If anything in particular is giving you trouble, this forum is a good place to ask about refuting it. The main CA site also has good materials.

I have often wondered The same thing I don’t get it either.
Strange, isn’t it, that they never seem to offer a forum, or a feedback or contact link. The most deluded are those who have convinced themselves of something and then have sent themselves to proclaim it in a useless and hate-filled monologue.

The people that made that website sound like mentally unstable unemployed blue collar workers, and it has a very stronger flavor of cultism to it. Not saying that to be derogatory; just my honest observation. If it’s making you losing your faith in Catholicism, I would study and pray more. Maybe in spite of their horrible apologetics and largely made-up material, you’re letting them intimidate you through their highly impetuous and fire & brimstone tone. Islam employs the same tactics. Ignore the bluster and pray for them.

Indeed, you would be doing Protestants and Catholics alike a favor if you told them to avoid, say, Michael Voris and focus on Fr. Robert Barron (or even Karl Keating, if you must:p)
I know I shouldn’t, but: :rotfl: Brave words.
Critical thinking will not destroy true faith. The idea that it will is one of the most destructive lies of the Devil.
Well, Martin Luther did say that reason was the enemy of faith. But Luther had his own psychological issues, so I wouldn’t take that too seriously.

To the OP: that site is junk. Both Protestants and Catholics would probably agree. It’s KJV-only, anti-Catholic, and claims to have scientifically “found” Hell in the core of the Earth.

As for why such stuff is popular: that would require a discursion on American culture, cognitive attributional styles, childhood attachment and the origins of paranoia. Probably a topic for another thread in itself, but it wouldn’t be too popular. 😉

Have any of you seen this site? jesus is savior dot com
Can anyone please tell me more about the creator of this site?

This site is one of the reasons I am kinda loosing faith in Catholicism.

Anything would be great.
I can tell you that the guy who runs that website is named David Stewart and he lives in Guam. I can also tell you that there is only one David Stewart living in Guam, and according to public records, this man has been caught having sex with a minor. I also know that he and his followers have defended these actions whilst simultaneously and regularly ranting about the abuse scandal in the Catholic Church.

I would have to say that its not the best source of information at all.

Google jesus is savior.com exposed and you will learn that Mr. Stewarts history I lump him together with Jack Chick a lunatic who is so afraid of hell and he himself being wrong that he has to rip apart other faiths he thinks most protestants are evil too and hes very anti woman stay away from that site

LOL when I was making to choice of if I were to become catholic or not I came across this website. I enjoy extreme fundamentalists because they are so contradictory. They say every church that isn’t affiliated with them has warped and perverted scripture. I find it funny because these people don’t seem to mention Carthage when it comes to the Bible being the only authority of God. I also laughed when he said that he was eating dinner with a catholic family and it “suddenly dawned on him” that they have no personally relationship since they were taught to pray out of a prayer book and don’t pray with their heart and full being or something to that effect. First the fact he would be at any catholic dinner table comes as a shock to me. But you know you have a relationship with God and when you don’t. You can’t determine that by someone listening to you recite prayers. Lastly people who encourage others to hate due to their faith is not Christian as Jesus taught love.

Try checking his facts. Hint: They’re not actually facts at all.

Just to hang up an example, let’s look at this here article: jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Roman%20Catholicism/catholic_heresies-a_list.htm

Let’s just take note of some of his errors and other funny things.

1: He does not understand the difference between the origination of a doctrine and its being infallibly defined. He says that title of Mary as the “Mother of God” “originated in the Council of Ephesus.” This is like saying that the assumption of Mary originated in the fifties when it was infallibly declared. Actually, he kind of does that, but it’s not totally clear that he means that it was invented then, so one should let it slide.

2: He says Catholics worship Mary.

3: He does not understand that it is not critical that the Pope actually be in Rome or be Bishop over the area of Rome.

4: He claims that Catholics worship crosses.

5: He does not understand the idea of a pastoral practice and regards any rule not explicitly laid out in the Bible to be new doctrine.

6: He does not understand that Prayer Beads are not necessarily equivalent to the Rosary.

7: Because he does not understand that Prayer Beads are not necessarily equivalent to the Rosary, he winds up saying that the Rosary predates the Ave Maria, which is the primary prayer in the Rosary.

8: He claims that the Deuterocanonical books were added at the Council of Trent.

9: he does not know what the Immaculate Conception is.

10: This is an actual quote from his article:
Some scholar has found that 75% of the rites and ceremonies of the Roman Church are of pagan origin.
There is absolutely no citation of any kind on his page (save for Biblical citations which he does not elaborate upon at all), related to this or otherwise. He just says “Some scholar has found” and moves on, without doing anything to substantiate his claim, just like he’s done nothing to substantiate any of the claims in the entire article (again, other than dropping verses without discussing how they support anything he says, other than saying what he says they say that contradicts Catholic teaching). He doesn’t even cite the sources to prove the Church says any of the things he says it does. We’re just supposed to believe him because he is the Jesus is Savior guy and has the true Gospel because he says so.

In conclusion, this site is not worth taking seriously. Nothing he says is reliable, and there is no reason to accept a claim on his word.

Edit: Actually, this article was apparently not written, or not written solely, by the normal JesusisSavior guy. Still, it’s representative iirc.
