Let it be known, that I am a guy… I am married to a wonderful woman who gets very worn down by our little ones:
Talk to your hubby. It is important for you both to be on the same page. Let him know that you need more “time” to “warm-up.”
Don’t wait till the end of the day when you are both tired. Time for warm-up tends to be short if people are tired. Get more sleep than you are getting now… everyone needs more sleep!
Make sure you focus on him and his needs/wants/emotions… It will help you to somewhat “forget/ignore” about the way you might be feeling. MOST IMPORTANT: remember, that feelings change… especially during a nice good “warm-up!”
Think about your prayer life. Many times when we pray, it seems as if God is very distant, distractions are close, and our emotions are very dry. Persevering through those times is very very difficult, and many times leads us to quit praying. If we do manage to persevere through those times, it actually brings us very close to God. Occasionally we will get a taste of the heavenly consolation. It is easy to focus, God is very easy to sense, and our emotions are all in tune! The dry times, make the times of consolation so much sweeter.
God bless you and Mary keep you.
