Jerry Sandusky sentenced to at least 30 years

Well Mr. Sandusky is going to be getting used to an entirely new standard of of living!

I pray for his victims.
 
The sentence is 30-60 years with a mandatory 30 years served. Justice is served in this case, too bad so many child molesters are able to buy their way out.
 
how many more jerry sanduskys are still out there in this great macho sport of football is what i wonder?

i am glad this is finally over. i was tired of hearing about it.

It’s sad but we only know when these monsters get caught. They just look lke you and I so we can’t know.

Parents need to keep a close eye on who may want to spend time with their kids. . . . .

yes and the pedophiles seem to know how to target those who are vulnerable in one way or another. can you imagine if someone had come forth 25 years ago and predicted that jerry sandusky would be sentenced to 30 years in prison for these types of offenses? everyone would have thought the person was crazy!

It’s crazy the demons that some people carry. Engaging in what he did and just walking around like life’s a bowl of cherries. Scary.

i wonder if he will get any psychological help in prison. i don’t think he feels like he did anything wrong.

If he is a run-of-the-mill pedophile he wont have any use for treatment. These men- usually but not always men- sincerely believe the twisted reality which they feed themselves.

He, like all of us, will receive the perfect justice of God and I hope that he does find salvation.

The 68-year-old was transferred to SCI-Greene in Waynesburg, the far southwest corner of the state and a 181-mile drive from State College. Only a couple of other facilities are located further from Sandusky’s home and even then by only a few miles.

This was a nightmare transfer, and it came almost exactly one year after his Nov. 4, 2011, bombshell indictment rocked the region and Penn State football, where Sandusky was the long-time defensive coordinator. In June, Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of sexual abuse.

Unlike Rockview, SCI-Greene is a Supermax facility designed to house some of Pennsylvania’s most dangerous criminals. One of the state’s two death rows is located there. Sandusky will be put in protective custody, which will keep him isolated from other prisoners.

He’ll be allowed just one hour of outdoor exercise, alone, five days during the week. He’ll get just three showers a week. The rest of his time will essentially be spent in solitary confinement. All visits will be “non contact,” meaning they’ll take place behind a window or screen with not even hand holding allowed. The visits are limited and closely monitored.

What is sad, if he were a “run of the mill pedophile” he would be out in a few years - if he ever faced charges.

Not with the charges facing Sandusky. Not even his high-profile lawyer could save the guy- and when Jerry essentially admitted to “loving kids” on national TV- not good for him.

But I agree that justice can be fickle- especially for minorities and for those who can’t afford good representation.

I’m sure that Tampa Dave has seen some pretty incompetent defense attorneys in his time.

Does anyone know if he’s a Catholic? With a good confession to include solid contrition, and life amendment, he can find comfort in being in God’s good graces again. Though Purgatory awaits in any case.

Sandusky was high profile and prosecutors HAD to go after him with everything they had. Most cases of child abuse are swept under the rug and few are ever prosecuted.

It’s common everywhere. While CPS claim that victim’s identities are kept secret to “protect” the children it plays directly into protecting the perpetrator too.
