OK So here was I THINK everyone is agreeing on:
  1. Get thee to confession
  2. Get thee to some counseling - preferably from a Catholic counselor
  3. Get thee a new living situation if possible - if not you need family counseling - see #2
  4. Get thee to an MD about your mouth and other symptoms
  5. Learn to control your temper - others need to learn to control their dynamics
Amen?

And you’re interperting his “hit” as giving them a black eye!

Your teenage son sounds like a bit of a drama queen. All we can do is take the poster at face value…that he is being maltreated by two people who are supposed to care for him.

And, yes, he needs to seek outside help.

And mouth sores can indicate more than just herpes. They could be the result of some other disease that the OP is battling…and it sounds like he is aware that this is a problem and has tried to fix it for no avail…(what medical resources he has are still in question)

Yes. Anger is bad, yes, hitting is bad. Yes, he needs councelling But I’m just saying that abuse is abuse weither it comes from a man towards a woman or a grandma towards her grandson. Males can be abused by females, too.
Yeah, and insulting MY son is cool, Purplesunshine? sheesh rude.

I am not interpreting “hitting” as any thing other then hitting. Not a black eye - not anything. I am taking it just as the OP said - a hit. You can surmise as you want.

shame on the OP. It’s wrong and WE DO NOT minimize hitting women and grandparents. Period.

And we DO NOT INSULT other peoples children responding to threads. Shame on YOU.

You used your son as an example. Perhaps drama queen was inapropriate but regardless him saying that you’re “in his face” when you’re across the room is over dramatic.

And again, I didn’t say that the OP was correct in hitting. Just that people should jump on him and say he’s mentally unbalanced when they’res clearly much more to the story than a guy hitting two women.

A reason and an excuse are two different things.

The reasons OP hit are I’m sure, very real; feeling sick, etc., but they do not in any way excuse the behavior. Does being sick and in pain make it harder to keep your temper and emotions in check? Yes. Does that make it OK to hit people? No. Look at it this way…if he were in court (which realistically, he could be for this behavior otherwise known as BATTERY) the fact that he had mouth sores and felt sick would go over like a lead balloon as a plead to a judge. Reason or even mitigating factor does not excuse.

Like said in the above, go to confession, go to the doctor, and go live somewhere else. This doesn’t sound like a healthy situation for anyone.

I feel the need to address the part about the mouth sores.

If the op has not been to the doctor yet, and the sores are inside the mouth,…it may likely be a very simple thing to get rid of. My children had a case of thrush which is inside the mouth and is very painful. Once it was diagnosed it was very easy to get rid of.

If they are outside the mouth, a doctor needs to be seen for that as well.

In any case, they will not just go away without help.

I only mention this because I did not read anywhere that a doctor had been seen for diagnosis.

The hitting part has already been discussed by other posters.

Actually I do not know if all those ‘reasons’ would hold or not in a court - if the relatives went all the way into verbal abuse (big if, I don’t think we have enough details to say) he might have a case (at least here in Europe, and supposing completely truthful witnesses).
But we aren’t discussing whose fault it is (and the OP has already repented, there’s no need of guilt tripping him), but rather how to defuse such future situations.
Anyway, consueling could address both of those concerns.

I used my son as an example that the phrase “in someones’ face” is can be literal or figurative and the OP does not make distinction.

I did NOT invite you to be rude to me and INSULT MY child. Nor did that provide you any opening to insult MY CHILD. An apology is in order.

Unbelievable!

And I am not sure where people used the term mentally unbalanced for the OP.

But the OP does absolutely have anger issues and we should not minimize them by making an excuse that the OP was in pain.

I will not apologize because you made an example of your disrespectful, exaggerating child.

The OP is clearly sorroful for his actions and browbeating him will do no good. Others have used the term psycological…and I don’t know what else.

Anger issues, perhaps, but first we need to know how sick the OP is, weither he is being denied medical care, (in some places you can’t get your own insurance if your parent/guardian carries it for you, and you need their permission to get to a DR). And if the OP is being abused or exaggerating. All of these things need to be taken into consideration when it comes to the OP’s behavior. Yes, again, what he did was wrong, but if they are as cruel as they sound it may be understood.

Yes, he needs to get out and seek counseling but others should acknowledge that from the OP’s perspective these two women are verbally abusing him. It dosn’t matter if he’s male. Abuse is abuse.

The OP indicates that he is gravely ill (cannot eat or drink comfortably) and is being belittled to the point he feels as if he’s in hell. There’s nothing normal about that.

Hitting IS wrong, hitting in anger is worse, but provoking and verbally tourting someone to the point that they feel that they are in hell is also inexcusable.
If he feels like he’s being “belittled”…Then he needs to go get a job and get his grown butt out of his “belittling” grandmas house.

Bottom line…He’s a grown man still living with grandma who take’s care of him:o

^^^Then he repays her by “hitting” her:eek:

The fact that you defend him is sickening:mad:

He is 19. Yes, he’s a grown man. But that dosn’t mean that he should be verbally abused. I looked at his other posts and he is trying to immigrate to Canada to get out of his life in the Philippines.

He may not have acess to health care or even a real way to get out. Societal norms may have him locked into the care of the two. I don’t know much about that country, but I do know that family values are different when it comes to age. My cousins come from that country and from my understanding one is treated as a child (no matter their age) until they are married.

And I’ve said many times he WAS WRONG to hit them. But why, just becuase he’s a man, does that mean that it dosn’t matter than he is (according to him) being abused?

Yes hitting is WRONG. Yes, he is wrong to hit. I said it before, I’ll say it again. But there are extenuating circumstances which we must take into consideration…his illness and their abuse. He is clearly repentant. Now let’s move on and focus on him getting out of the situation, happy healed and healthy instead of acting like he’s comited an unforgivable sin and sending him to hell.

The OP said he can barely even speak. If he’s trying to get his aunt and grandma out of his face while they are harassing him while he is sick, but can’t vocalize I don’t think that hitting is indicative of a serious problem. How else is he supposed to get them to get out of his face? No, he shouldn’t hit. It was a poor response, but I can understand where he came from.

Can you imagine yelling at your nephew/grandson who has been sick for 3 months, can barely speak, and can barely eat or drink?

OP said his A/G were scolding him for not taking care of himself and not drinking enough water.

Do you know how many times I’ve gotten yelled at by my whole family for those same exact reasons?..I can’t tell you.

Have I ever hit them?..NEVER in a million years.

A/G who care about your well-being are notorious for scolding you about things like that.

I just visited my GM/GP about an hour ago…Know what they said right off bat?..

“You don’t take good care of yourself”…“You look hungary”…“You need to drink more water”…“You need more sleep and less work”…“You need to go to see Rabbi”…

Then I leave and 5 sec. GM calls me and says…“I didn’t want to say this in front of GP but
your Mother called and said you worry about me and GP to much and that worries me:eek::eek:”

^^^Normal from a fam that cares.

.

I have not seen the op respond at all, and it is not clear if he has been seen by a doctor and diagnosed.

All of these responses, Thanks so much. 🙂

If I’m not mistaken, there is a troublesome argument going on about my situation,

I’d like to address some questions to clarify things,

1.) am I getting medical diagnosis?
-I am, and for 2 weeks I’ve done all the prescriptions and forced myself to eat and go to a dentist, twice.

2.) are they abusive?
-in some cases, yeah, they can be very controlling, specially at times when they know that they are telling the truths or facts of any matter, they are easily, as in EASILY angered, for my grandma says she was “supposedly” mistreated when she was a child, and she’s very, very insecure about it, and my auntie always fights with my grandma because my aunt can’t simply ignore the tedious things my grandma says, which are said over and over again, everyday, it gets very frustrating, to the bone around here, other people have seen it, have experienced it, and are really sorry for us about our situation here.

3.) how did I hit them?
-at first I just destroyed a chair, for them to not speak for a while, it is again really really wrong to go and destroy stuff just because I’m mad, and I have no excuse for it, in my point of view, the lashing out happened because my aunt hasn’t stopped from shouting ever since I came, I was researching about what caused these mouth sores, and then my aunt told me to just eat, and I asked her: “have you had these kind of illness before, do you even know how much pain it causes me, it hurts like crazy, I just don’t want to agrevate it more” (In tagalog of course), and then my aunt said in a loud voice: “am I forcing you to eat something that will aggrevate them?, I just tell you to eat…” and so on, at this moment, my eyes blackened, I didn’t know what to do, they keep asking me questions, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to answer properly, (one time, when I just came home, I forced myself to talk just for them to not worry about me too much, but they just asked me to repeat myself because I cannot pronounce the words properly), I just hit the table and then threw the bag to her feet, my anger thought that it was the way to go just to let her stop, but she kept on going, yelling about how disrespectful I am, how arrogant I was for trying to make her stop by force, and she yelled and yelled, I felt like I should’ve just left, but no, with my anger, I destroyed the chair, my anger thought it was another way to make them stop, then my grandma came, and yelled at me as well about how I’m disrespecting people and how It’s lenten season or something like that, then it happened, while my grandma was protecting my aunt, who is in my grandma’s back, I tried to hit my aunt with my anger, It wasn’t like trying to kill her or anything, it was on the shoulder, and I kind of missed because of my grandma, my eyes cleared up when my aunt’s husband tried to hit me, three times, holding my hand and everything, he did, in the right side of my head, it has an abscess now, serves me right huh?, then I walked out the door, stayed out of sight for about 2-3 hours, in my luck, the holy catholic church is just in front of me, and I prayed crying, and asking forgiveness, but I felt like He’s dissapointed for having to create me, I felt so miserable, then I saw 2 people lying 9-10 feet away from me, and I thought to myself, “if my life is hard, think about them”, then the crying stopped, after about 2-3 hours of just praying and trying to endure the hunger, the mouth sore pain, the stench of me not having to bathe still, the pain caused by that much shame, the pain of feeling like being really taken away from Christ and his mercy, the cold weather, the tiredness from the adrenaline rush, the frustration that none of them even tried to contact or look for me, the fear of it happening again, the guilt of being not in control of myself, the fear that that incident would spread and everyone would hate me, or will be so weary of me that they wouldn’t want anything from me, the fatigue because I tried to help my schoolmates finish their project the whole night without, really, anything in return, and they didn’t even say thank you for it, the fear of not being worthy of having a wife one day because of what I did, I felt more pain in just 2-3 hours of sitting outside, than just the pain of 3 months with severe mouth sores that I don’t really know the cause of it. This is not exaggerated at any way, I feel like this was put mildly actually, I still feel these pains as of today, but like what another poster said: “forgiveness starts from Him”, so I’ll go to confession and have a talk with the priest this afternoon, thanks for all the prayers.

Continued in the next post…

4.)do I have a problem with anger?
-it’s more like my aunt and grandma have a problem with anger more than me, because most of the time I’m quiet and mild in any confrontation, it was just my mouth sores that prevented me from just telling them to stop, it’s not an excuse, I’m really sorry. my aunt and grandma are angry everyday, and most of the time at each other for not being able to control each other, everyday this happens and everyone here’s just too tired to talk about it because the topics that they fight about gets deeper everyday, it’s just too tiring. I don’t think I have control issues too, I was just provoked too hard and too much, with every word I say feeling like I don’t want to even open my mouth anymore due to the severity of this mouth sores, I can control myself most of the time, (my board-mates and cousins even praises me for how patient I’m being in the past, because my grandma has a problem with the way I talk, even if I make it a point to not sound disrespectful even if she is over-reacting about my bedroom or clothes or life, still she says words like: “if I only knew that you would disrespect me this much, I wouldn’t have brought you up, I would’ve just let you die when you were just a kid” (in tagalog again of course), she says these things out of hate for me, it’s just the way she is, kind of “hateful”, she is being calm ever since I went out of the house my cousins used to say, and when I go home for just 3 days, she looks for a way to get mad at me again, even if I’m just trying to relax in my sleep, a lot of times she’s a sweet old lady, but she gets her emotions way ahead of her too much, I’m not trying to destroy her, everyone here at home and everyone who had the “honor” of living with her can say the exact same things that I’m saying right now, without a shadow of a doubt.) I should get mad about a lot of things really, but I try not to let it get the best of me most of the times, this incident was the very first time I felt so much anger towards anyone, It’s unbelievably so actually.

5.)Am I living away from them or even trying to?
-YEAH, I’m in college now, and during schooldays I go to our boarding house, which is very near in our college, and I’m only home 3 days a week mostly, I’m 19 by the way, which is no excuse for hitting anyone, especially an old woman and my aunt who is the first to fend for me when I’m mistreated by my other relatives, It’s just the way they are and i can’t change their perception of me. The shame of being not in control, doubles whenever I think about the times she did, haays,. I’m truly sorry, I have and I will suffer for it for as long as I have to, but please forgive me, for not being the guy that I should be. Please…

GOD LOVES YOU>

Get on your knees and thank your Uncle for showing restraint. Had my nephew torn up furniture and hit ME in front of my husband, my husband would have cleaned that kid’s clock.

So it’s okay for his uncle to beat him because he destroyed 1 chair and threw 1 punch, but it’s not okay for him to destroy 1 chair and throw 1 punch because he is being emotionally abused.

Way way WAY over stated.

They are harassing him to do things it is painful for him to do. Badgering their sick nephew/grandson. He says it hurts to eat and the aunt says to eat anyway. And did you read about the fact he has an abscess from his uncle hitting him?

When a normally calm guy is being driven to destroying a chair there is something going on.
