The first openly gay Anglican bishop has sparked outrage for suggesting that Jesus might have been homosexual.

The Rt Rev Gene Robinson, the Bishop of New Hampshire in the Episcopal Church of the United States, said that Jesus was an unmarried, “non-traditional man” who did not uphold family values, “travelled with a bunch of men” and enjoyed an especially close relationship with one of his disciples.

His comments, made in a recent address at the Christ Church of Hamilton and Wenham in Massachusetts, have enraged traditional Anglicans who have suggested that the Bishop should be “struck down by thunder and lightning bolts”. Bishop Robinson, whose consecration in 2003 triggered a schism between evangelicals and liberals in the worldwide Anglican Communion, was giving an address entitled “Homosexuality and the Body of Christ: Is There a New Way?”

APparently, the Bishop has not read his bible. Jesus traveled with several women also.

Ask a Klan member & he’ll tell you that Jesus was not a Jew, but that He was white.

Ask a Black Supremist & he’ll say tha Jesus was black.

Ask a feminazi & she’ll tell you that Jesus was a woman.

Ask a homosexual & he/she will tell you that Jesus was gay.

Note: None of these people have ever & probably will never see Jesus face to face, so their opnions amount to nothing more than hot air.

I wonder if little people believe that Jesus was also a little person? 😃

Homosexuality is an aberration…and Jesus was perfect…:yup:

Christ is risen…truly He is risen!

I’m so done with this guy. Let the Episcopalians reap what they’ve sown. Maybe now they’ll understand why the rest of the Anglican Communion put them on “probation”.

I’d say I hope that the heterodox, dissident Catholics in this country joined the Episcopalians, but I don’t think that would be a charitable comment. Thing is, I’m not sure which side I’d be lacking charity towards. :hmmm:

Doubtful, unless they were little people supremicists. People just change Jesus around to justify their position. It’s pretty ridiculous.

Of course Jesus was a “non-traditional man”. He was a radical man who shook things up. He said a lot of shocking things that people couldn’t fathom. To suggest that because he wasn’t a “traditional man” that this means he must have been a homosexual is just plain crazy. He wasn’t a traditional man because he was GOD!

Interestingly did the good bishop never say that Jesus might have been a homosexual.

All he said was:
Interestingly enough, in this day of traditional family values, this man that we follow was single, as far as we know, travelled with a bunch of men, had a disciple who was known as ‘the one whom Jesus loved’ and said my family is not my mother and father, my family is those who do the will of God. None of us likes those harsh words. That’s who Jesus is, that’s who he was at heart, in his earthly life. Those who would posit the nuclear family as the be all and end all of God’s creation probably don’t find that much in the gospels to support it
Some people even hear things that were never said whenthey have an agenda.

Wait…listen…I hear a hair splitting.

To maintain this fallacy one must propose that the Truth (Jesus) has truly lifted a rock heavier than he could make. Since God is the author of natural law it would be impossible for His Son to violate His own truth.

If they did, it would be no worse than Billy Graham’s (albeit retracted) statement that Jesus must have been “tall and handsome”…

How many famous folks have been “outed” now?
Alexander the Great
Michaelangelo
Abraham Lincoln
and WOW! Looky here! Our Lord and Savior too!

I guess the guy is showing his true colors and agenda to the hilt. He is very self deluded. Quite a hero to the gay community, no doubt. I would consider this blasphemy, really an affront to the entire Christian community and quite a tactical error on his part.

Proverbs 16:25 There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

Proverbs 17:28 Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.

Proverbs 21:23 He who keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

Have to say it again.
Could somebody please show me where the good bishop said that Jesus might have been homosexual?
Or did nobody besides me read that article?
I cannot find where the bishop said that, but as English isn’t my natural language maybe i i overread it.
Please, if somebody has read the article, please show me!

Well what do you expect from this Bishop. He is desperate to justify his aberrant behavior as “christly.” As Ghosty said the Episcopalians will reap what they have sown here. It’s very very sad that a great church will be split if not destroyed because of the worship of genital activity.

This must have been after his dumping Mary Magdalene following her bearing his 2 children. After all, Robinson has more to justify that just homosexual behavior.
