It's NOT in the Bible

What do you mean by this? Is it your assertion that the Church that canonized Scripture has also added to Scripture?
Oh, and I forgot, I, in the past, i found these books greatly inspiring…I was more asserting the catholic faith added the need of much in the order of salvation rather than adding to its bible. I was asserting that Catholics say more is needed than the scriptures, and the bible, whichever translation, usually says all that is needed to be saved.

“Convinced” I believe they said, not confused. So if u think the bible is not the only source does the bible state that? Where is it written? And if I say the bible is the only source, and it doesn’t state that, am I wrong for rejecting what i believe God would have me reject? Especially if God’s word, the bible, Jesus, says to reject those things? I say do what u want, but the catholic church has no authority to make people do anything, and defiantly not anything breaking a command set down by God in the bible.

In love
Precisely! The individual stated convinced the Bible is the ONLY source, thus chapter and verse where it explicitly states it is the ONLY source? As for confusion? If the Bible is the ONLY source and God’s Word, then why so confusion in regards to baptism, the eucharist, salvation, etc, etc?

And wrong! I do not do what I want,I repeat or parrot what scripture and Christ Church and his followers have been teaching long before you and I were even born. Second, what makes you believe the Catholic Church is making people do something against their own free-will? It is time to really learn what the church teaches and stop assuming what you believe it teaches.

I sure hope somebody’s talking to me after I’m dead (to be precise, after my BODY is dead). What part of the “communion of saints” do you reject?
Communion, understood, saints are alive too, not all are dead. The dead don’t wanna talk to me, I hope people let me pay attention to God when I am dead, let the talk to God.

The argument is that scripture is the only God-breathed directive that we have, and as such, is the only infallible source for determining what is or is not revealed by God.

I’m not quite sure how the subject of confusion logically touches upon the above.

The Bible does not say that.

Amen, the letters of the apostles, I love them, good stuff to follow. Now are they sufficient? Should anything be added to what they wrote? I believe not, else our bibles would have more than 66 books…oh wait…well the new testament would be bigger, you know, talking with the dead, kissing statues and whatnot. Keep all that, I will listen to Paul and Peter and Jesus’ other apostles. They taught the Gospel, and that, if u let it saves u.
So how do you know everything that Christ taught was written down? How do you know the Apostles committed everything to writing?

Christ did a lot more than is written in His word, it says so, and obviously it only touches on about 3 years of ministry, his birth and a few stories of his childhood. So if the catholic church is correct in its assumptions, a vision of a talking baby Jesus, or a shiny woman claiming to have extra-biblical knowledge, or if Peter showed up in the pews adding to God’s word, or anything outside of biblical text deemed taught by God by the CC would be absorbed into their rites rituals and dogma…not saying it has, just saying anything like that would not be needed for salvation. Everything needed for salvation is in the bible, there are no loopholes that God can take advantage of and have u cast into hell. If I am wrong please show me.

Oral tradition preceeded written, thus as you say everything is not in the Bible. Which of course the Bible itself states. Assumptions would be what “other” congregations use in interpreting the Catholic Bible which of course is who wrote it in conjunction with the Apostles teachings and Oral Tradition. So the assumption aspect would lean toward all those who do not follow this simple equation. Or have any roots to apostolic succession. Thus Sola Scritura

Look how many read Bible without understanding oral Tradition and are led astray? What 3300 different biblical understanding existing this very moment. Ah, so what is the issue? 🤷

God taking advantage of loopholes doesn’t sound like God, that would be confusion with satan. 🤷

:confused:shiny women? talking babies? these are some very imaginative misconceptions on what is deemed dogma or perceived dogma (we are not bound to believe in apparitions)

Why would God need a loophole?
Besides how are you fulfilling your obligation to eat the flesh of the Son of Man so that you may have life in you?

John 6:63, it was hard for his disciples to hear those words, eat and drink(be a canibal by just what he said). So he explains, his words are spirit. I am sure even jesus wouldn’t want us to chew on his arm or leg…maybe I am wrong.

How long were you a Catholic before you became an ex?

You seem to have no knowledge at all about the Eucharist.
