I agree- instead of spending all your time in hate and conspiracy in an effort to illuminate the real muhammed…spend it being a reflection of Jesus and an example of His love-and realize that all things happen in God’s time and God’s Plan…and whether you like it or not- Islam is part of His Plan…you being hateful-accomplishes nothing but robbing yourself of God’s peace within you-…let go of this now and give it to God- you can accomplish more with positive energy than by feeding more negativity to the world…
Propaganda is hateful, the truth is not. Unfortunately some cannot decipher the propaganda from the truth. Is it due to laziness or something else? I usually call it chosen ignorance, but there could be other reasons, chosen laziness being one but there are other reasons. Telling someone that it is better to remain ignorant is just playing into the propaganda.

No- you are being hateful and driven by that hate- not informed- informed would be a positive-something you could use to lift others up- you choose to make it a weapon and hatefully accusatory… who is more ignorant- the man who chooses not to pursue such endeavors- or the man who wastes his precious God-given life and time perpetuating hate

Go look in the mirror, since you are accusing me that knowledge is hateful.

Why are you unable to show me anything else to prove your point except for accusations?

How many more posts do we need to exchange where I keep asking you to show me the sources for your premise?

No- this is it- 'nuff said…YOUR OWN post said "when he started out with Islam-He fashioned Allah as a peaceful sort…you need to pay attention to it ALL- and not just what feeds your anger ,hate and prejudice…knowledge isn’t hateful - but intent can make it so… and your intent is to enflame, not inform…you even argue with those who aren’t arguing with you- your post wanted to compare Jesus to muhammed- they are not comparable…perhaps if you filled your mind with love for Jesus instead of hate for muhammed - you’d realize that…

Again, you are projecting yourself onto me. I am not angry, I do not hate Muhammad and in fact when other Christians have written he is in hell (on other blogs), I have written that I will not judge him. I think he might have had some mental problems, and even at that we are not God and are not to judge others. BUT! I can judge the ideology of Islam and I will. Yes, I do hate the ideology of Islam since I find it to be a curse on mankind and has led many down the wrong path.

The peaceful Muhammad was abrogated by the violent Muhammad. And he even admitted it. Even Sharia laws say that if Muslims discuss the Quran they are supposed to know about abrogation (it is called supersession).

Not once, but several times Muhammad brought up abrogation where he substituted other things to replace earlier verses.

**“None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?” Surah 2: 106

“When We substitute one revelation for another, and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages), they say, “Thou art but a forger”: but most of them understand not.” Surah 16:101**

Learn things before accusing people of things that are not true. Defend what you understand. Learn the difference between the ideology and the people.

“Allah:”
“I will cast terror into the hearts of those who
disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads
and strike off every fingertip of them.”
(Quran 8:12)

Muhammad:
“Fight everyone in the way of Allah and
kill those who disbelieve in Allah.”
(Ibn Ishaq 992)

Jesus:
“Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
(Matthew 5:14)

Mohammed was not a bad man for his time and place.

He taught many good things too.

I dont understand Christians who hate.

…I don’t know if you realize how you come across- your response to my last post clearly shows you see yourself differently than what you project…I wasn’t going to respond but thought you should know if you didn’t already… for example- by the last comparison and what you have projected so far- it would be hard to tell whose teachings you see yourself following-… you certainly don’t appear to love your neighbor as yourself.

sigh To post a response, or NOT to post a response, that is the question.

You have to remember that Muhammed was a warrior in a very dark time. War is a precept written to the hard-heartedness of men.

It would perhaps be best to not compare Jesus and Muhammed, but rather see how Muhammed’s “final revelation to men” compared to what was already revealed by Jesus Christ. And to a further extent, the Bible’s entirety.

But this thread being presented in the (excuse me) intollorant manner it’s in isn’t going to really persuade anyone, and will only cause tension between faiths. And even make ours look less appealing. First, ask yourself “what is my motive?” Are you sowing discord? Or are you trying to persuade others to the truth?

This is a classic example of what qwerk DOESN’T want people to do on this thread.

algebra, if you think Mohammed taught many good things too, then please list them.

qwerk has listed the bad stuff, now you can counteract. It is called a debate.

Interestingly enough, the use of the word “too” seems to imply that you agree that Mohammed taught bad things. Is that correct?

Christians don’t hate Mohammed. Jesus taught us to love one another. But we can hate Mohammed’s teachings for they are so wrong and lead people away from the Truth.

I hope this thread delivers what you hoped for qwerk 🙂

Did you even read the previous post? Why do you keep judging me by what is in your head? Why can’t you produce anything to back your premises up? That is all you have to do.

Here it is again:

I notice that you can’t resist to keep coming here and telling me what you feel. Remember, it is what you feel. I am not feeling what you are trying to project onto me.

What is more dangerous? To show what Muhammad was according to his texts or to defend him and just allow others to think that he was an ok guy? Even for his time he was cruel.

Let me give you an example of what Muhammad did to a woman, and a man, who spoke against him. They were poets, sort of a ‘reporters of news’ of their time. They wrote poems against what Muhammad was teaching, they disagreed with him.
March 624: Uqba bin Abu Muayt
Uqba mocked Muhammad in Mecca and wrote derogatory verses about him. He was captured during the Battle of Badr, and Muhammad ordered him to be executed. “But who will look after my children, O Muhammad?” Uqba cried with anguish. “Hell,” retorted the prophet coldly. Then the sword of one of his followers cut through Uqba’s neck.
March 624: Asma bint Marwan
Asma was a poetess who belonged to a tribe of Medinan pagans, and whose husband was named Yazid b. Zayd. She composed a poem blaming the Medinan pagans for obeying a stranger (Muhammad) and for not taking the initiative to attack him by surprise. When the prophet heard what she had said, he asked, “Who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter?” A member of her husband’s tribe volunteered and crept into her house that night. She had five children, and the youngest was sleeping at her breast. The assassin gently removed the child, drew his sword, and plunged it into her, killing her in her sleep.
The following morning, the assassin defied anyone to take revenge. No one took him up on his challenge, not even her husband. In fact, Islam became powerful among his tribe. Previously, some members who had kept their conversion secret now became Muslims openly, “because they saw the power of Islam,” so conjectures an early Muslim source that reports the assassination.
In addition to the sources that recount these and other assassinations, the Quran also supports harsh punishments for mockers and insulters (Suras 3:186; 33:57; 33:59-61; and 9:61-63).

qwerk…you want to argue and debate-…you didn’t need kelli to stop by and clarify on your behalf–… you have been rude and abrasive on purpose to provoke argument…you would probably have gotten what you wanted and attracted those with the same mindset simply by saying let’s debate the differences between Jesus and Mohammed…duh…so will leave you to your circular reasoning and insults and hope you find what you are looking for… play nice:rolleyes:😛

I forgot to reply to the comparing Muhammad to Joseph Smith post and I didn’t.

I don’t know that much about Joseph Smith and I don’t know how much Muslims do either. They usually don’t know that much about their own prophet from what I have gathered on many other blogs. They either don’t know much about him because they usually memorize the Quran in Arabic which is not a language they are very familiar with and they don’t question anything because either. They are either afraid because they are told not to or they just don’t know. So they depend on some Imam or cleric to tell them, if they tell them anything substantial at all about Muhammad. We see in our schools that they have actually put in textbooks some complete fairy tales about the guy. There is a movement by a group called the Muslim Brotherhood who makes sure that falsehoods are pushed forward and the truth is squashed as much as possible. Maybe that is why I am getting flack from some here who don’t know too much about Muhammad but will tell me that I am the one who is wrong. Too bad they don’t feel the need to do some research on their own and find out the truth.

Their idea of Jesus is what they are told about him from the Quran and that is pretty twisted. It isn’t even close. I don’t know how they view those who view Joseph Smith as a prophet considering they think Muhammad is a real prophet and the last prophet. Obviously, Joseph Smith appeared centuries later.

I think that the Mormons can take that up that comparison if they want to.

Who is kelli?

Once again you are trying to tell me what you are exhibiting. I have gotten absolutely zero from you except for insults.

I am new to this forum and I have no idea who kelli is. She can post what she wants to post or are you trying to intimidate her too? I assume it is a ‘she’, I don’t know.

Jesus: “Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34. (said while dying on the cross at Calvary after being betrayed and sentenced to die for no legitimate reason).

Muhammad: “May Allah curse the Jews and Christians for they built the places of worship at the graves of the prophets.” Bukhari, Vol. 1, #427 [Muhammad had been poisoned years earlier by a Jewish woman whose husband was killed by the Muslims and the poison had slowly worked its effect. He said this while dying in the arms of his wife Aisha].

Jesus: John 8:46 - “Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth why don’t you believe me?” Also note 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 John 3:5, Heb. 4:15

Muhammad never said he was sinless, so I won’t go into detail here. I got to give him a plus here.

Jesus: But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil, and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:44-48)

Muhammad: Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given [Christians and Jews] as believe not in God, or in the last day, and who forbid not that which God and His Apostle have forbidden, and who profess not the profession of the truth, until they pay tribute out of hand and they be humbled. Quran 9:29

it’s kellie 🙂

and i didn’t stop by to clarify on qwerk’s behalf, i simply entered a thread that looked interesting

Perhaps this is the teaching of Jesus that other posters here are pointing out to be taken into action, which means that though Islam’s ideology could be so much deviated from Christianity’s, God would never fail to give His love and mercy to muslims that we’re also have to abide to.

Any arguments brought to the forum of different religion especially regarding Islamic faith seems to end up to bashing Islam (and to some extent bashing Christianity as well).
Is the motive to evangelize muslims so that they can see the flaws in their religion Or just to have some superior feeling towards other?

If the motive is to evangelize, I think it’s rather difficult if we start by pointing flaws of other. Remember, it is usually difficult to agree to people who keep insulting or telling someone’s flaws to be able to turn him to the right path. But anyway…I also don’t know the right tools to do so…😉
Muslim’s real objection of Christian is that they think we have put Jesus as God. That’s the main reason that they wouldn’t bother your lists of their flaws, as they will always believe that whatever you think, it’s all written by Allah. They also believe that their religious duties (the 5 pillars) have exceeded the practices of Christian which doesn’t seem to be abiding.

Only my two cents.
