The article didn’t mention he was a conservative Catholic and a Knight of Columbus.

Bush 44

**He denies he’s even interested, and a long list of political analysts have already written him off with the belief that the appearance of political nepotism would be too unseemly for voters to put the brother of the current president in the Oval Office. But in politics timing is everything, and as the clock advances towards 2008, things are starting to fall into place to give Jeb Bush the momentum he needs to win the White House. And this isn’t contingent on Hillary Clinton emerging as the Democrats’ nominee–though if she does, the path will be all the smoother for another Bush.

I’d like to see a better nominee than Jeb Bush. However, if it came down to him and Hillary Clinton, I’d be compelled to support him.

What would make a better candidate?

What other possible candidates are pro-life? from either party. I haven’t heard of ANY from either party.

Jeb Bush would be an awesome President.

I personally don’t think Hillary stands a chance for two reasons: (1) I don’t think the Country’s ready for a female Prez and (2) Her record on pro-choice.

It would be very interesting, a catholic president for US, but I see difficult, very difficult, in addition, the republican party would be like Bush´s party

Former Governor George Allen of Virginia (current US Senator from VA)

No more Bushs no more Republicans…this country is choking to death on corruption.

Whereas the Clinton administration was the golden age of purity in Washington politics?

Alert the media! There was no White Water Scandal, no Monica Scandal, no Dead White House Aide Scandal, no Missing Papers Scandal etc., etc, etc. Right.

I’ll take another Bush administration over Hilary plunging us back into her personal brand of terrorism in Washington any day!

I like Jeb…but I’m leaning toward Gov Allen.

I doubt Jeb will run anyway…

Funny, the press was ga-ga over the idea of a parade of Kennedy’s into the White House. They don’t seem bothered by the idea of a second Clinton, however, make it a Republican and suddenly it becomes a scary proposition. I don’t think Jeb wants it, yet, but I don’t see any Democrats I prefer. Can’t think of any Republicans who make me happy either.

I’m voted for George in the last election, but wished Jeb would have run instead. I have followed Jeb somewhat (hurricanes/Terri) and he seems to have his head on straight, were George seems a bit lost and over his head at times. Jeb is like Al Gore in that he is probably too smart for party leadership. He would be calling the shots, and they don’t want that from a candidate.

The Bush’s are weaklings, both father and sons:

David Souter was hardly an appointment of great courage. Ha.

If you’re going to start a war, you had better know how you’re going to win it. Three years later… and our soilders are driving down the same roads (patrolling??), and getting killed by exploding goats. The Iraq’s could fight Iran and loose 1 million men in the 80’s, but today they seemingly have a hard time with training and can’t police or defend THEIR country.

Jeb couldn’t save Teri Shiavo even from a swamp judge.

That cowardice of his is what makes me totally negative towards any idea of him as president. If he couldn’t stand up to a circuit level judge, how the hell is he going to stand up to the world?

The GOP can come up with better that him for sure.

Dang, I’m agreeing with Richard twice in one day? Who’d have thunk it possible:)

I also lost all respect for Jeb as a leader during the court-ordered Schiavo murder. He should have declared Terry a ward of the state, had her removed from that death-center by the Florida National Guard and taken her into protective custody. Only way I’d vote for him as President is if he’s running against Billary or another sKerry-type.

And, what would have been the big bad consequence? A Civil Court Contempt of Court citation. BFD. Who would enforce it?

What was Bush thinking? To parody his father, “wouldn’t be prudent.” Bah!
