no problem. i am always glad to help.
my question is what are you trying to prove with your assertions? do you have that much hatreth for the mother of God? what wrong has she done to you? if you have a problem with her, take up with God who brought her forth as a virgin.
May the Lord open your eyes so you can see the truth.

My problem is how your church is using the Scriptures to support its beliefs.
Do you believe she was a virgin throughout her life?
May the Lord open your eyes so you can see the truth.

Yes I believe Mary was ever virgin because my Church HAS the full deposit of the faith! I will keep on believing this untill the Holy Father renders a different infallible decision. JA4 who do you think wrote the bible? and wouldn’t the writers have the best grip of what was ment. not what we think 1600yrs or 2000yrs later?

God used different men.

Yes. However its not always easy to determine what the authors meant on some things.

why not? give a reason not to believe.
When you look at the refences to references to His brothers etc throughout the scriptures it is clear these are His brothers through Joseph and Mary. Matthew 13:55-56 is a case in point.
Even Galatians 1:19 is another support that Mary did have other children via her relationship with her husband.

if that it is true. how do you explain why we are still arguing about this today?

I don’t know if they are discussing it in the catholic church. Protestants don’t accept the catholic position on bibilcal grounds.

you should know the CC position on this. it is the same yesterday and today. it will not change.

Not so. The catholic church of today believes things that were not believed in 4th century for example. The catholic church of today has some beliefs that were not believed in the NT church.

Take the marian doctrines. The church of the NT did not believe these doctrines. Nor did the church for centuries.

Perhaps this is hard for you to understand. since your mind has been doctrined against Mary the mother of God.
what church are you talking about? i see you mentioning church. obviously trying to prove to you that what the CC teaches and believes is the whole truth is going to be difficult for us. I do not believe that those responsible for the break away (protestants)from the CC had any problem about Marian teachings. one thing we must reason is: of course the protestants have their own theology. now we should question, the NT talks about one church, one faith, one Lord, one baptism. now where is that church? what happened to it? is she still here? did one priest by being rebellious deciding to separate from that church made that church dissapear? is that church gone or is she still here? did jesus failed in his promise to protect this church? according to the Sacred Scriptures is there any thing which support that should be schism or separation of this church?

How do you know this? There is nothing in the passage to indicate this.

Where are you getting from Zechariah that Jesus would be Mary’s only child? Can you give me the verse that says that kind of thing?

The problem is that there is no support for your assertion–
“as the Son of Man, he was born of the Virgin Mary and was her only child”.
I sometimes wonder if you joined this Forum just to exasperate Catholics. If Zechariah was right, according to Sacred Tradition, about the soldier’s lance piercing the side of Christ after He died on the Cross, and about Jesus being a “firstborn” child, then obviously the prophet was also right about Jesus being “an only son” of Mary. What else could the prophet mean about Jesus being “an only son” other than he was Mary’s only child? As long as you hate Catholicism, your prejudice will keep you blind from the truth.

Pax vobiscum
Good Fella

please do not take offense on this. but i think protestants are very confused because of false teachings does bring confusion. think for centuries all they do is trying to prove Catholics wrong. they have never succeed. the tracks, the lies about the Church, these are all prosecution against the CC. yet this Church has never defend herself. still here and very strong. this is the work of Christ and not of man. yes the CC is made of fallible men and sinners but also many saints are in this church.

a quote from Martin luther:

Martin Luther Quote:

“I never approve of a schism, nor will I approve of it for all eternity…that the Roman Church is more honored by God than all others is not to be doubted. St Peter and St Paul, forty-six popes, some hundreds of thousands of martyrs, have laid down their lives in its communion, having overcome hell and the world; so that the eyes of God rest on the RCC with special favor. though now and days everything is in a wretched state, it is no ground for separating from the Church that we can make it better. we must not separate from God on account fo any work of the devil, nor cease to have fellowship with the children of God who are still abiding in the pale of Rome on account the multitude of the ungodly. there is no sin, no amount of evil, which should be permitted to dissolve the bond of charity or break the bond of unity of the body for love can do all things and nothing is difficult to those who are united.”
that has not changed.

Can you give me the documentation in the Sacred Tradition writings for your assertions?
I could, but I have learned that this is a waste of time in your case. I now know that you will reject whatever I offer, since you have already determined for yourself that the Sacred Traditions are the “speculations of men”.
The Scriptures never assert she was an ever virgin. There is no Apostolic support for this.
Since you have rejected what the scriptures say about it, and the Apostolic Tradition, it will be impossible for you to recognize any support. There are none so blind as those who do not wish to see. I tried to get you just to role play, to pretend, just so you could see where we get that, and you could not. 🤷
They are relevant because they study these things at depth. Do you know what some of them say?
Sure, but they are not necessarily part of the magesterium, so they can say whatever they want, and it will not affect the teaching of the Church.
My problem is how your church is using the Scriptures to support its beliefs.
Well, I appreciate that you are owning it, instead of giving it to someone else. I am still puzzled, though, why it is a problem for you. Why is it so hard for you to accept that other people of sincere faith see things differently than you do? HOw is it that you are somehow prevented from going your way in peace? What drives you to find fault with your brothers and sisters?

I need all of your help (Catholic and non). There has been this one show that comes on In Hawaii and it is of a local church. For the last three times that i’ve seen it, the pastor has been saying that Jesus had half brothers. The pastor says that Mary and Joseph had other children.
