Did jesus and the apostles read the book of maccabees? Or was its’ manuscript not discovered yet?

I often read about something in John in relation to Maccabees and hanukah but dont understand what it means.

Have not made that connection yet. Maccabees was written long before the Incarnation. It was part of the collection of scrolls from which our Lord quoted. It does document the first Hanukkah, and is the only Christian reference to the Jewish celebration.

Where in John were you speaking of?

John 10:22

From this i can only infer that the feast of the dedication was part of their calender, that is real and the porch was real.

Even the NAB/RE notes as follows:
" Feast of the Dedication : an eight-day festival of lights (Hebrew, Hanukkah) held in December, three months after the feast of Tabernacles, to celebrate the Maccabees’ rededication of the altar and reconsecration of the temple in 164 B.C., after their desecration by Antiochus IV Epiphanes"
Haydock does not mention it, as the teaching is a given in Catholic/Orthodox Churches.

Given that the book of Maccabees was part of the discovered Dead Sea scrolls dating to Jesus’s time, the answer is yes.
