Here is your struggle, you feel bad since you are simply going through the motions and you know in your heart this is not good enough. Awsome, you are capable of growth, many people kid themselves, never awakening to this fact and go on with their lives deceiving themselves, thinking they are a good Christian, you on the other hand have seen what’s going on and have opened your eyes to it all.

You are in a stage of growth right now, it’s time to remain stead fast with your faith in God, do not let circumstance sway your stance, do not give it control over you and your decision to trust God to take care of you, for he will if you let him. Stop trying to do this on your own, lean on him, now more then ever and he will carry you through these times, leading you to a place of deeper spritual understanding and depth.

Here is a simple prayer that I say from time to time, especially during times of distress that helps me draw closer to God, you might want to try it, if you do so, try to open your heart to the words and say them in as humble of a manner as you possibly can.

I Love you Lord My God with All of my Heart, my Strength, my Mind and my Soul.

You may find the Holy Spirit reveal himself to you in a profound way, revealing his Love to you directly and physically in a manner that trancends human Love. Keep your faith in him and the church, if you confess and repent, that’s all that really matters, your heart will change in proper alignment, think of it as a test, just to see if you are still going to remain obediant to him, if you are going to go to mass, and be not decieved by any evil telling you otherwise, for it’s power over you is a lie, the same as it’s words, for it exists as a lie, and it cannot stand up to our Lord on any level.

I just can’t write it down. I have been trying for days. all of you have hit on some part of it. I’m just mad at God. My last oasis is being attacked and He is allowing it. Free will I guess. Too much lose in such a short time. It’s hard to reconcile. Tim

Dear TOP,

Everything the God allows to happen to us, even suffering and demonic attacks, He allows for our own good. God loves you more than you can understand in this life.

Now you have two choices here. You can shake your fist at God’s pruning shears and be angry with him for the suffering that pruning will cause you. If you do that, you will create more suffering for yourself. Or, you can accept His will for you with resignation and allow Him to shape you into something beautiful.

God has not abandoned you and is not ignoring you. Trust that He’s doing what’s best for you in light of eternity.

Tim, I’ve faced demonic attack as well, heck, I even have several online stalkers that just hate the fact my faith remains in tact, even more so that the more they do, the stronger it becomes. Heed my words on the lies you are being fed, you are much stronger then you realize, show your strength and become the rock that will not move, know that you will prevail because the Lord your God has not abandoned you.

Tim, you can tell God you are mad, God can take it.
You will feel a little better after telling God your true feelings.
After venting, ask God to protect you and not allow such attack in the future.
If there is any room to reverse the result of the attack, by all means plead for that.
Or better yet, use the mighty name of Jesus to rebuke the evil.

Yes, sometimes God allows bad things to happen. But that does not mean God want bad things to happen. God is a good God. He wants to bless us, not to strike us. He does not want to teach His children a lesson by bestow disasters. As a parent, would you bestow a disaster to teach your children a lesson?

Bad things come from the devil, from the consequence of our own mistakes, other’s mistakes, from sins, either our own or other’s, or from a series of wrong combination – wrong time, wrong place, wrong people.

In any of the above cases, I believe the way we pray could make a difference. Rosary is a powerful prayer, asking for St. Michael’s intervention is also effective. You can also use Ephesians 6: 14-17 to pray. And above all, remember to use Jesus’ mighty name and claim His mighty blood. Do this daily to pray for protection lest bad things may happen again.

When we are facing a bad situation, we have to know how to use Jesus’ name to rebuke the devil. As God’s children, we are given the authority to claim the blood and to use the Name. Sometimes I feel we Catholics don’t do enough to use the God given authority.

Take heart, God bless!

I love the visual along what you are saying with Christ being so powerful, that’s what Tim should focus upon, he indeed has absolutely unmatched strength!!!

That’s good advice. TOP, not knowing your particular situation, we can only respond in generalities - but what InLight says is true.

Hi Tim! This is so bizarre! I was just thinking about you yesterday and I don’t know why…although, I shouldn’t be surprised because this happens to me a lot…someone’s name will just pop into my mind. Maybe it’s bc I haven’t seen your name around the forum, I don’t know. My husband always tells me to pray for that person when it happens. Just wanted to say that I am sorry for what you are going through and I am praying for you. Perhaps, Fr. Corapi’s 911 prayers will be helpful, Tim. God bless!

I’ve tried to be a good christen. I firmly believe in God and have faith in Jesus, but I have no love. Without love, obedience fails. Worse, a grudge leads to unrepentant sins and damnation. I’ve reached out to Priest, to Dr.s, to family, to be only humiliated, unbelieved and cast aside. I thought I could count on my love, but it has betrayed me. Now the viper is coiled and ready to bite. One more poke with a stick and the poisen will flow. Tim
You’ve been around here for a while, and I would not “diagnose” you as “loveless.”

The grudge thing is definitely an obstacle. Just this week on *Focus on the Family, *Evangelical pastor, R. T. Kendall discusses the concept of forgiveness – about which he wrote a best selling book, Total Forgiveness. I have read it and recommend it highly. Here’s the link to Focus.

God bless you, my friend. By God’s grace, you WILL get through this dark time.

I have writing about ten response’s just to end up deleting them. I don’t know what to say. I haven’t been to confession because I’m not sure I’m going to go back to church again and that would be an invalid confession. I’m angry. I just went through a minor exorcism as a godparent in the Byzantine rite. I fell hard the next day and I’ve been getting worse since. Something is very wrong with me. Tim
Is your medical history playing a part in this? You’ve been through a lot – more than most of us.

Sometimes just “going through the motions” IS love.

I don’t know you, and am new to the boards…but please know that I am praying for you.

TOP,
Without knowing which is the real problem, here is my advice.

If it is a particular person who is bothering you, then pray for them.
If you are suffering dryness, perserve in prayer.
If you are backsliding into sin, go to confession.
If you are suffering because of an illness, seek your doctor and offer it up in prayer.

Always remember that this life is short, but God’s Love is eternal. Don’t let evil waste your time. Hate is especially a waste of time. Mercy and Love is much more powerful and is a better use of time. That’s why it’s so hard to do.

Jesus suffered too and He knows from experience what you are going through. Pray to Him for courage and strength and let Him take control of the situation. Just trust in Him.

Thank you all for the response’s. My marriage is in trouble. My wife and I have been together since we were 17, 20 years now.
My last confession , Father asked me to pray for the love that Jesus has. I could not believe he said that because I have already been through that lesson with the Lord. I was painfully taught that part of His love includes rejection of it. Love unreciprocated or at least to the degree it is given. I know I can’t love God as He loves me and He is teaching me what it feels like. The Lord teaches me in my lose’s. I don’t want to be taught this lesson. Tim

Tim,
In reading your many many posts, what I know of you is that you have persevered many trials successfully - difficult things that most will never go through.

You can push through this as well with God’s help.

Go to confession even if you do not feel like it.
A tiny pray such as, “Jesus help me” repeated often, is indeed a powerful prayer. Or when you are feeling anger, simply ask the Holy Spirit or St Michael for help.

You have given many people, including myself, great advice and prayed for many intentions of these forums. Time for us to kick in with prayer for you.

You can do this friend. God’s peace be with you.

I’m honored to be in the company of you guys here, our prayers especially combined matter, hopefully Tim receives the help and is given the strength he needs to endure these struggles.

I had a dream this morning, I was at a strange church, it was very elaborate and I followed in line to receive communion. Upon reaching the head of it, I entered a room, and instead of a priest standing there, the room was filled with people, young and old, sitting on the ground in deep meditative prayer. I wondered what they were praying about, I too sat down and began to pray. This was the first thread I read this morning, and seeing others convey their prayers towards Tim, I know what they were praying for.

Something else that might help, I remember a sermon I was told from Fr. Franklevic, I was a child at the time, he is no longer with us, but what he taught seems relavent to the discussion here, I’ll do my best to convey what he said, it was so long ago, I know it’s not possible to recall it word for word:

Being Luke warm is a dangerous spot to be in, too many people are that way with the Lord, neither cold, nor hot, they are fooling themselves into thinking they are in alignment with God. If one were on fire with the Lord, he can do his works through them, if one is cold, he can work through them yet again, this time, the person is going to be alarmed at their state, knowing something is wrong. Being luke warm, you are closing yourself off from God, you may have some sence of sprituality, yet nothing profound coming from it, your position is sluggish, dull, inneffective, thinking you are earning your way to salvation, simply going through the motions and thinking that is all that you have to do.

I know, I did not nearly capture how he conveyed it, but the logic behind it is still in tact. You see Tim, it’s better you are in the spot you are at, for he is molding you to become something far greater then if you were in a luke warm state. Many people exist their entire lives in that state, never moving forward, not really making change within, and those are the ones I’d be concerned about the most. The sad truth to this, most people are luke warm with their faith, Tim, you are not, and right now, you know something is wrong, you are taking a hard look at yourself, someone that is luke warm will not do that. You have so much potential, and God knows that, let his spirit guide you, for you are on a path back to him in a huge way.

Remember Tim, you have us praying for you, we are behind you, and know that you are loved, by us and especially by God himself!

I bought the book, read it, gave it away . . . and I believe it is like one of those chain letters we used to get in high school: been around the world seven times!

You know you’re up on the top end of my prayer list now. Keep us in the loop.

Marriage and family problems actually CREATE the definition of unspeakable suffering. Don’t ask how I know!

Dear Tim / TOP,

Apart from this thread, have read some of your posts over the years and have always considered you a welcome presence here at CAF.

Praying for you, :gopray2:
