You don’t care what panoikei wrote, or what St. Ignatius of Antioch wrote?nor do I care what he wrote. Prayer warrior huh? I doubt He can hear you…that ego is pretty thick to try to launch prayers through

You’d think early Christian writings would be important to a protestant who wants to avoid the “corruptions” which the Church gradually introduced…nor do I care what he wrote.
This reminded me of a story about St Benedict and one of his Monks, who told St. Benedict heSo, I just, in great detail, explained to my wife why I no longer consider myself a RC and why I have left the Church. She totally understood and supports my decision.
I feel great, like the chains of bondage have been removed. The RCC is a fine institution and if some people can find God within that particular Church, then it is a very good thing.
The Church was holding me back, for years, this is an exciting time. I no longer have the distraction of the all the Catholic requirements that are necessary for any hope of my salvation. Those distractions also prevented me from forming any relationship with God.
When someone asks, ’ are you a Catholic’, I will respond, nope I am a Christian!![]()

I was referring to a posterYou’d think early Christian writings would be important to a protestant who wants to avoid the “corruptions” which the Church gradually introduced…
yes, we can all see what a great minister you are rev john.nor do I care what he wrote. Prayer warrior huh? I doubt He can hear you…that ego is pretty thick to try to launch prayers through
because they were not relevant at this time…they were used to try to browbeat…I am quite calm.while you seem to be ranting a bit…yes, we can all see what a great minister you are rev john.
hope God hears my prayers cause i’m going to pray for you to see the Truth.
when you calm down maybe you can explain to us WHY in the world anyone that considers themselves to be a Christian would NOT want to read the writings of the early Church fathers. why?
Please pray for yourself…I dont need misguided prayer.yes, we can all see what a great minister you are rev john.

And yet, they are also extremely important for understanding how the early Christians interpreted the Bible. There is a great deal of consensus on a number of important issues…because they were not relevant at this time…they were used to try to browbeat…
This thread…however…was not the time or the place for it.And yet, they are also extremely important for understanding how the early Christians interpreted the Bible. There is a great deal of consensus on a number of important issues…
This thread is practically an invitation for Catholic apologists to have a go.This thread…however…was not the time or the place for it.
I don think so…some others though are giving sterling example…I do hope I’m not responsible to setting the nasty tone. I didn’t intend it.
Actually its not…This thread is practically an invitation for Catholic apologists to have a go.![]()
What, did the poster expect high-fives from all the Catholics?Actually its not…
got me there…though he should have been able to expect civility. What, did the poster expect high-fives from all the Catholics?
I agree…This thread is practically an invitation for Catholic apologists to have a go.![]()
I knew that was going to come.
I don’t subscribe to those rules any longer. I respect Catholicism, but for me, it is hollow, restrictive and contains too many distractions.
So no, I no longer subscribe to the beliefs of Catholicism, including having to continue to meet the imposed requirements of an institution, by writing a letter to a man employed as a Bishop of the RCC.
Seriously, I really have left…letter or no letter…it matters not and God doesn’t care if I write a letter to a Bishop. If God did care, wow, talk about a legalistic Deity.
Funny thing is he assume much, not knowing I won and have studied the Rhiems translation. its sad really…if one day it turns out that its true about the RCC being the only true church, I guess they will have much to answer for, as to how their arrogance drove so many away…
Nah…
People, we have to remember that some non-Catholic Christian churches have “ministers” of just about everything. We Catholics assume that minister means something. In some other churches, a minister may be a person who teaches Sunday school, is in charge of snacks after church, in charge of music, etc.yes, we can all see what a great minister you are rev john.
hope God hears my prayers cause i’m going to pray for you to see the Truth.
