What your friend said is correct. The name Jehovah is not in the Bible and there is no consensus even among Jewish scholars whether the Holy Name is in fact pronounced “Yah-weh”. The holy name was replaced with the title Adonai out of respect for the Divine Name and was used little by Jews if at all. If memory serves me correctly, it was pronounced only by the High Priest on a holy feast, though I’m sure one of our learned friends here can specify the feast.
Most Jews simply refer to god as “hashem” - the NAME, or Adonai

I will never refer to God as Jehovah because that is not his name. “Jehovah” is the result of a misreading of the Hebrew text into which vowels were inserted by the Massoretes. It’s a mistake. Any Bible scholar can tell you that.

Oh I believe you, they are taken from the 12 tribes
but where are the 12 tribes? and I know they are lost, but to who are they lost to, could it be to themselves, their names are changed, through time. And the 144,000 are not Jews, Jews are only one tribe. therefore only 12,000 from judah will be chosen. Am I correct?
