The way the JWs discipline their members is a common characteristic of abusive cults and churches. I too have seen the damage done to people by this group and the way they treat those who break their rules.

I have a friend who is in his 40’s but has not seen his family since he was 18 and left the JW’s because they will not allow it. His dad fell sick so he saw him this year in the hospital for the first time in all these years. In they live in the same town!

It is MY OPINION that JW are scared to stay! The JW come drop a few lines and tell us to “think” about it. The problem is that many of us here have thought about and just cannot see it the way the JW do. It just doesn’t add up.

It is MY OPINION that JW want to “lead the witness” and if they can’t “lead the witness” then they leave. I don’t know if I would call it “hit and run”. I mean if they could “lead the witness” then they would stay. Right?

It’s MY OPINION that JW just get confused when we don’t “slam” the door on them. It’s MY OPINION that JW just get confused when we welcome them and ask them questions about the their faith. Question like: Why in ------ did Watchtower teach this but now Watchtower don’t? They don’t know how to answer. I found when people don’t know how to answer they tend to avoid it. Avoidance in my opinion does not equal “hit and run”.

If the JW are “watching” this tread…then good! Let them “watch”; let them “read”; let them “see”.

That’s exactly what they do door to door. If they don’t know the answer, think you’ve outsmarted them, or think they can’t “lead the witness” as you called it, they RUN!!!

All JWs are that way, my DH included. When he doesn’t know what to tell me he asks me to stop talking about religion, or he just says to ask one of the pioneers if they stop by my house… I guess they aren’t as biblically strong as they thought :rolleyes:
