It's official: Cardinal Ouellet to Congreation for Bishops

After several weeks of speculation, Cardinal Ouellet going to Rome to head up the Congreation for Bishops. Good for him. He’s had to put up with a lot of garbage in the last few weeks.

And his replacement as Cardinal? One may hope that it is His Grace Terrence Thomas Prendergast of the Society of Jesus.

And before people freak out about the “SJ”, yes, he is one of the Good Guys.

Cardinal Ouellet is a machine! God Bless him with his new work in Rome! As for his replacement, Does ArchBishop Prendergast speak french? Cause that would certainly be a criteria!

God bless His Eminence, he’s been doing great work (especially the last few months).

ABP’s parish is Notre Dame in Ottawa which offers bi-lingual Masses. I’ve personally heard him speak multiple languages fluently, including French (and English of course). YOu wouldn’t get posted to Ottawa if you didn’t speak both of those (at least). And he’s also fluently pro-life and pro-family. Supports youth programs, traditional movements, and charismatic movements.

I fail to see how this couldn’t be a win-win.
