Student health-insurance plans at Jesuit-run Boston College include coverage for contraceptives, the Cardinal Newman Society has revealed. The school’s health-insurance coverage does not explicitly include abortion, but it is not clear whether the procedure is included in “family-planning” services.

Why don’t some Catholic schools understand they need to actually adhere to Catholic teachings and values? To a lot of people they are examples of Catholicism, and by doing these things they give the wrong impression, that the Church isn’t as serious on abortion and birth control as it is and that there is room for flexibility on these issues, which there is not. I hope they don’t cover abortion, and I hope they redo their health plan to get rid of anything against Catholic teachings.

That sounds like a legal requirement for an employer.
