I guess I feel so sorry for them… thinking they are right and wasting their entire lives being wrong. I hope God feels sorry for them too.

What defines being Christian? Is it not the acceptance that Jesus is the Messiah? The one who was sacrificed so that we may be forgiven of sins? That we may gain salvation? The example of mercy and forgiveness that we live by today?
JW’s accept Jesus as their Savior, that he sacrificed himself for the forgiveness of sins, so that we may gain salvation. They follow his teachings as examples to live by today.
When I became Catholic, I began to understand that Jesus is God and not limited to being only his son. **That for me, changed who Jesus is. Who the 2nd person of the Trinity is. **
Knowledge of God the Son did not change who God the Father is. It totally changed the meaning of the sacrifice. It became the perfect sacrifice that we needed, after all God is Salvation and it is only God who can save.
It did not change God the Father, God Almighty, the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob, the God who created all things. The trinity is 3 persons in one. The 1st person of the Trinity, God the Father still remained God the Father that I worshiped when I was a JW.
I feel blessed that I have been guided by the holy spirit, to understand the fullness of the sacrifice of God the Son, and that is the difference.
I will always, continue to pray for the JWs to learn the fullness of who God the Son is.
I am no authority of what the JWs teach, as I have not practiced for 20 years. I still contend they are misguided and need prayers, not to be bashed by people who call themselves Christian. What an example in Christ!

Do you think that my plainly stating my views that JW’s are not Christian bashing? JW’s are not Christian, which is a simple fact. If that’s bashing then I am a basher. If it is simply stating the obvious then I am yet again: Captain Obvious.
I do not suggest that any or all JW’s be written off as worthless scum unworthy of mercy or prayer. I never suggested anything of the sort. If you were also in the WBTS then you know that JW’s do not teach or preach salvation through Jesus Christ. You know that they do not place any emphasis upon salvation in or through Jesus Christ. You know that that they believe that Jesus was, and then became again, Michael the Arc-Angel You do know and understand that they deny the Trinity, the single core belief of all Christians as defined in the creeds of Nicea and Constantinople. Without that single core believe one cannot be viewed as a Christian. That is not bashing, that is just reality. You can say you are, just as JW’s say they are (The One and Only True) Christian(s) but that claim does not make it reality.
If you wish to continue to believe that JW’s are Christians and worship the same God as you do, then you can. I can’t and have said why.

JWs in general, get bashed all the time and not just on this forum by people who call themselves Christian. Every time I will come to their defense. Maybe that is wrong of me, but I cannot see how they worship a false God and are not in the broad sense of the word Christian. When they come to my door, I will always invite them in and try to teach them because they are so misguided. Who knows what seed will be planted in their heart.
They believe in God the Father, They believe in Jesus as the Son of God, and they believe in the holy spirit. They do not accept the the Trinity, but it does not make the 3 persons false. To say they are worshiping a false God is incorrect. This is all that is to my defense.
Everyone has a different definition of what constitutes a Christian. In Judahism, some Jews do not claim that the Messianic Jews are part of Judahism, while they feel they are. It is a matter of opinion.
Regardless, I am sorry I offended you. You obviousley thought my comment about bashing was meant for you and it is not.
I just think that in general, if you wish to plant a seed in the heart of an unbeliever, it is best to do it humbly and with gentleness. If you go in with an attack, one is automatically on the defense.

Never once was taught this. I was taught Jesus was the “first angel” created by God and it was who God was speaking to when he said “Let us make man in our image”, not Michael the Arc-Angel.

I think that as well. And I always invite them in too when they knock. In fairness to their beliefs, I make sure to tell them I have been disfellowshipped; which makes them receiving the invitation difficult to do.

LOL, thanks for the laugh! OOOH, but I never tell them that I am disfellowshipped, and that they might be guilty of “bad association”.
b_justb, what may I ask made you leave?
I left when I was 19. I just could not believe that only 144,000 were allowed in heaven, and if true, where did their spirit come from all of a sudden. No one else had one, how did they magically obtain one. I believed in hell and I believed in Purgatory.
But of course, this goes way off the tread.

I never believed any of it and lived a double life the whole time I was in. When with my parents and in the congregation I was the goodie JW boy, son of the elder in charge of the Theocratic Ministry School. When at school with no prying eyes I was a completely different (and bad) person. When I hit 18 I hit the road.
