I never asked it to. I asked for a better solution than “just give them up for adoption” and what happens after that, especially if we exhaust our economic resources to take care of all the unwanted children. No one has given any answer other than “it’s better to be alive than dead” and “you don’t need money to be happy”, which strikes me as incredibly unrealistic and not a solution to the actual problem. All of which is feel is a far cry from the Holocaust, i.e. the comparison is bizarre and always has been.
Want a solution? Keep your pants on if you’re not prepared to have children. Problem of unexpected pregnancy solved. You’re welcome. 😛

Now, back to the topic of the thread, which is planned suicide.

I agree with the first part of your reply, however, this thread isn’t about planned suicide.

No, what’s up for debate is if it’s far better to force women to give birth and surrender unwanted children than allow them to terminate the pregnancy.
I can’t believe this is even a question being asked in a “civilized” society. YES, it is far better for children to be born than to be killed. What is hard about understanding this?!?!
We aren’t talking about corralling up all the poor children that are alive now and killing them.
You’re advocating killing them before they are born.

You’re creating a fantasy situation where there will be an avalanche of children left by their mothers. What will actually happen is that most of the mothers will step up and take care of their children. There will be some increase in need, but Christians will step up and meet that need.

We shouldn’t kill babies to make our lives more convenient.

A distinction without a difference. You seem believe that the value of ones life is dependent on being “wanted”

The better solution, that Catholic teaching tries to push, is to evangelize the kind of values and morals that make family possible, and wards off situations where any child is unwanted.
With upwards of 60% or more children being born out of wedlock even in this culture of death we find ourselves in, this is where the focus of a society needs to be.

Instead, the past decade has focused on SSM, which is irrelevant to children even being born.

Yes, exterminating a race or in this case Jewish people as what the Holocaust was is bad. But I don’t think 1 is anti-Semite to mention truth that individual Jews committed Stalin’s Soviet Holocaust where people were killed by same ways and in larger #s-starved and worked to death, shot and in some cases tortured and beaten to death. From the late 1800s to 1945 with the 2 world wars among other wars, both Germany and Japan believed they were the greatest. In 2014, Russia and China believe they are the greatest though not with the same # of deaths.

Jews, Arabs & Berbers are cousins, yet Arabs and Berbers have had conflicts with Jews going on for centuries. Koreans, Chinese and Japanese are cousins, but again centuries of conflict.

But with Holocaust or Shoah, Germans and Austrians born after the war are innocent for what their parents or grandparents did. They should be judged by what they do. Same with the Japanese-post war Japanese should be judged for what they do. Germans and Japanese have both done nice things for science, culture (such as Beethoven, Kabuki theater) and both would like to be known for what they do today and the nice things they have done and not the bad things which have happened in history.

Must also say that if you reply to my post and if something I say offends, then please explain why it’s offensive and not just react. When you react, but not rebut what I wrote, then it’s not charity as you don’t deny truth I wrote but are offended that it was said. My answer to the post below copy and pastes but needs to be said again as saying the same thing will get you the same answer.

You did not rebut what I wrote. 1 usually won’t be condemned if 1 says that Germans such as Josef Mengele (Auschwitz Death Doctor), Hans Michael Frank (lawyer and Poland’s Gauleiter) and other everyday Germans committed the Holocaust be they starving and working prisoners to death, gas vans, shootings and experiments. 1 usually won’t be condemned if 1 says that Japanese such as Shiro Ishii (parachuted flea bombs Germ warfare in China) and other everyday Japanese committed the Rape of Nanking, Bataan Death March, Unit 731 in Manchuria (experiments on POW) and other war horrors. During the late 1800s to their defeats in 1945, both Germany and Japan believed they were the best and ordinary Germans and Japanese were willing to kill and die for Hitler and Tojo, with the Japanese having Bushido (Samurai Way). Post war Germans and Japanese don’t usually get offended when you say this history.

Yet when 1 says the historical fact that there were Jews who were complicit in Stalin’s Holodomor (Joseph Sobran calls it the Forgiven Holocaust), then the reactions. Yes, there were many non-Jews such as Lavrenti Beria and others who helped Stalin (Joseph Dzugashvilli) commit the Holodomor. No, Stalin’s Jewish henchmen such as Lazar Kaganovitch and Lev Mekhlis did not do their deeds because they were Jewish but because they were Communist ideologues. But Jewish complicity in the Holodomor is truth as they were disproportionately in the Communist party and thus would have followers willing to do this. Some people also react when you say Indian massacre but don’t rebut the truth of what happened, other than get offended. American Indians groups such as A.I.M. gets offended when you say Indian massacre, but when tribes such as Sioux killed children (1862 Minnesota massacre), then that’s an Indian massacre though it offends A.I.M.
Yes, the Holocaust has become a 2nd religion for some Jews. I know that some people find this offensive but it’s true. Many cases where Jews blame post war Germans (born after the war) for the Holocaust by talking of how evil Germans are. Yes it’s true that ordinary Germans took part in the Holocaust and in Asia ordinary Japanese followed Bushido (Samurai way) in committing Rape of Nanking, Bataan and so on. But Germans and Japanese born after the war are not guilty for what their parents did and they should be judged for what they do, not their parents deeds. But with Holocaust, yes that has become a 2nd religion for some Jews especially when they tell Germans born after war how evil they are, when they weren’t born when that happened.

There has been controversy in past when post war Germans have said things such as what happened in 2003 (11 years ago) when German politician Martin Hohmann said that Jews were disproportionately involved in Stalin’s Holodomor. What Herr Hohmann said was true, but Jewish groups asked him to quit which he did. Unsure if since then other Germans have had the same thing done to them as happened to Martin Hohmann. But I can understand why some Germans would do that. If a German is being told how evil he or she is because of how Germans committed the Holocaust though they were not born when this happened, then it’s understandable why some Germans would say things like ‘Jews committed the biggest Holocaust called the Holodomor’ in reaction by mentioning Lazar Kaganovich. Truth again is the Holocaust has become a 2nd religion for some. When Germans born after the war are lectured on how evil they are because of the Nazi Holocaust against the Jews but get censored when they talk of Jewish complicity in Stalin’s Holodomor in reaction, then yes, that’s making a 2nd religion of the Holocaust.

That is a very good point.
