I saw one of these ckick tracts back in the early 70’s.A protestant friend gave me one. That one talked about the Holy Father and the Church being part(The head)of a conspiracy made up of masons, buildebuggers, the eluminatti etc.trying to take over the world.Even as a teenager I thought they were crazy. It’s sad that they’re still around:For the sake of His sarrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.Rocky.

I watched around half of it load and couldn’t stand it anymore.
Yeah, he got into the anti-Catholic paranoid conspiracy theory when a fugitive from creditors came to his door and moved in with the whole story and started leaning on him to publish it. It’s one of the most famous bits of comic fanlore in our time apparently, and it’s interesting to me form a sociological/psychological point of view, hardly unique but weird anyway.

Dear oh dear. Does this look to anyone else like a straightforward re-hash of “Are Roman Catholics Christians?” with a bit of “Last Rites” thrown in? … Could it be that - gasp! - there are no more popish plots out there for him to expose?

I think the penis statue is something new.🙂

That’s true - and upon reflection, I’m afraid it means we’ll have to admit that Jack Chick was right all along. Here at long last is the conclusive link between Caesar Nero, the Masons, divination, and the Catholic Church. There can be no refuting this. Ah, “precious Catholics,” whatever can we do?

Praying for his conversion

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
Amen

Hail Mary, Full of Grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou among women
and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death
Amen

“Hey, why do they call this guy ‘His Holiness’?” “Because he’s the Pope, Jimmy – the POPE!” 😃

Have you ever seen “Delirious”, a stand-up comedy show by Eddie Murphy? It’s very funny. But it is also very rude. The strange thing is that if it wasn’t rude, then it wouldn’t be funny.

Jack Chick has alot of cheap shots in his comics. If he didn’t, they wouldn’t be interesting reads.

While I enjoy a good laugh as well as the next guy, this guy is dangerous. And to think he makes thousands of dollars on these “comic books”.

Last summer, or early spring, I got a call at work (I work at the Sheriff’s office) from my pastor who asked me to file a complaint. Sometime between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:00 pm someone entered our church and painstakenly incerted the comic book “The Death Cookie” in each and every missalette. No one noticed it until Mass had begun at 5:00 and several young people were terribly disturbed to find them, as well as several of the adults, one of which brought it to Father’s attention. That is when he called me and then he gathered up each and every one of them, put them in an envelope (there were approx 150 of them) which were put into evidence at the sheriff’s office.

A little while later I received a call from the pastor of another parish in our county. The same subject or peole working with him had left copies (printed from the computer) of the same comic book on each and every vehicle in front of the church during their 5:30 pm Mass. Another report was made and officers/deputies were requested to watch the areas the next morning during the Masses (and just before) at the 4 churches in our county. The subject and his friends had been going all around the diocese to different parishes and doing the same thing. Once his vehicle had been identified, he was contacted by law enforcement and the Chanceries (he lived in a neighboring diocese) and told to stop and, if he was caught again, charges would be filed. We still have to be vigilant because there is some circumstantial evidence that he may be back but nothing concrete.

This is a hate crime. It is one thing to stand on a street corner and hand these out to people who are able to say “no thank you” but it is another thing to trespass, enter a church (it is private property) and leave them so that they have the potential of disrupting a planned event (Mass). He also trespassed onto church property (the parking lot) uninvited. Many church burnings, assault on members, etc… start out with incidents as benign as a comic book.

Hate is Hate and it is not acceptable in any way, shape or form. While these “comic books” carry a totally stupid and unrealistic look at the Catholic Church, they are still not something to be laughed at. Jack Chick has been at this since 1954 and he has thousands of followers and this is is just how misconceptions and misunderstandings are propagated and trouble starts. Not just here in the US but in other parts of the world as well.

Go ahead and laugh at this and other really STUPID messages but always keep in mind that there are thousands of people out there that take what he and other Anti-Catholic speakers say as gospel.

Now let’s give the man credit for getting some things right:

There is a Catholic Church
The Vatican is in Italy
There is a Pope
The paper the tracts are printed on is much more comfortable than newspaper or a Sears catalog in the outhouse.

Ya know, I’ll never cease to be amazed at that man. What I find more absurd is the fact that this crud is taken seriously by some people, and for so long, too!

And we of Irish ancestry are once again stereotyped. Begorra!:irish3:

You know, I think the facial expressions in these comics are absurd. EVERY person looks like they’re either about to kill someone, or be killed. Fear and hatred, that’s what I see.

What motivates people like Jack to waste so much of their time on producing this stuff? Good grief, Jack; go do some good for somebody who’s sick or needy or something.

I noticed he called purgatory a “money tree.”

Since the average stipend for a mass is $5-10, and there are only some 200 days in a year when a priest can accept a stipend, you see how much money is made on them.

Jack Chick’s monthly expenses are probably more than $2,000.
