Jesus stall refused place in Royal Easter Show

An excerpt from and link to an article from CathNews.com is below. (Though it is not really just Catholic News, I didn’t know a better place to put this.) This is a perfect example of how topsy-turvy our secular world has become. The irony here is huge. Perhaps show organizers do not have a real understanding of what “Easter” means and should change the name of their show to something along the lines of the “Royal Bunny Show.”

The Royal Agricultural Society, organiser of the Sydney Easter Show, has told the Bible Society NSW there was no space available at the event for its “Jesus. All About Life.” stall.

The Bible Society said it has also received communication that it was not able to secure the space for the stall due to its religious nature, according to a media statement.

Easter Show shouldn’t keep religion out

The Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) today urged Sydney Royal Easter Show
organisers to rethink their refusal to allow a ‘Jesus. All About Life’ stall at the
Sydney Easter Show because of its religious nature.

“This is a family event held at the most sacred time of the year on the Christian
calendar and one would have thought it was entirely appropriate to provide space
for the Bible Society stall,” ACL NSW Director David Hutt said today.

“When was it decided that religion should be kept out of an Easter event and
expunged from family activities?

“What a deplorable message to be sending out at Easter time.

“We urge the Show’s organisers, the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, to change
their decision on this and provide the Bible Society with the requested space,” Mr
Hutt said.

**Just another sad example of a secular hijacking of a Christian holiday & then discriminating against the Christians by not allowing them representation!

According to the playbook of these “bright, intellectual, secular progressives”;Christmas is now “Winter Carnival”, Easter has nothing to do with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, it is simply another way to sell candy eggs…!

Do you think there would be outrage if the Royal “Gay Pride” celebration did not allow a GBLT table???**

I am not at all familiar with the Sydney Royal Easter Show, but from a cursory glance at it’s website, it looks similar to a State Fair, here in the US. Okay, a State Fair with Robosaurus, but still, a two week festival of animal exhibits, musical acts, carnival rides, food vendors, and other fun stuff. Family friendly, I think, is the goal.

The Royal Agricultural Society, which runs the festival seems to be giving conflicting accounts of why the New South Wales Bible Society booth was turned down. First, it was a supposed unwritten ban on religious and political exhibits. Then it was because there wasn’t room. But it seems the NSW Bible Society was told in Februrary there was room and they were negotiating the size of the booth when the rug was pulled out from under them.
