NEW YORK (AP) – A New York Jets season-ticket holder filed a class-action lawsuit Friday against the New England Patriots and coach Bill Belichick for “deceiving customers.”

The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Newark, N.J., by Carl Mayer of Princeton Township, N.J., stems from the Patriots being caught illegally videotaping signals from Jets coaches in New England’s 38-14 season-opening win Sept. 9.

“They violated the integrity of the game,” Mayer’s attorney, Bruce Afran, told The Associated Press. “This is a way of punishing Belichick and the Patriots.”

The NFL should revoke that guy’s season tickets for damage to the NFL.

The next game should be interesting between the two. 😛

It’s a class action lawsuit against the Patriots, an NFL organization. The man is a Jets season ticket holder. The NFL, as a league can’t revoke one man’s season tickets because he sues another team which was involved in cheating in a class action lawsuit. He’s suing a team and the people responsible for cheating, not the league.

I for one hope the man does win some compensation for himself and the other season ticket holders.

Just what our society needs, more victims that must be compensated. Everywhere you look you see victims. Someone experiences discomfort and it is inevitably some else’s fault and money must change hands.

Such is America. A nation of victims has its days numbered.

I’m not certain I would be calling this person a victim. Nor would I be so certain they view themselves that way.

It would seem to me an effort to inflict a punishment.

I do not believe the fines assessed against them by the NFL were an adequate pinishment myself. I would have published their playbook in the NYT and called it done.

I’m sure most NFL football fans stand behind this person’s lawsuit.
