When you pray for people do you get any prophetic information ?
Or do you know others who are prayerfully prophetic?

As Jesus demonstrated you can pray for someone and get prophetic visions .

But they will still have problems.

Praying will give you visions of the future situations.

But my catholic religious training didn’t teach me this

How about you ? 🤷

Did your religious training teach you how to be prophetic?

There are not more prophets. The coming of Christ is the fulfillment of O.T. prophecy.

What you are likely talking about is a well formed conscience.
That, plus the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is what keeps us straight.

Get the proper tools in the toolbox of your heart and soul, and see if things don’t work out just peachy.

Prophecy is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. However, it is not primarily about the future. It is about building up the Church right now. Encouragement, edification. Some do receive information regarding future events, but that is intended solely for the recipient and is considered a private revelation. None of these private revelations are binding upon the faithful. Thus, the Church tests them very carefully over the course of years or decades, as many false prophets have gone out into the world. Indeed, none of us is competent to judge a supposed revelation that we receive - we must defer to the Church.

It is possible to have the gift of prophesy, but that is not the same as the prophets or the scriptures themselves. The gift of prophesy is mean to aid another in a particular place. Not everyone will receive this gift from the Holy Spirit, nor is all prayer prophetic, nor is the gift of prophesy mere future telling like a sooth sayer.

If you are interested in this, I would find someone that is a faithful catholic and is charismatic to help guide you. It is difficult to discern spirits when we are at the start of spiritual growth and a wise holy guide is indispensable to ensure we remain walking in the Light of God. When in doubt as a priest.

Any type of prophetic visions would be a special gift from God.
However much discernment is required. We can fool ourselves and we can be fooled. Some prophetic visions could really be from our own imagination. Some people think of something and then they see it, or so they think. Sometimes the devil can intervene. He can appear as an angel of light and tell us many things. He does this because then maybe we can become overconfident and then our fall will be that much greater. If you are having prophetic visions when you pray then I recommend that you seek the guidance of a good spiritual director.
