Ask a Klan member & he’ll tell you that Jesus was not a Jew, but that He was white.

Ask a Black Supremist & he’ll say tha Jesus was black.

Ask a feminazi & she’ll tell you that Jesus was a woman.

Ask a homosexual & he/she will tell you that Jesus was gay.
Amen to that.

Sounds like little more than self-worship on the bishop’s part, to me.

Let’s not EVEN explore “Suffer the little children to come unto Me.”

In this day and age, YECH!

What is that scripture about in the last days, men would heap unto themselves teachers, justifying their passions?
This is proof positive that you can find a devil that will quote a passage of scripture to justify anything.

Non-story, who cares. Jesus lived like, 2K years ago, so no one can really prove what he was. Of course a lot of his teachings show him to be a bit of a populist and a progressive (at least for his time), and that’s a good thing.

Peace!

JS and Werner, you need to read in context, which has been provided multiple times in this thread by Orogeny.

Perhaps you enjoy being purposefully obtuse. Did the Soviet Union explicitly state that their goal was the destruction of the Western democracies? Not in so many words. but Lenin’s philosophy made it clear that was the goal, and made USSR’s actions much more inimicable.

Werner might (MIGHT) be able to claim an inability to understand nuances in English on his own. But at this point, it should be clear -given the context- that Robinson is attempting to insinuate that Jesus was gay.
Well said and very kind.

The “right?” reverend denies it, but I find it very hard to believe his “clarification”. I hadn’t read this thread, until well after I read this on the foxnews site. I got a chuckle when I read this excerpt of his speech:

“this man that we follow … was single as far as we know; who traveled with a bunch of men, although there were lots of women around; who had a disciple who was known as `the one whom Jesus loved’…”

Sure, he didn’t say Jesus was gay. He inferred it (entnehmen? folgern?). Anyone who has heard a gossip discuss whether their next door neighbor is gay, would recognize it.

Robert.

I think the implication is so thick and heavy that it’s palpable, and I’m one to generally be very charitable in my assumptions about people’s intent. There is absolutely no reason he would bring up “the one whom Jesus loved” unless he was pushing the notion that Jesus was gay. The other aspects could theoretically be used to represent his non-traditional lifestyle, but there is NOTHING non-traditional about one man loving another in a brotherly manner. Robinson is clearly using this, in the context of the speech and his other comments about Jesus surrounding himself with men, to imply that there is something “unusual” about this love, and the only possible conclusion I can come to is that he thinks it was a homosexual love.

I’m so beyond done with this man.

Since Jesus was both fully God and fully man I assume that he was tempted in every way that we are… and I also assume he had personal struggles. The difference with Jesus is that he successfully resisted every temptation and conquered every struggle.

My question to my fellow CA posters is this…

Hypothetically, if Jesus born with a homosexual orientation, would that make a difference to you and to your faith?

Since the da vinci code came out, it’s made me think about Jesus’ relationship with Mary Magdalan. Ok, now before anyone starts trying to burn me at the stake, let me say very clearly that I do NOT believe Jesus had any sort of inappropriate relationship with anyone. He was sinless, he died a virgin, I’ll leave it at that. But… do you think it was possible that he and Mary cared very deeply for each other beyond a friendship? Or if in fact Jesus was born with a homosexual orientation that he and John had closeness beyond friendship?

Once again, I am not at all implying that my Lord and Savior sinned in anyway. But I am also conscious of the fact that he was a wonderful 33 year old man and these people who spent time with him definitely could have developed feelings for him…

If Jesus had to stand up to other temptations in his life, do you think this is also an area he had to deal with?

The “bishop” is wrong. Jesus could not have possibly been a homosexual. Why? Because homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord.

Another attempt by the liberals to undermine the Truth in order to justify their vile and inexcusable behavior and moral positioning.

Jesus was a peferct man. He was not born with any inclination toward sin in any way.

Why do people feel the need to say things like that?http://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/soapbox.gifThat is just an attempt to justify sinful behavior and reducing to blaspheme to do ithttp://pages.prodigy.net/rogerlori1/emoticons/pi_supermad.gif
I don’t know but it’s abysmal. I returned to the Catholic Church about a year and a half ago to repent of such sinful behavior, take up my Cross and follow the Lord (with God’s grace). I pray that the Holy Spirit choose a new Pope that’s nothing like that “bishop”.:amen:

The Rt Rev Gene Robinson, the Bishop of New Hampshire in the Episcopal Church of the United States, said that Jesus was an unmarried, “non-traditional man” who did not uphold family values, “travelled with a bunch of men” and enjoyed an especially close relationship with one of his disciples.======================
NOW, only until NOW have I lost respect for The Espicopal “Church”.

The easiest way to condone your actions is to apply them to Jesus. That is a sure way to send yourself to hell.
