Jesus vs Muhammad

Two diametrically opposite figures in history. Two diametrically opposite messages from these men.

One a God become man, the other a man became… what? A God in his own mind? Allah? This is what I believe to be true, that Allah is only whatever Muhammad wanted him to be. When he started out with the idea of Islam, he fashioned Allah as a peaceful sort. When he was rejected, when he migrated to Medina his Allah became violent, angry, deceptive, very much concerned with Muhammad’s sexual dalliances.

Most of the time the Muslims tell us we are not behaving as good Christians (I have gotten that from Facebook and other blog sites, but they think that knowing what their scriptures say is misbehaving or being hateful. Is it? I don’t think so. I think that not telling the truth is dangerous to others in case we lead them astray.

Here are some comparisons that I have been accumulating between these two:

Muhammad: “I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah” (Muslim 1:33)
Jesus: “He who lives by the sword will die by the sword.” (Matthew 26:52)

Muhammad: Stoned women for adultery. (Sahih Muslim 4206)
Jesus: “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”(John 8:7)

Muhammad: Permitted stealing from unbelievers. (Bukhari 44:668, Ibn Ishaq 764)
Jesus: “Thou shalt not steal.” (Matthew 19:18)

Muhammad: Permitted lying. (Sahih Muslim 6303, Bukhari 49:857)
Jesus: “Thou shalt not bear false witness.”(Matthew 19:18)

Muhammad: Owned and traded slaves. (Sahih Muslim 3901)
Jesus: Neither owned nor traded slaves.

Muhammad: Beheaded 800 Jewish men and boys. (Sahih Muslim 4390)
Jesus: Beheaded no one.

Muhammad: Murdered those who insulted him. (Bukhari 56:369, 4:241)
Jesus: Preached forgiveness. (Matthew 18:21-22, 5:38)

Muhammad: “If then anyone transgresses the prohibition against you, Transgress ye likewise against him” (Qur’an 2:194)
Jesus: “If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.”(Matthew 5:39)

Muhammad: Jihad in the way of Allah elevates one’s position in Paradise by a hundred fold. (Muslim 4645) "
Jesus: Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called Sons of God" (Matthew 5:9)

Muhammad: Married 13 wives and kept sex slaves. (Bukhari 5:268, Qur’an 33:50)
Jesus: Was celibate.

Muhammad: Slept with a 9-year-old child. (Sahih Muslim 3309, Bukhari 58:236)
Jesus: Did not have sex with children.

Muhammad: Ordered the murder of women. (Ibn Ishaq 819, 995)
Jesus: Never harmed a woman.

Muhammad: Ordered 65 military campaigns and raids in his last 10 years (Ibn Ishaq)
Jesus: Ordered no military campaigns, nor offered any approval of war or violence.

Muhammad: Encouraged his men to rape enslaved women. (Abu Dawood 2150, Qur’an 4:24)
Jesus: Never encouraged rape. Never enslaved women.

Muhammad: Demanded captured slaves and a fifth of all other loot taken in war. (Qur’an 8:41)
Jesus: “The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve.”(Matthew 20:28)

Muhammad: “And fight them until there is no more persecution and religion is only for Allah”(Qur’an 8:39)
Jesus: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44)

Muhammad: What are the Greatest Commandments?“Belief in Allah and Jihad in His cause” (Muslim 1:149)
Jesus: What are the Greatest Commandments? “Love God and love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 22:34-40)

Muhammad: Demanded the protection of armed bodyguards, even in a house of worship (Qur’an 4:102)
Jesus: Chastised anyone attempting to defend him with force. (John 18:10-12)

Muhammad: Died fat and wealthy from what was taken from others in war or demanded from others in tribute.
Jesus: Demanded nothing for himself. Died without possessions.

Muhammad: Advocated crucifying others (Qur’an 5:33, Muslim 16:4131)
Jesus: Was crucified himself.

Muhammad: According to his followers: Had others give their lives for him. (Sahih Muslim 4413)
Jesus: According to his followers: Gave his life for others. (John 18:11 and elsewhere)

There are other things, obviously, that I left out. But I tried to pick the things that truly show the character of the men I am discussing.
 
There is no comparison of Muhammed to Jesus- one was declared a prophet- and the other the Son of God and fulfillment of prophecy…however…what would be beneficial is if you posted the differences between the early Muhammed and the latter distortion that occurred along the line…

Why don’t you?

the latter one is the one that is the true influence since the latter verses abrogate the earlier ones.
 
Allah is God.

They were both good men however despite that I’m not a Christian…I like Jesus’ message better.

Should have compared Muhammad to Joseph Smith.👍

Can you tell me what was good about Muhammad? Did you even read the first post? If you think that Muhammad was good, please quote your sources. I used Islamic sources to quote Muhammad’s personality, the personality of Islam that influences Sharia laws, Jihad, taqiyya, and other things like that.
 
I thought you were the one who wanted to inform about Muhammed- apparently not inform so much as to inflame perhaps?.. there are millions of muslims who are followers of the peaceful side of muhammed… and there are the radical jihadists that perpetuate hate… there are also radical people who call themselves christians that perpetuate extremism, seperatism and hate that in no way resembles or emulates anything Jesus preached-so not Christian at all…what it all comes down to is a personal decision to embrace love or hate…God is watching

Also, Muhammad had about 700 Jews from the tribe of Banu Qurayza beheaded. Even Muslims admit that Muhammad was sinful and that Jesus was sinless. Interestingly, you never find atheists saying that Jesus was an immoral bad person. They might deny his divinity, but always say that he was a great moral teacher. Contrast that with muhammad, there is unanimous agreement that muhammad was extremely immoral. There is no comparison. muhammad is inferior to Jesus Christ.

That is what they tell you.

I know quite a bit about him. I am trying to get you to show me your sources if you claim he is peaceful.

Why am I inflaming? I am showing you what the Quran and some other texts say about him

I am showing the Muhammad that influences sharia laws and why all those peaceful ones do nothing to change them, or do nothing to stop their violent ones, or basically try to tell us we are misunderstanding Islam and spend all their energies doing that or rioting if a cartoon is drawn or if Israel defends herself.

I am waiting for something from you if you claim he is peaceful.

My family is Jewish…I don’t have issues with him.

He did some pretty screwed up things,yeah.

His EXTREME followers do pretty screwed up things…God bless Israel.

But I’m not gonna call all Moslems who look up to him out because of it…Why would I?

I try to look for the good in people.

I know good Muslim people who practice Islam the way it should be practiced…Peacefully.

I’m not gonna point out all the bad things about Muhammad because there WAS good points he made…My friends are a reflection of that.

You are out to insult.
 
Here is a very telling Hadith where Muhammad proclaimed himself as #1, a man who frightened his enemies, #2. a looter and a plunderer, #3. he places himself up with his Allah and gives himself the right to interceded for the poor soul facing judgement.

Hadith B1,7,331 Muhammad: “I have been given five things which were not given to any one else before me:
  1. Allah made me victorious by awe, by His frightening my enemies for a distance of one month’s journey.
  2. The earth has been made for me and my followers a place for praying and a place to perform rituals; therefore, anyone of my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer is due.
  3. The spoils of war has been made lawful for me yet it was not lawful for anyone else before me.
  4. I have been given the right of intercession on the Day of Resurrection.
  5. Every prophet used to be sent to his nation only, but I have been sent to all mankind.”

As you insult? You are setting a pretty good example

I have asked you several times now to show me the sources. What is the problem with that? Are you afraid to teach me something or only bash me?

You are giving me the usual excuses that I have heard so often that people should not be critical because they know this guy or that guy. What does that have to do with anything? I am talking about Muhammad and Islam. Are you able to separate the ideology from the people? If not, then stop complaining and SHOW ME!

Show me where he is peaceful. That is all I am asking of you and you just can’t do it. Why? You seem to be able to tell me that I bash but all I am doing is showing Muhammad according to Islam’s own scriptures - the Quran and hadith. Those are their most revered texts.

Since when is criticism of a religion wrong? People do it all the time to Christianity, a whole religion! I wonder if you emailed the museums that carried the dung on Jesus and Mary types of art? Did you get upset over that?

And do you know why I didn’t? Because I figured they didn’t know any better. But if you want a different message put out - then SHOW ME YOUR SOURCES.

You assume that I don’t forgive or do whatever is in your mind that you have already labeled me as not doing. I guess I need to have you show me what commandment I broke by knowing Islam. I don’t seem to have that commandment listed that says to stay ignorant and to not criticize if I see some glaring problems with an ideology.

What you have given me is many of the excuses I read from Muslims. They bash the messenger, they tell me that I am not Christian enough, they project their own failings on to me, etc. They have a pile more excuses and I am curious to see how many more you will pull.

good bye. I figured you didn’t have anything to offer except knowing how to pull up some emoticons.

Maybe you can come back and show me something to back your assertions up. It would mean that you would have to read though.

There are websites that have the Quran for free and you don’t have to buy it. USC still has all the accepted translations, and also the hadith. As for the hadith, Bukhari is the better one and Sahih Muslim, Bukhari’s student, is the 2nd best. I have all the accepted translations of the Quran and all the different authors of the hadith, and also the Sira. So you can pick one that you like best.

As for Sharia laws, I have the Reliance of the Traveller.
 
I agree- instead of spending all your time in hate and conspiracy in an effort to illuminate the real muhammed…spend it being a reflection of Jesus and an example of His love-and realize that all things happen in God’s time and God’s Plan…and whether you like it or not- Islam is part of His Plan…you being hateful-accomplishes nothing but robbing yourself of God’s peace within you-…let go of this now and give it to God- you can accomplish more with positive energy than by feeding more negativity to the world…
