I have no idea what u are talking about, it’s early, maybe, so I’ll ponder this more later.🙂
I believe CH was responding to your charge that the Church had broken “a command set down by God in the bible.”

And I understand what the cc teaches…
Respectfully, what has become apparent is that you don’t.

You seem to fit the typical cliché of an ex-Catholic who has an axe to grind and therefore distorts the teachings of the Church.

I still read my cc catechism, a lot is spot on(scriptural). A lot is from the various councils, and to be honest I want the truth, not what some baptist says or some priest says, I want to know what God desires of me. And if a catholic has an axe to grind? Something needs to be addressed…whether its valid or not.

No argument from me there. In fact, just the opposite; I want to do what I can to encourage my brothers in Christ.

I agree - but someone with an axe to grind does not have carte blanche to distort the Church’s teachings.

Christ will shine his light of truth upon all things.

Actually, the bolded words of yours are false.

Nic do you really believe God needs an arbiter?
I would state that your assertion that the bolded words are false is itself false.

I would also assert that there is a distinct difference between GOD needing ANYTHING and what Nicea has asserted. The canon did not determine itself; rather, The Church, through the auspices of the Holy Spirit (who is GOD, by the way) imposed Her Authority (given to Her by GOD) and stated what that canon of Holy Scripture would be and it was MAN who later changed it.

Again, the spiritual authority given to The Church, by God, is what is reflected in the doctrines and the dogma of Holy Mother Church. To reject Her authority is to reject that which is stated in Holy Scripture.

I thought the church was the bride, not a mother, am I wrong?

And where is that stated in Holy Scripture?

John 6:63, it was hard for his disciples to hear those words, eat and drink(be a canibal by just what he said). So he explains, his words are spirit. I am sure even jesus wouldn’t want us to chew on his arm or leg…maybe I am wrong.
Yes you are wrong. Yes it is the spirit which gives life, the flesh is of no avail…ours. Why would Jesus gives us His flesh to eat and His blood to drink in order to give us eternal life, then change His mind?

I am saying his mind was for us to not be canibals, if the words he spoke on that instance were Spirit, then we eat in spirit, not in flesh. We are to consume him, in Spirit, and in that it gives us life…what is his blood? What is his body? The answers are in the bible.

Are you a cell in the Body of Christ? What makes you think that there are two bodies and one is eating the other?

[BIBLEDRB]John 6:51-52[/BIBLEDRB]

What was what he gave, what was crucified–His Flesh or His Spirit?

I don’t see Jerusalem and Rome having anything in common,
It refers to Christ’s Church.

See
[bibledrb]Hebrews 12:18[/bibledrb]
[bibledrb]Hebrews 12:22-24[/bibledrb]

Compared to this:

Praise and Glory be to God!

In Him.
