beginnings for you.
