Jesus said You will be hated by all

I believe i am hated for this reason. the reason i say this is because, as stated, the closer i get to Jesus, the more people dislike me… The weird thing is, sometimes i get the distinct feeling they dislike me when they don’t even KNOW me… such as when in line @ grocery store and someone just gives me an evil look (etc, etc…)… this kind of thing happens SO often… and i don’t feel i am doing anything (or looking grungy or what have you) to warrant that kind of thing… Yet, when i think about it, it stands to reason that if a person serves Christ w/ all his/her heart, he/she is going to be hated by those who do not… and in the spirit realm, well, Satan knows who Christ’s followers are…
Anyway… God bless…
Also: Can you give me a story from your life of when you were persecuted for being (if you are?) Catholic? or whatever…
Thanks.
You get a feeling that when strangers look at you in a grocery store line they might dislike you. You sound almost as suspicious as me—but I have to correct myself. I think to myself: 1. maybe the person is deep in thought and* just looks like *they are looking at me; 2. maybe they are looking at me ugly because they are in a bad mood—nothing to do with me; 3. Some people have that certain look that looks like anger, but they aren’t really (my sister has a crease between her brows due to constant stress or worry. Don’t attribute anything spiritual to it, like the evil one is out to get you…because that is a leap from what can have a purely common explanation as I have pointed out.

You also called yourself a loser—I can definitely tell you that you aren’t. I have had much failure in my life spiritually, financially, and carreer-wise, and I fight this low sef esteem thing too. But people in my life are always telling me I am not, “because all things happen for a reason”, so i will pass that along. We all are justified through the Blood of Christ. Remind yourself of this as often as I need to.

I have received criticism for my Catholic beliefs, but that is because some people are naturally selfish and want to validate their beliefs by throwing darts at me. I have always thought nobody likes me since i was a kid—even if they don’t know me, and this has nothing to do with religion or spiritual matters either. It follows that if one has a problem of any sort, religion or even God is not going to “wipe” it away. you still have to work on the personal problems too. I receive psychological therapy for issues of abuse in my childhood.

Well Saints Peter and Paul used to go around to various towns and preach for a while before getting tossed out of town. They’d get beat up, rocks thrown at them, tossed around, knocked out… they really had to make a fast get-away sometimes. I’ll bet that they weren’t just hanging out being all meek and mild, loving everyone until someone called the cops on them. But some people heard, and believed. It’s the same way with unbelievers these days. All some have to do is see a fish symbol on a car, or hear a bit of the Gospel, and they get real mean real fast. Sifting wheat is hard work.
😃

So true…

Thing is, they were going to towns where people had really never heard the Gospel. Today everyone has heard of Jesus. Are they getting mad because you’re just repeating things to them which they already know, when they’ve shown no interest?
Today, everyone has heard of Jesus, indeed. But do they really know the Gospel message? So to answer your question (are they getting mad because…) - No. Many people I’ve met on my journey through life are basically pagan people. They have no clue. I’ve witnessed constant attacks on the Catholic Church all my life - mean-spirited, sometimes viscious attacks. The world we are living in bears a strong resemblance to Saints Peter and Paul’s world. People haven’t changed, and there’s a Saul standing on every street corner.

This one person (someone i always have trouble  with) was talking to me the other day by phone… She reminded me of another Thread subject… about how few make it to Heavn… that “many attain to the faith but few to the heavenly Kingdom”… (not judging, just stating what i couldn’t help but think)… because she got angry with me when i told her that sometimes people are against me for no apparent reason… people who don’t even know me… I guess she thinks a Christian is, well, always loving and always lov-able… therefore, why would anyone “hate” me or be against me for no good reason… :hypno: :ouch: :hmmm: ? I tried to explain about how some people serve the devil and instinctively know/recognize those who serve Christ (nothing needing to be said or done sometimes…). I quoted the scripture where Jesus says “you will hated by all” because of Him… this incidnet Confirmed that old stereotype about Catholics not knowing the Bible very well… 'cause she didn’t seem to have heard that one… & just dropped the subject, more or less…
Anyway… a person has to do some interesting and very non-conventional things in order to really serve Jesus Christ… One definitely cannot take the path “everyone” else takes…the past of least resistance. That’s not always so fun… but… well… fun is for later… in Heaven… 🙂
Hmmm… now i think about it, that ties in very well w/ Mass readings this Sunday… After having served … it is then that the unworthy servants get to eat and drink … 😃
