In the index to the ravings of Ellen G. White, there are pages and pages of references to that nasty ole pope feller and his catlick church…

But not ONE mention of Orthodoxy!

Could it be because there just weren’t any Orthodox Churches in 19th century New England and she simply didn’t know about them?

The real strike against Catholic? The Gospels of Jesus Christ was PREACHED orally. Jesus did not gave his Gospel in written form to the Apostles to preached it. In fact, NT is straight from the ORAL TRADITIONS of the Church.

and the Gospel of John 21:25 states,

But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.

St. Paul also told us to hold fast the traditions either written or orally.

And Catholics affirm that Jesus lived, died, descended into the dead, and rose from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father, Almighty.

Thank you sir, I’m quite familiar with the Catholic position on a number of topics.

My point was that, if the statement of Jesus being the first Catholic is true, then all of the standard aspects would have to originate there as well. Since there was no guilt trip…

I was at a bookstore earlier tonight with Mrs. Hajnalcsillag, and when I went to pay for my books the clerk asked if I belonged to their rewards program, to which I answered “no”. When I got the receipt, it was printed on the bottom that “Rewards members would have saved $xx.xx on this transaction.” I looked at her and said, “Oh no, the Catholics are running the bookstore and point of sale!”
