Jerusalem Tomb Discovery Casts Doubt on Turin Shroud

as i said in my post in which most of you didn’t see. if you place the divine image beside the shroud you will see that they are both conected

This “belief, blind faith” is all very well. It matters not what the shroud was made of and how the “image” got there, BUT there is no way of finding out whose body was in it. The only way now is by DNA evidence which, in this case would be the comparision of the blood (if any) on the cloth and the blood from Jesus or a close relative. As none of this available, no evidence about whose body it was could be accepted by a court of law.

This is the problem I have with the Roman Catholic Church - belief in certain relics being genuine - like the pieces of the “True Cross”. There seem to be enough of these pieces around to make 100 + crosses. The elaborate jeweled crucifix in the Vatican is the most famous example. Considering all the crucifixions carried out by the Romans can anyone seriously prove where that piece of wood came from? OF COURSE NOT. I want proper scientific EVIDENCE.

I believe in it firmly without a doubt. I dare you to watch a documentory on it, preferably the one entitled “Shroud of Turin: New Evidence” it’s reeeaaaally good and you’ll learn alot.

 I believe that millions of people are genuinely fearful of investigating the Holy Shroud. It may make them rethink their ridicule of those "weak", "needy" Christian fools. Some folks would rather risk their own salvation if it means confessing to current friends that they are now believers in the Christ child who died for all humanity. :rolleyes: Blessings, Bob

 P.S. As for Christian disbelief in the authenticity of the Shroud, I find it a unfathomable lack of curiosity, or in some instances fear of being labeled "Catholic" or "unscientific". Yet, right now, all the science supports the probability that the Cloth is the genuine deal. (Unlike virtually all the other "relics" out there!)

The probable fakeness of some claimed relics does NOT invalidate the genuiness of others. Each and everyone has to be examined on a case by case basis.

Blood was found on the Shroud. By the way, they usually don’t bury crucified men, Jesus was an acception thanks to the disciples. So it probably was Jesus’, also you wouldn’t get that image just by crucifying someone and burying them.

I believe I read somewhere that the veil of Veronica is kept at the Vatican. Does anyone know if this is true? Does the veil have an image of Christ’s face on it?
