Hatred cannot lead one to Christ. His tracts are only destructive.
Yes, we do. Although I haven’t prayed for Jack Chic specifically, I think that is a great idea.Wow! I guess this guy isn’t so obscure after all. Seems like lots of people have heard of him. I hadn’t had a chance to read any professed Catholic lies, but one of the respondents was kind enough to include a link to his website, so I’ll do more research to find out what lies he’s telling.
I wonder if anybody loves the truth enough to pray for him if he really is being misled.
Considering that I know quite a few Protestants who do, I suspect that there are probably many Catholics who do also. I do not know about the Orthodox; he does not seem to have a problem with them, perhaps because they are not sufficiently visible.I wonder if anybody loves the truth enough to pray for him if he really is being misled.
Probably both, and yes I do pray for his conversion. If I believed as he does, I would hope the whole world would pray for me. As my Mother use to say, “There but for the grace of God, go I.”Jack Chick…WOW - this guy is disturbing, or, is it just disturbed?
Peace
chick.com/reading/tracts/0071/0071_01.aspIMy personal favourite in the “Are Roman Catholics Christians?” tract is the point at which Catholics are accused of being disloyal to their country. This was an argument originally invented in the C16th by Elizabethan ‘Protestant’ nobles, who used it as an excuse to re-invade Ireland and steal the Irish land-holdings of the Anglo-Norman Catholic gentry.
Whom do they find to come up with this stuff?Or how 'bout this wonderful piece of work?

… and just why would you wonder on these boards if any one loved the truth enough to do anything?I wonder if anybody loves the truth enough to pray for him if he really is being misled.
Considering there are very few Protestants who are praying for his conversion to Christ, I consider it a very solem obligation of mine (along with Ian Paisley)I wonder if anybody loves the truth enough to pray for him if he really is being misled.
Though I’d hardly call it an agenda, I do have a keen interest in reading the aformentioned discourse of our fellow brethren. To answer your question, I am a truth-seeker. I think there is no more important thing in this life but to find the truth about God (…or at least as much as He knows is appropriate to reveal).… and just why would you wonder on these boards if any one loved the truth enough to do anything?
Have you read any of the ‘tracts’? Did you see the untruths and the misleading? and yet, you wonder if he really is being misled?
Hmmm… … what is your agenda? Are you anti-Catholic? Or just like to see discourse? I wonder…
Then you should be HIGHLY interested in reading the lives of the saints…they will show you how to live according to the will of God.I also observe the way Catholics and Protestants conduct themselves in these forums. I look for evidences of love, hate, passion and prejudice. I look for signs of patience and temper and I use indicators such as these to help me on my way to the true Church of Christ, knowing full well that the true Church MUST be a reflection on the One upon whom it was initially founded…
Watch out for St. Paul. What a cranky dude! Those who would often spew hateful words, one way or the other, would be hard-pressed to convince ANYONE that they belong to Christ… and I’ve seen evidence of impatience and acrimony on both sides of the fence.
I’ve read a few stories regarding canonized saints and they’ve certainly been inspirational. Though currently, I’m interested in seeing the face of today’s church. I’m interested in seeing how the average Roman Catholic man/woman/child reflects the teachings of the church. Then you should be HIGHLY interested in reading the lives of the saints…they will show you how to live according to the will of God.
I have many good recommendations if your are interested.
Perhaps a novena to St. Jude for both of them is in order.Considering there are very few Protestants who are praying for his conversion to Christ, I consider it a very solem obligation of mine (along with Ian Paisley)
I hope they both might find Christ before it is too late.
I caught up to the man who initially gave me that Jack Chick tract and I was amazed with how serene and at peace he was when discussing Jesus. It amazed me because Jesus seems to be such a touchy subject in our country today, you know?
Hello ChristianWAB;
Personally, I would question the theology of any person that used Jack Chick tracts to evangelize. Even assuming that your friend had nothing but the best of intentions, his decision to use such “questionable” material raises serious credibility issues.
Best of luck in your search for Truth.
You must not have met many people from other religions CW. Have you ever talked with a Buddhist? They are very serene people. When I was a teenager I had a good friend who was buddhists, she was one of the sweetest people that I have ever met.I’ve read a few stories regarding canonized saints and they’ve certainly been inspirational. Though currently, I’m interested in seeing the face of today’s church. I’m interested in seeing how the average Roman Catholic man/woman/child reflects the teachings of the church.
